Lawrence R. Morgan
CROSSVILLE, Tenn. -- Lawrence Russell Morgan, 74, of Crossville, formerly of Garrard County, died Oct. 6 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
Born May 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Lewis Morgan and Mary "Beadie" Hunter Morgan West.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Collett Morgan; a daughter, Mona Morgan Perry of Lancaster; half sisters, Annis West Whitlock of Lancaster and Mavis West Burton of Lexington; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 7 at Blackburn Cemetery in Pikeville, Tenn.

Walter Worthington
HARRODSBURG -- Walter Worthington, 66, of Ada Drive died Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born Dec. 25, 1935, in Danville, he was the son of the late Obie and Betty Montgomery Worthington. He had served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a disabled veteran and a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans, and Perryville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evalee Gennell Worthington; three sons, Marty F. Worthington of Hustonville, Timothy Worthington of Stanford and Justin Worthington of Alum Springs; a daughter, Adrienne Colyer of Lancaster; three stepsons, Emerson St. John of New York, N.Y., Lawrence Emerson of Perryville and Frankie Emerson of Danville; two stepdaughters, Jeanette Collins of Corinth and Angelia Newbury of Shakopee, Minn.; three brothers, Obie Worthington of Danville, Bobby Worthington of Junction City and Irvin Worthington of Parksville; four sisters, Betty Deringer, Imogene Hart and Mary Elizabeth Langford, all of Harrodsburg, and Anna W. Coffman of Danville; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Worthington.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Everett Priddy and Don Drake. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military rites.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service Friday.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis Durham; two sons, David Durham of Stanford and Richard Durham of Lexington; a daughter, Carolyn McNew of Louisburg, N.C.; a brother, Donald Cain of Stanford; a sister, Lena Kelley of Stanford; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Frank Durham.
Pallbearers will be nephews and members of Turnersville Christian Church. Honorary pallbearers are members of the adult Sunday school class.

Born April 14, 1926, in Creston, she was the daughter of the late Thomas R. and Martha Adams Joines. She was a homemaker, a member of Creston Missionary Baptist Church and Creston Homemakers.
Survivors include her husband, Onva Hayes; a son, Daniel Hayes of Campbellsville; two brothers, Kenneth Joines of Rocky Point, N.C., and Hayden Joines of Liberty; a sister, Agnes Foley of Cincinnati; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Hayes and a daughter, Karen Hayes.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Stanley, Mark and Brian Foley, Tommie and Paul Joines and Justis Roach.

Born Oct. 24, 1916, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Chris and Ina Royalty James. He was an employee of the Harrodsburg post office, a member of Bohon Church of Christ and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Mae Terhune James; a daughter, Rita McGlone of Harrodsburg; two sons, Connie James of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Terry James of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a step great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Peavler, Jackie Springate, Billy Grider, Carlos Lester, Orbon Mayes, Marvin Robinson and John Lane.

She had been food supervisor at the Kentucky School for the Deaf.
Survivors include her husband, Archie McCowan; three daughters, Glenda Smith of Canton, N.Y., Mona Kennedy of Lexington and Deborah Kay Stevenson of Durham, N.C.; two sons, Ronald P. McCowan of Danville and Garnett Brown of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Sylvia Kennedy and Rosetta Ford, both of Danville; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, American Legion Post 52 and the Kentucky Racing Commission.
Survivors include two sons, Keith A. McGuire of West Liberty and Brian K. McGuire of Harrodsburg; four brothers, Ralph McGuire and Vernon McGuire, both of Harrodsburg, Leslie McGuire of Louisville and Eugene McGuire of Salvisa; three sisters, Pauline Caine of Louisville, LaVerne Grider and Irene Harlow, both of Harrodsburg; and a granddaughter.
