Born March 15, 1918, in Lehigh, Okla., he was a former employee of Sellers Engineering and a World War II veteran. He was the widower of Wanda Goodson.

LIBERTY -- Lela Hoard, 82, of Clearwater, Fla., died Thursday in Clearwater.
Born May 26, 1920, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Nute and Pina M. Scott Emerson. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Garrett J. Lawhorn of Dunellon, Fla., and Joseph R. Lawhorn of Newport Richie, Fla.; two daughters, Helen M. Gray of Clearwater and Geraldine Morris of Largo, Fla.; four sisters, Beatrice Lee and Alene Hicks, both of Franklin, Ind., Lola Warner of Liberty and Flonnie Marple of Campbellsville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Marty Shackelford. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery.

James Russell
Services for James Albert "Jimmy" Russell, 77, of Danville will be 2 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Gary Story. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
He died today at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg.
Born July 15, 1915, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Ethel Tewmey Russell. He was a retired employee of the Danville post office, where he worked for 35 years, a self-employed sign maker, and a partner in Dunn's Coin-O-Matic laundry and Russell's Washouse.
He was a member of Oleika Shrine and Franklin Lodge 28 F&AM; and chairman of Demolya Advisory Council. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include nephews Paul Russell and Russell Cloyd, both of Danville, James Russell of Stanford, Ralph Russell of Lexington, Skip Russell and Tim Russell, both of Tampa, Fla.; and nieces, Frances Lawson of St. Louis, Mo., and Deana Jones of Naples, Fla.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.

LANCASTER -- Services for Kyle Broaddus, 70, of Crawford Lane, Stanford, formerly of Lancaster, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Spurlin Funeral Home by Darren Gillespie. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
He died Monday at his home.
Born Aug. 28, 1932, in Madison County, he was the son of the late John C. and Stella Howard Broaddus. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Adams Broaddus; two daughters, Wanda S. Brunker and Kyleen Davis, both of Carlisle; a sister, Lyda Sallee of Stanford; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ian Brunker, Carl McAllister, Billy Eden, Kenneth Deboard, Bradley Adams and Amos Reed.

MORELAND -- James F. "Jim" Reid, 54, of Louisville died Monday at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
Born May 12, 1948, in Danville, he was the son of the late Farris L. and Clarice Tarter Reid. He was a retired restaurant owner and a member of Westside Community United Methodist Church (formerly Moreland United Methodist Church.) He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of a Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Crowl-Reid; a daughter, Meghan E. Reid of Gahanna, Ohio; a son, James Paul "J.P." Reid of Gahanna; and a stepson, John M. Crowl II of Taos, N.M.
Services will be noon Thursday at Westside Community United Methodist Church by the Revs. Eugene Strange and Scott Wilson. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18 of the American Legion.

Born Aug. 8, 1926, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Ermin and Lou Vada Pittman Jones. She was a retired nursing assistant and farmer, and the widow of O.H. Young and Cleo Robinson.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Y. Tope of Harrodsburg; a granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Marcus L. Young; and a grandson.

LOUISVILLE -- The Rev. James A. Landrum, 81, of Louisville, formerly of Boyle County, died Friday at Jewish Hospital.
He was a retired pastor, having served for 35 years as pastor of Clifton Baptist Church in Boyle County. He was a retired Army tech sergeant with 21 years of active service, a member of the Army Reserves for 12 years, and a member of New Covenant Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, James A. Landrum II of Burlington, Vt.; a daughter, Vivian Landrum if Louisville; two brothers, Robert Moore of Kansas City, Mo., and Sandford Landrum of Evansville, Ind.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at New Covenant Baptist Church, 1190 S. 40th St. Burial will be in Louisville Cemetery.
