HARRODSBURG -- Services for Frank C. Carpenter, 89, of 459 Sycamore Court No. 19 in Harrodsburg, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel in Harrodsburg with Jeanette Lucas officiating.
Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. Saturday.
He died Thursday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg.
Born June 24, 1913, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Elmer Lee and Ellen Foster Carpenter.
He was a farmer, former manager of the American Dairy Association of Kentucky, and a dairy inspector for Berea College. He was a member of Kingston Masonic Lodge in Madison County, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Burgin Christian Church where he was a deacon emeritus.
Survivors include his wife, Flossie Kirkland Carpenter; a daughter, Ellen Grayce Hellard of Versailles; a brother, Maurice Pittman Carpenter of Lexington; and two sisters, Beatrice Carpenter Shuel of Princeton, Ind., and Evelyn Warner of Harrodsburg.
Memorials may go to Burgin Christian Church.

LIBERTY -- Services for Annie Shirk, 88, of Liberty will be at 1:30 Monday at Cedar Hill Church with Jacob Oberholtzer and Edward Martin officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at her residence.
Born March 30, 1914, in Caernarvon, Penn., she was the daughter of the late Levi H. Garman and Elizabeth B. Senig Garman, and the widow of the late Amos H. Shirk. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include six sons, Levi Shirk of Holland, Ky., Phares Shirk and Amos Shirk Jr., both of Liberty, Paul Shirk of Goshen, Ind., John Shirk of Middleburg, Pa., and Joseph Shirk of Dunnville; four daughters, Mary Newswanger of Holland, Ky., Martha and Lena Shirk and Anna Hoover, all of Liberty; a sister, Lizzie Hoover of Scottsville; a brother, Noah Garman of East Earl, Pa.; 55 grandchildren; and 172 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the family's residence at 4745 Ky. 910 in Liberty.

Paul L. Tarter Sr.
LIBERTY -- Paul L. Tarter Sr., 79, of Beldon Street, died Wednesday at his home.
Born April 23, 1923 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Grace Emerson and Paul Tarter Sr.
He was a self-employed electrician, Navy veteran of World War II and the widower of Katherine Rainwater.
Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Naamani and Eva Wheeler, both of Liberty; a sister, Geraldine Davis of Cincinnati; a brother, Vernon Tarter, of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons, Eldon L. and Paul Tarter Jr. III.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Bro. Dwight Coffman. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Visitation from 6-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

PERRYVILLE -- Elmer L. Hawn, 89, of Parksville died Tuesday in Stanford.
Born April 25, 1913, in Tennessee, he was the son of the late Perry and Addie Wilson Hawn.
He was a retired picture frame maker for H. Coomer and Son and a member of Mitchellsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie Jones Hawn of Parksville; a son, Garey Hawn of Richmond; a stepdaughter, Sharon Edwards of Parksville; two stepsons, Albert and Charles Sanderfer of Indiana; three sisters, Pauline Henson of Ohio, Willie Irene Caldwell of Danville, and Lillian Lorine Heaberlin of Grayson; two brothers, Perry Hawn of Danville and Paul Hawn of Ohio; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mitchellsburg Baptist Church by Lee Arnold.
Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Wilder Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held at the church from noon Thursday until time of service.
Active pallbearers will be Greg, Troy and Tracy Edwards, Carl Leffew, and J.W. and Garnice Lamb.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mitchellsburg Baptist Church's adult men's Sunday school class.

She is survived by her partner, Delyn Falconberry of Stanford; a brother, Barry Atkins of Stanford; and two sisters, Sharon Ringley of Stanford and Mary Zwahlen of Richmond.

She was a retired Fayette County school bus driver and a member of Lancaster Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Whittaker of Lancaster; a son, Jimmy Broaddus of Bowling Green; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pleas Broaddus; and a son, Lee Davis Buster Broaddus.
