Maudie Whitaker
PERRYVILLE -- Maudie Belle Wilson Whitaker, 92, of Mitchell Lane, died yesterday at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
Born May 9, 1909 in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Millard Fillmore and Rebecca VanHook Wilson. She was the widow of Herman Whitaker.
Survivors inclued a daughter, Susan Reynolds of Danville and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Wilder Funeral Home by Rev. Jimmy Owens. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Richard and Landon Reynolds, Frankie and Bradley Emmerson and Tharen and Kayla Stevens. Honorary pallbearers are Elwood Reynolds, Freddie Turner, Ricky Baugh, Garfield Spears and Danny Hall.

Virginia Flannery
HARRODSBURG -- Services for Virginia Flannery, 79, of Burgin will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home by Lester Tirey. Burial will be in the Burgin Memorial Gardens.
She died Sunday at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. She was the widow of Hargis Flannery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 7 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Sexton, Tim Lewis, Justin Kendrick, Ray Coffman and Dawn Burger.

Mary Elizabeth Buster Bomer
Mary Elizabeth Buster Bomer, 84, of East Green Street, died Friday at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Aug. 24, 1916, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Ray Coulter and Delia Feelings Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of America. She was the widow of Jay Buster and James Bomer.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary E. Beasley of Danville; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, James R. Shanks.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of God of America by Larry Weathers. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Church of God of America.

Myrtle Gibson
Myrtle Gibson, 72, of Ridgeway Road, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 13, 1928, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late John and Ella Mae Bailey Gibson. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Tina Stevens of Lawrenceburg, Colleen Devine and Lisa Boyd, both of Danville, Joyce Burchett of Junction City and Teresa Boyd of Hustonville; two sons, Ralph Boyd Jr. and Jay Herbert Boyd, both of Danville; two brothers, Johnny Anness of Franklin, Tenn., and Chris Carroll of Alum Springs; a sister, Dorothy Short of Hustonville; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Natalie J. Boyd.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Terry Holt. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Stratton, Wayne Lovin, Eddie Egolf, Jerry Cox, Joe Burchett Jr., and Shawn Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be children and great-grandchildren.

LANCASTER -- Guy Addison, 83, of Lancaster, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 21, 1917, in Russell County, Va., he was a son of the late George W. and Lucy Litton Addison. He was Baptist and a retired county worker for Prince George County, Md.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald G. Addison and Col. Gary R. Addison; a daughter, Annette Clough; a brother, Fred Addison; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hagy Funeral Home in Norton, Va. Burial will be in Laurel Grove in Norton.
Visitation is 7-8 p.m. today and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Spurlin Funeral Home.

Ada B. Bishop
LOUISVILLE -- Ada Best Bishop, 79, of Louisville, formerly of Mercer County, died Friday at her home.
Born April 11, 1921, in Indianapolis, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Elton Ray and Florida Perry. She was a former lunchroom manager for the old Highview Christian Academy. She was a member of Buechel Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, R.D. Bishop; two sons, R.Gary and Larry D. Bishop; twin daughters, Brenda K. Ludwick and Glenda G. Giles; a sister, Eunice Cocanougher; two brothers, Walter and Billy Best; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, Louisville. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Mount Washington.
Visitation is noon-7 p.m. today.

Clifton "Crip" Mays
LIBERTY -- Clifton "Crip" Mays, 88, died Friday at Casey County Hospital.
Born Aug. 9, 1912 in Casey County, he was a son of the late Ethly and Ethel Bradey Mays. He was a retired employee of Herrington & Burner Steel Mill in Indianapolis, and a farmer. He was a member of Brush Creek Pentecostal Church. He was the widower of Dovie Lee Mays.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruby Alene Hayes of Liberty and Margaret Arvin Phillips of Mooresville, Ind.; a half-brother, Foster Mayes of Indiana; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel Whitehurst.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Shirley Denson and Dwight Coffman. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Visitation is after 8 a.m. today.

LANCASTER -- Amelia Wilson Rice, 88, of Cole Road, died Saturday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 15, 1912, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late J. Hill and Mary Woford Wilson. She was a farmer, homemaker and a member and pianist of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church. She belonged to the Lexington Road Homemakers. She was the widow of Homer B. Rice.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary R. Cole of Lancaster; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Browning. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Sarah N. Catlett
HARRODSBURG -- Sarah Kathryn Nichols Catlett, 73, of Hycliff Street died Thursday at University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center.
Born July 13, 1927, in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Blanche Prather Nichols. She was a community developer for Bluegrass Community Action Agency. She was a charter member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for several years. She also was a former pianist and song leader and was been on the church board of missions.
She was a graduate of Rose Hill High School and a member of Mercer County Homemakers for 52 years and was a past president. She was a former United Way board member, and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the Gideon Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Milton Catlett Jr.; two sons, Robert "Bobby" Catlett of Harrodsburg and Jerry D. Catlett of Lexington; a daughter, Penny C. Whiteside of Harrodsburg; a sister, Thelma Long of Mercer County; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Harrodsburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church by George Woodliff and Robert Johnson. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 5:30-8:30 p.m. today, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday and after 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.
