LIBERTY -- Gail Hicks, 54, of Junction City died Wednesday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Born March 27, 1947, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Ray Sallee, and had been raised by her grandmother, Pearl Fair. She was a homemaker and a member and treasurer at Wesleyan Church in Junction City.
Survivors include her husband, Merl Hicks; four sons, Kenny and Jeffrey Hicks, both of Junction City, David Hicks of Hustonville and Anthony Hicks of Moreland; a brother, Dennis Sallee of Danville; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bartle Funeral Home.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.

Rosie E. Holdam
CRAB ORCHARD -- Rosie E. Holdam, 83, of Ky. 39 died Thursday at her home.
Born Sept. 25, 1917, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late William and Jennie Hendrickson Holdam. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Hillard Foster of Crab Orchard; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Donald King and Paul Huber. Burial will be in Mount Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

LIBERTY -- Welby Knight, 77, of Salvisa died Thursday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born March 15, 1924, in Russell County, he was a son of the late Henry and Minerva Chumbley Knight. He was self-employed.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Marie Brown Knight; a son, Henry Lee Knight of Salvisa; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifford Dehart. Burial will be in South Fork Cemetery.

Agnes Smith
LIBERTY -- Agnes Smith, 78, of Hustonville died Wednesday at her home.
Born Aug. 22, 1922, in Wilder, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late William A. and Maggie Burden Worley. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Hewie Smith; two sons, Tyrone L. Smith of Hustonville and Phillip W. Smith of Elyria, Ohio; two brothers, Walter Worley of Arizona and Albert Worley of Florida; two sisters, Grace Smith of Ohio, and Ruby Scott of Tennessee; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Smith.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty First Baptist Church by Larry Davis. Burial will be in Agnes' Garden Cemetery.

Cinda Adams
WAYNESBURG -- Services for Cinda Adams, 88, of Pikeville, formerly of Eubank, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church by Roger Gibson, Jerry Caudill and Emory Caudill. Burial will be in Friendship Church Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at Mountain View nursing home in Elkhorn.
Born Nov. 3. 1913, in Letcher County, she was a daughter of the late Henry C. and Nancy J. Fields Whitaker. She was a homemaker and a member of Rose of Sharon Old Regular Baptist Church. She was the widow of Cro Adams.
Survivors include a son, Allen Keith Adams of Jeremiah; a daughter, Angeletta Adams of Pikeville; a sister, Roma Brock of Eubank; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, Delores Adams, Lenora Jones and Barbara Adams.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home and after noon Saturday at the church.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Dr. Richard C. Miller, 43, of Ben Ali Drive, Danville, died Wednesday in Danville.
He was a dentist, and the son of Velma Miller.
He also is survived by four children, Eavan, Brandt, Brehnan and Aaron Miller; and his fiancee, Misty Simpson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Woodbine Funeral Home, Nashville, Tenn., by Wendell Byrd. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

SCIENCE HILL -- Jeremy Carroll, 1-day-old, died Friday at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born Thursday in Lexington, and was a son of Clay and Leann Lawson Carroll of Eubank.
Additional survivors are a brother, Jaden Michael Carroll of Eubank; grandparents, Jimmy Lee and Linda Lawson of Eubank and Joe and Bridgett Carroll of Somerset; and great-grandparents, Shirley and Bill Anderson of Somerset.

Arthur L. Simpson
BALTIMORE, Md. -- Arthur L. Simpson, 92, former Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. executive, died July 18 at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care in Towson, Md.
He was general marketing supervisor for C&P; for 47 years before retiring in 1973. He was a graduate of Georgetown University and received a law degree from University of Baltimore.
He was a World War II veteran of the Army Signal Corps, and was active in the Towson YMCA, Baltimore Chapter of the Red Cross, Boy Scouts, United Way Telephone Pioneers of America, Rotary Club of Towson and Executives Association of Baltimore City.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Loretta Mansfield Simpson; a son, William M. Simpson of Danville; a daughter, Ann Lynn S. King of Jarrettsville, Md.; a brother, Joseph Brennan Simpson of Newport; and five grandchildren.
Services were at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Baltimore. Burial was in Loudon Park Cemetery.
Ruck Towson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Clifton Wheeler
LIBERTY -- Clifton Wheeler, 73, of Elkhorn died Thursday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Aug. 29, 1927, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Herbert and Maude Buck Wheeler. He was a retired Army veteran. He belonged to Pine Grove Community Church and Masonic Lodge in Kansas.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa G. Richards of Hamilton, Ohio; two sons, Douglas A. Wheeler of Hamilton and Kenneth R. Wheeler of Campbellsville; three brothers, Elmer Wheeler of Cincinnati, Cecil Wheeler of Detroit, Mich., and Melvin Wheeler of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Ruby Lawhorn of Russell Springs and Faye Terry of Liberty; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Jeff Edwards. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery.
Visitation is at noon Monday.
