William Dobies Jr.
William Dobies Jr., 61, of Fox Run Trail died Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born Nov. 1, 1941, in Wilmington, Dela., he was the son of Helen Davis Dobies of Wilmington and the late William Dobies Sr.
He was a retail grocery store director for Red Apple Grocers in New York. He was a graduate of Brown Vocational High School in Wilmington and member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Clementine Dobies; two daughters, Andrea M. Galloway of Hustonville and Donna M. Dobies of Fairbanks, Alaska; six brothers, John, James, David, Anthony, Michael and Richard Dobies, all of Wilmington; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. Lynh Nguyen. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Norma H. Farris
Norma Hampton Farris, 58, of Lincoln Avenue died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born March 20, 1944, in Bowling Green, she was the daughter of the late Doc W. and Media Addaline Embry Hampton. She was an interpreter for the Kentucky School for the Deaf and a member of the Kentucky Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, KSD Booster Club and the KSD Parent-Teacher Cottage Association. She belonged to Willow Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred Lee Farris; a daughter, Lisa Ducker of Danville; a son, Richard Farris of Danville; and a granddaughter.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Willow Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. David Fralix, Dale Denton, Kevin Kruetzer and Eddie Johnson. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Trent and Butch Farris, Charles Thompson, B.D. Lynch, Harold Lawson, Scott Ducker, Ronnie Jones and Jim Brock.
Memorials may go to the Kentucky School for the Deaf Charitable Foundation, 202 S. Second St., Danville.

William "Bill" F. Stearman
William "Bill" F. Stearman, 79, of Lisa Avenue died Sunday at Thompson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.
Born May 18, 1923, in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Foster Ray and Myrtle Marcum Stearman. He was a grocer and antique dealer. He was a charter member and elder emeritus at Indian Hills Christian Church. He also was chairman of the church board and mission committee, a Sunday school teacher and charter member of Men for Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Douglas Stearman; two daughters, Cheryl J. Stearman and Beverly K. Wolfe, both of Danville; a son, William Douglas Stearman of Lebanon, Tenn.; four brothers, David and Eudell Stearman, both of Hodgensville, Lee Stearman of Elizabethtown and James Stearman of Greensburg; a sister, Rachel Conrad of Butler; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Indian Hills Christian Church.

LIBERTY -- Hester Elizabeth Marple Allen, 89, of Butcher Street died Sunday at Liberty Care Center.
Born Jan. 28, 1913, in Atterson, she was the daughter of the late B. Roy and Nancy Belton Marple. She was the widow of Ubert Allen. She was a homemaker and member of Gum Lick Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Datha Eubanks of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Nelda Harlow of Liberty; a brother, Kermit Marple of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Edris Allen.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Stephen Martin. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Edith Tarter of Batavia, Ohio, and Geneva Brier of Lebanon, Ohio; a son, Charles Adams of Melbourne; a sister, Myrtle Dyehouse of Stanford; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Stinnett.

LANCASTER -- Lewis Carrier, 80, of Price Court died Thursday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born Nov. 26, 1922, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late George and Nannie Shearer Carrier. He was a retired foreman at Vogue Rattan in Lexington.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby McCane Carrier; a brother, Otis Carrier of Lancaster; and three sisters, Lennie Ray of Statesville, N.C., and Sallie B. Ray and Willie Underwood, both of Lancaster.

Born Aug. 1, 1930, in Waynesburg, he was the son of the late Dean and Nina Diamond Smith. He was a past master of Lincoln Masonic Lodge No. 60 F&AM;, a member of Lincoln Chapter No. 486 Order of the Eastern Star, Lexington Scottish Rite, a Kentucky Colonel, former District Deputy for Grand Lodge No. 21, York Rite, Gideons International and the Somerset Odd Fellows Lodge No. 238. He was a U.S. Air Force sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 44 years in the propane bottled gas business and was a member of the Somerset Baptist Temple.
Survivors include a son, Henry "Hank" Smith II of Berglangenbach, Germany; two daughters, Cindy Fields of Nicholasville and Sherry Carrender of Burnside; one stepdaughter, Gail Gastineau of Stanford; two brothers, Thomas Smith of Palm Bay, Fla., and Charles Smith of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sisters, Kathleen Sassman of Delavin, Ill., and Ellen Lawson of Covington; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
