LIBERTY -- Virginia Maxine Elliott, 57, of East Ky. 70 died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug., 26, 1945, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Milford H. and Eula Stone Howell. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Ann McDonald of Liberty, Sandy K. Elliott and Sharon R. Byrd, both of Yosemite, and Linda C. Wheeler of Bryant Ridge; a son, Robin Wayne Elliott of Liberty; a half brother, Jackie King of Somerset; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by C.B. Carman. Burial will be in Calvary Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today.

James H. Burns
HARRODSBURG -- James H. Burns, 71, of Salvisa died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born July 24, 1931, in Salvisa, he was the son of the late Roy and Ruth Best Burns. He was a minister for Mount Zion Methodist Church in Washington County and a retired state government information systems employee. He was a member of Claylick Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helena Burns of Salvisa; a daughter, Faith Burns of Washington, D.C.; and a son, David Burns of Frankfort.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Lowell Langfield, Don McKinney and Bobby Logue. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery, Lawrenceburg.
Pallbearers will be Leon Burns, John Wimsatt, Paul Terrell, Glenn Bugg, Jimmie Cocanougher, W.D. Cocanougher Jr., Todd Thompson and Gary Best.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. today and after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

LIBERTY -- Osbie Naaman Watson, 61, of Liberty died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 8, 1941, in Casey County, he was the son of Lois Ross Watson of Liberty and the late Lewis Watson. He was a farmer and a member of Willow Springs United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Morgan Watson; a daughter, Janet L. Irvin of Crab Orchard; two sisters, Gay Miles and Marilyn K. Watson, both of Liberty; two brothers, L.J. Watson of Liberty and George Watson of Westchester, Ohio; two grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. today at Willow Springs United Methodist Church by David Bowlin. Burial will be in Willow Springs Cemetery.
Visitation is prior to the service today at the church.

Buford Logue
HARRODSBURG -- Buford Logue, 81, of Larue Street died Sunday.
Born Jan. 2, 1921, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Jessie T. and Bertha Wilham Logue. He was a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II, having served in the South Pacific. He was a retired rural mail carrier and a member of Bruner's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Claunch Logue; a daughter, Rosetta L. Carey of Mercer County; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Tuesday until time of service.

Jane Ellen Faulconer Marcum, 74, died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born Feb. 14, 1928, in Lexington, she was a daughter of the late Bailey P. and Nancy E. Sons Faulconer. A graduate of Lafayette High School and University of Kentucky, she was a retired office manager and bookkeeper for Farmer's Warehouse in Danville. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and was an Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center auxiliary volunteer.
Survivors include her husband, Morse L. Marcum; a daughter, Gaile Blair of Danville; a brother, Frank D. Faulconer of Lexington; and two grandchildren.

Bernice L. Stephenson
Bernice L. Stephenson, 90, of Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation, formerly of Portsmouth, Va., died Dec. 3 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 31, 1912, in Castell, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Lee Fritz and Ida Weideman Liefeste. She was a registered nurse and served in the Navy Nurse Corp. in World War II, where she earned the rank of second lieutenant. She was a member of West End United Methodist Church and Richard Dale Women's Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Marsha S. Hinton of Danville and Mary Lynn Douglass of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Dorothy L. Harmon of Kansas City, Kans.; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Dec. 7 at Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Anna M. Bowden, 75, died Friday at Ball Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 17, 1927, in Stanford, she was a daughter of the late James and Clara Redeker Woods. She was retired from Superior Laundry and a member of Muncie Christian Center. She was the widow of Charlie Bowden.
Survivors include a son, William Bowden of Muncie; a brother, James Woods of Danville; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Parson Mortuary in Muncie by Tim and Marji King. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

HARRODSBURG -- Roy Lee Burrus, 43, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday in Springfield.
Born Jan. 5, 1959, in Fayette County, he was a son of the late Edna Burrus Coates. He was a member of Quinn Methodist Church in Lexington.
Survivors include two uncles, Davis Burrus of Mayo and Jimmie Burrus of Jessamine County; three aunts, Elizabeth Burrus, Alma Meaux, and Opal Sigar, all of Harrodsburg; a special companion, Karen Chenault of Lexington; a special cousin, Kendall Patton of Harrodsburg; and a number of other cousins.
Services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Parks Funeral Home by the Rev. Mary White. A private burial will be held later.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. until time for service Monday.

LIBERTY -- Mattie Murphy Decker, 84, of Tazewell, Tenn., formerly of Casey County, died Friday.
Born Sept. 5, 1918, in Casey County, she was a daughter of Lucy Murphy and the late George Wesley Murphy. She was the widow of Claude Decker.
Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Hopper and Juanita Russell, both of Tennessee, and Olowen Elmore of Liberty; a son, Johnny Decker of Indiana; two sisters, Myrtle Harmon of Danville and Helena McDonald of Liberty; two brothers, Sherman and Edward Murphy, both of Liberty; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be noon Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifford DeHart. Burial will be in Luttrell Cemetery.

Robinson C. Freeman
HARRODSBURG -- Robinson C. Freeman, 78, of Mackville Road, died Friday at Danville Center For Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Jan. 7, 1924, in Harrodsburg, he was a son of the late Wheeler and Dora Robinson Freeman. He was co-owner of Burley Tobacco Warehouse in Danville and Freeman Brother's Warehouse in Harrodsburg and Madison, Fla. He also was co-owner of Garrard County Stockyards in Lancaster for several years. He was a tobacco auctioneer and an avid road horse enthusiast. He and his brothers were inducted into the American Road Horse and Pony Association Hall of Fame in 1986. In 1994, he was selected Garrard County Outstanding Businessman of the year.
He was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II, where he earned the rank of sergeant and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalind Donovan Freeman; two daughters, Marsha Leavell of Danville and Brenda Kuhn of Louisville; two brothers, Edwin and Marshall Freeman, both of Harrodsburg; and a grandson.
Services are 2 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Robert DeFoor. Burial is in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are William and Milward Dedman, Bill Barnett, Gene Barber, Paul Saunders and Dr. Warren Nash. Honorary pallbearers are Jack, Tommy and James Freeman, Lafon Darland, Sonny Hunt, Willie "Jack Rabbit" Bottoms, Joe Stevens and Buddy Purdom.
