LIBERTY -- Elvie Lee, 94, of Clyde Bell Road, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born May 12, 1908 in Casey County, he was a son of the late Henry Lee and Catherine Hicks Lee. He was a former logger and farmer and the widower of Etta Wethington Lee and .
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn Gibson of Indianapolis, Ind. and Phyllis Wethington of Liberty; two sons, Garnett L. and Albert "Bo" Lee, both of Liberty; 20 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Leslie "Bubby" Lee; and three daughters, Virginia Doss, Carolyn Payton and Anna G. Cundiff.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Bartle Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Larry Davis and Bro. Wayne Naylor. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lonzy "Red" McDonald
LIBERTY -- Lonzy "Red" McDonald, 80, of Memory Drive, Liberty, died Saturday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born May 6, 1922, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Luther and Tilda Catherine Luttrell McDonald. He was a retired plumber and electrician and a veteran of U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member and trustee of Walnut Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helena Murphy McDonald of Liberty; a brother, Freddie McDonald of Liberty; a grandson, his mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky and Gary McDonald.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Bro. Clifton Cowan and Bro. Don Berton. Burial will be in Murphy Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

George D. Wearen
HARRODSBURG -- George D. Wearen, 85, of East Poplar, Harrodsburg, died Friday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 18, 1917, in Russellville, he was the son of the late William Ben and Crickett Terrill Wearen. He was a co-owner of Wearen and James Drug in Harrodsburg for 40 years and member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church. He also served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Drue G. Wearen of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Diane Joyner of Richmond and Margo Carey of Dayton, Ohio; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Spring Hill Cemetery by Don Chase.There will be no visitation.
Memorials may got to Heritage Hospice of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Services for J. Jeffrey Clark, 47, of Old Goggin Road will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church by Rev. Phil Rector. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
He died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Montgomery H. Hounchell
STANFORD -- The Rev. Montgomery H. Hounchell, 89, of McKinney died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 4, 1913, in Manchester, he was the son of the late Theophelus and Emma Dezaren Hounchell. He was a retired Church of God minister and served at the general offices of the First Church of God in Anderson, Ind. He held doctorate of Bible philosophy degree and a bachelor of theology degree from the Pioneer Theological Seminary. He also held a bachelor of law degree from the American School of Law.
He had served on the Lincoln County Social Services Advisory Committee for a number of years, the Lincoln County Ambulance Board and the Lincoln County Senior Citizens Board, having served as chairman for five years.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Sims Hounchell; a son, Wayne T. Hounchell of Hustonville; two daughters, Sondra J. Fox of Collinsville, Ill., and Lanette Slone of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home by the Revs. David Watson and Douglas Talley. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Heath Yakstis, Stephen Selby, Marvin Wilson, Bobby Gifford, Scott Slone and Jerry Moore.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today.

J. Jeffrey Clark, 47, of Old Goggin Road died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 4, 1955, in Lexington, he was the son of Edward and Suzanne Bradshaw Clark of Danville. He was owner and manger of Ridgefield Storage and former owner of Clarks Asphalt Sealing Co. and Ridgefield Car Wash. He was a 1974 graduate of Danville High School, attended University of Kentucky and was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Corcoran Clark; a daughter, Caitlin Ann Clark of Danville; a son, John Casey Clark of Danville; a sister, Susannah Clark-Cook of Danville; and a brother, Mitchell Edward Clark of Danville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday at Stith Funeral Home.

Francis G. Hopp
ALMONT, Mich. -- Francis George Hopp, 83, of Almont, formerly of Danville, died Dec. 26 at his home.
Born Sept. 2, 1919, in Washington Township, Mich., he was the son of George and Ina Balch Hopp. He was an employee of the Utica school district and was a former employee of National Machine Co. in Utica. He had served in the Army during World War II, and was a 36-year member of the American Legion 351 of Utica. He also was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Washington Township and a life-member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline McInerney Hopp; a daughter, Marguerite Monson of Danville; two brothers, Harold Hopp and Lyle Hopp, both of Almont; a sister, Eileen Hopp of Romeo, Mich.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 28 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Mich., by Lynn Witt. Burial was in Mount Avon Cemetery in Rochester, Mich.

COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Lorene D. Hundley, 80, of Columbus died Monday at her home.
Born Jan. 5, 1922, in Perryville, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Rena Anderson Cummins. She was an employee for 28 years of Cummins Engine Co. and a member of Hoosier Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda G. Wise and Theresa K. Ellis, both of Columbus, and Carolyn L. Haymaker of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a son, Bill Hundley of Ladson, S.C.; two sisters, Clara B. Duncan of Louisville and Ruby K. Yankey of Danville; two brothers, Walter M. Cummins and Ralph Cummins, both of Danville; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. -- Johnnie L. Pennington, 75, of Shelbyville died Wednesday at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis.
Born Nov. 22, 1927, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Chester Pennington and Nillie Cole. He was an employee of Ford Motor Co. for several years and an Army veteran.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Services for Mary Elizabeth Saylor Blanton, 90, of Turkeytown Road will be 1 p.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Coldiron family cemetery.
She died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
She had been a member of Turkeytown Baptist Church before it burned, and was a current member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church.

Mary Alice Spurill, 79, of Lexington, formerly of Danville, died Monday at her home.
Born June 26, 1923, in Moreland, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Carrie Jones Pruitt. She was retired after being an employee of Danville Laundry and Centre College, and a member of First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut streets.
Survivors include two sons, Robert G. Brown of Richmond and Frank Guest of Lexington; a daughter, Ruth Ann Logan of Lexington; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery.

Saylor of Middletown, Ohio; a sister, Margaret Hassett of Miamisburg, Ohio; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Marvin J. Blanton.
