LANCASTER -- Lucy C. Moore West, 89, of Long Branch Drive died Thursday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 4, 1913, in Knox County, she was the daughter of the late Martin P. and Mary Jenkins Moore. She was cook at Buckeye High School, having retired after 33 years. She was a member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Russell West of Windsor, Pa.; a daughter, Sedonia Edgington of Lancaster; a sister, Lillian Browning of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ralph West; a daughter, Elizabeth Ray; and a grandson.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Jerry Browning and Billy Jackson. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Norman Oliver, Larry Browning, Hogan Moore, James Gilbert and Alan Edgington, Willie Ray, Rusty West and J.D. East.
Honorary pallbearers are Lisa West, Teresa Drew, Melinda Dailey, Regina Meadows, Glenna Adams and Janet Caudill.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

STANFORD -- Services for Rosetta Burchfield, 68, of Stanford will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Spurlin Funeral Home by Roger Stevens. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
She died Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born Feb. 16, 1934, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence "Cash" and Mattie Wardlow. She was a retired employee of Cowden's Manufacturing Co. and the widow of Robert Burchfield.
Survivors include a son, David Burchfield of Crab Orchard; a daughter, Brenda Frederick of Stanford; two brothers, Richard Wardlow and Shug Wardlow of Crab Orchard; a sister, Anna Mae Hopkins of Crab Orchard; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Velma A. Acton
SCIENCE HILL -- Velma Abbott Acton, 87, of Eubank died Tuesday at her home.
Born Aug. 29, 1915, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late John and Cora Larkin Abbott. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Crab Orchard.
Survivors include a son, Claude J. Acton of Woodstock; a sister, Marie Smith of Crab Orchard; a brother, Shelva Abbott of Highland Heights; two grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home by Noah Broughton. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery.

LANCASTER -- Colleen W. Ross, 73, of Lexington died Wednesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born Nov. 21, 1929, in Letcher County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel M. and Mary Bell Colliver Wright. She was a retired clerk with the Internal Revenue Service and a member of Woodland Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Kenton Ross; a daughter, Latisha Neff of Wichita Falls, Texas; two brother, Henry E. Wright of Johnson City, Tenn., and Cowles H. Wright of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Judith Mulvaney of Kinmundy, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Paint Lick Cemetery by the Rev. Jeanette Lucas.
There will be no visitation.

Born Oct. 16, 1920, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Hollis and Dovie Young Warren. She was an employee of GENESCO and a graduate of Junction City High School. She was a member of the Senior Companion program and Junction City Baptist Church. She was the widow of Frank M. Mitchell.
Survivors include three sons, Edwin C. Mitchell of Henryville, Ind., Jesse W. Mitchell of Junction City and Larry K. Mitchell of Stanford; two daughters, Betty Griffith and Linda Deskins, both of Danville; a brother, Millard Warren of Danville; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
