PERRYVILLE -- Services for Gilliam Alva Sheperson, 88, of Perryville were today at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. John David Lane. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
He died Wednesday at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Pallbearers were Robert and Brian Sheperson, David Gibson, Tommy Gaines, Alva Lynn Stinnett and Robert Polsgrove. Honorary pallbearers were Garland Barrick, Clayton Martin, Buddy Lutes and Edwin Reynolds.

James R. Adams
LANCASTER -- Services for James R. Adams, 80, of Buckeye Road will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Glenn Spann and Howard Coop. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion.
He died Thursday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Oct. 5, 1922, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Kerney and Elizabeth Cain Adams. He was a self-employed electrical contractor and a member of Gunns Chapel United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II and recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service in the European Theater.
Survivors include his wife, Goldie Estes Adams; three sons, Rodney Adams, Phillip Adams and Barry Adams, all of Lancaster; four daughters, Nancy Newby and Alesia Sallee, both of Lancaster, Judy Guy of Nicholasville and Ellen Kiser of Lexington; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.

STANFORD -- Services for Anna Hubbard Estes, 77, of North Maywood Road will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home by Vola Brown and Bill Rhodus. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Reg-ional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 13, 1925, in Dan-ville, she was the daughter of the late Monterville and Dolly Hicks Hubbard. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church.
She was the widow of Lewis Estes.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie Estes of Stanford; a daughter, Louann Estes of Stanford; a brother, Charles "Hub" Hubbard of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Dolly Pulliam of Dayton, Ohio, and Alice Rogers of Kings Mountain; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son, Montie Estes.
Pallbearers will be John and Gary Estes, Larry and Vick Pulliam, William and Lanny Hubbard and Marty Clarkson.

Born June 11, 1913, in Yosemite, she was the daughter of the late James and America Durham. She was a retired Casey County High School cook and the widow of Luther Pittman and George Hatter.
Survivors include four daughters, Ruth Starnes and Gloria Bastin, both of Middleburg, Joann Partin of Mount Vernon and Bessie Smith of Mount Salem; five sons, Bobby Pittman of Middleburg, Bennie Pittman of Cincinnati, James W. Pittman of Moores Hill, Ind., and Danny and Larry Pittman, both of Florence; 40 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and four stepchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Effie Haggard.

Survivors include a daughter, Christy C. Hoynoski of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; two sons, Bruce N. Hogue and Adam W. Hogue, both of Jamestown; a sister, Dorothy Whited of Liberty; a brother, Charles Hogue of Liberty; and two grandchildren.

WAYNESBURG -- Johnnie Griffin Sr., 67, of Waynesburg died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Feb. 3, 1935, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Opal Denny Griffin. He was a retired foreman for the Ohio Pattern Works Corp. in Cincinnati and an Army veteran having achieved the rank of sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Anna L. Coleman Griffin; a son, Johnnie Griffin Jr. of Somerset; three daughters, Judith Herring of Richmond and Debbie Hamm and Kathleen Dickerson, both of New Richmond, Ohio; two brothers, Bob Griffin of Amelia, Ohio, and Billy Griffin of Lebanon, Ind.; five sisters, Dorothy Guthrie of Gridley, Ill., Clara Eakle of Newman, Ill., Kathy Muller of Jamestown, Ind., and Sandy Hinkle and Beatrice McCoy, both of Lebanon, Ind.; a stepbrother, James R. Ritter of Lebanon, Ind.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John D. Griffin.

Born Nov. 24, 1918, in Shelby County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Myrtie Club Roberts. He was a farmer, a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Ballardsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Smith Roberts; three sons, Brook Roberts of Danville, Ronnie Roberts of LaGrange and Glenn Roberts of Frankfort; a granddaughter whom she raised, Geneva Ann Bryant of Danville; and five grandchildren.

Joseph "Joe" William Griffin Jr., 81, of Alexander Drive, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born April 11, 1921, in Albany, he was the son of the late Joseph William and Mary Etta Lee Griffin. He worked at American Greetings for 18 years and Kentucky Central Life as an insurance agent for 23 years. He was a member of the Junction City Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Griffin of Danville; two sons, Joe W. Griffin of Harrodsburg and Chris J. Griffin of Junction City; two daughters, Nickie S. Thompson and Sheree M. Kidd, both of Junction City; a sister, Mary E. White of Louisville; a step-daughter, Tina Goode of Hustonville; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Born Dec. 6, 1933, in Madison County, he was the son of the late Mike Lane and Peggy Upthegrove Noe. He was a retired electrical supervisor and member of Burgin Baptist Church.
