MORELAND -- Services for Dallas Gene Jeffries, 69, of Hustonville were Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Revs. G.W. Smith and James M. Lynn. Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery.
He died Wednesday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born Oct. 15, 1933, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Forest and Voudis Followell Jeffries. He was a retired crane operator, belonged to McKinney Depot Cruisers Car Club, and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Brown Jeffries; two sons, Greg Jeffries of Jacktown and Scott Jeffries of Moreland; a daughter, Marcie Ellis of Hustonville; a brother, Shirley Jeffries of Casey County; three sisters, Patsy Hounchell of Hustonville, Sadie Russell of Ellisburg and Wanda Smith of Mount Salem; and five grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Keith, Kevin and Bruce Smith, and Elwood, Ervin, Dave, Mike and Hershel Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were Henry Lutes, Harold Walker, Steve and Rick Russell, Charles Brown, J.W. Pemberton, Joe Smiley and Wendell Smith.

Paul L. Hawn
HAMILTON, Ohio -- Paul L. Hawn, 76, of Hamilton, formerly of Danville, died Saturday Fort Hamilton Hospital.
Born in Morgan County, Tenn., he was a son of the late Perry and Addie Johnson Hawn. He was a member of the First Church of God and was owner-operator of carpet stores for 50 years before he retired in 1992. He also ran Paul's Needful Things for 10 years and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Turner Hawn; three sons, Randy, Rodney and Ronnie Hawn, all of Fairfield, Ohio; a stepson, Timothy Turner of Trenton, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Julie Smith of Seven Mile, Ohio; three sisters, Willie Caldwell of Danville, Lorene Heaberlin of Grayson, and Pauline Lieriemann of Mannsville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Services were Wednesday at Brown Dawson Funeral Home in Hamilton. Burial was in Hickory Flat Cemetery.

Born Oct. 30, 1930, in Jessamine County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Robert Alcorn and Ruth Henninger Alcorn. She was the widow of Vincent Sheperson. She retired after working 39 years at Corning of Harrodsburg and was a member of Dry Branch Baptist Church
Survivors include a daughter, Julie Lister of Harrodsburg; a brother, Roy Alcorn of Lexington; a sister, Juanita Drury of Lexington, a granddaughter; and a great granddaughter.
Visitation will be between 3-9 p.m. Sunday and after 7 a.m. Monday.

LIBERTY -- Edna E. Godbey, 81, of Bethelridge died Saturday at her home.
Born Feb. 19, 1922, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Harlin and Leattie Jasper Vaught. She was a homemaker and the widow of Oral D. Godbey. She was a member of Valley Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mathel Acey of Science Hill and Mavis Burton of Edinburg, Ind.; a son, Marvin Godbey of Bethelridge; a grandchild whom she raised, Janet Dick of Nancy; a brother, Milford Vaught of Edinburg, Ind.; a sister, Flora Little of Ludlow; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David R. Godbey.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Valley Oak Baptist Church by the Revs. Troy Merrick and Bobby Clark. Burial will be in Valley Oak Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Acey, Alan Godbey, Brian and Derrick Patton, Tyler Dick and Jonathan Ware.

STANFORD -- Bertha Louise Turner Gover, 88, of Stanford House nursing home died Sunday.
Born March 10, 1914, in Harlan County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lila Frost Turner. She was a homemaker and a member of Stanford Baptist Church. She was the widow of Sam Gover.
Survivors are nieces and nephews, including, Lila T. Oliver of Lancaster, Edna Underwood of Danville, and Anne L. Kirkpatrick and James T. Gover, both of Stanford.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Born Feb. 20, 1923, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Lillard and Sybil McGuffey Plummer. He was retired after 38 years with Ford Motor Co. and a member of Masonic Lodge 678 in Mason, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife, Millie E. Vanover Plummer of Waynesburg; two daughters, Vickie L. Talent of Pelham, Ala., and Kathy J. Jones of Hillard, Ohio; a sister, Margaret Deboard of Stanford; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at McKnight Funeral Home by Cecil Roundtree. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Eubank.
