Delman W. Maggard
WAYNESBURG -- Graveside services for Delman Wayne Maggard, 66, of Salem, Ind., will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Double Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Brad King.
He died Monday at Norton's Hospital in Louisville.
Born July 16, 1936, in Waynesburg, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Mary Mitchell Maggard. He was a retired employee of Fischer Packing Co., a member of a Baptist church in Corydon, Ind., an Army veteran and the widower of Betty Hardin Maggard.
Survivors include two sons, Nelson Maggard of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kevin Maggard of Salem; two daughters, Rhonda Patty of Silvers Springs, Nev., and Karen Haub of Salem; a stepson, Dale Hardin of Louisville; a stepdaughter, Donna Hardin of Louisville; two sisters, Bryna Sizemore of Waynesburg and Laura May of Louisville; and nine grandchildren.
No visitation is planned.

Effie T. Snyder
LANCASTER -- Services for Effie J. Tuttle Snyder, 81, of Hillcrest Avenue will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ramsey Funeral Home by Dale Ballinger, the Rev. Barry Jeffries and Steve Horn.
She died Monday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington. Born July 11, 1921, in Knox County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Foley Tuttle. She was a homemaker, a member of Garrard County Historical Society and Bethel Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school for 30 years. She was the widow of J.C. Snyder.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann West of Lancaster; a son, Johnny Snyder of Lancaster; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be E.J. Hasty, Bobby Durham, Clyde Sherrow, Curt, Jerry and Bill Carrier. Honorary pallbearers are Pat Ballard and members of the women's Sunday school class at Bethel Baptist Church.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Nellie Harlow
HARRODSBURG -- Services for Nellie Harlow, 91, of Dixie Manor will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Robert DeFoor. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born May 17, 1911, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Moland and Annie Sims Derr. She was a former seamstress with Sportleigh Hall and had worked in the cafeteria in Harrodsburg schools. She was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday school class. She was the widow of Evan Harlow.
Survivors include a son, Joe Harlow of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Phyllis Brown and Evelyn Morris, both of Harrodsburg; a sister, Juanita Burns of Mercer County; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and a step great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Derr, Jerry and Randy Burns, Bobby, Rodney and Adrian Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are member of Joy Sunday school class.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Iva Lynette Vickery of Aiken, S.C., died Saturday at her home.
Born in Lancaster, S.C., she was the daughter of Ray and Iva Mae Baker Hegler of Aiken. She had been an office manager for S.E. Peters Inc. and was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffery Vickery, formerly of Danville; two daughters, Saralyn P. Vickery of Aiken and April V. Storey of Batesburg, S.C.; two brothers, Gareth and Barry Hegler of Aiken; a sister, Beverly H. Pilz of Aiken; and two grandsons.
Services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Town Creek Baptist Church in Aiken by the Revs. Gareth Hegler and David Laird, Donald Pope and Greg Williams. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.

HARRODSBURG -- Ruby Mullins, 81, of Bellows Mill Road died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 27, 1921, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Sallee Lyons. She was a retired seamstress, having worked 41 years at Sportleigh Hall and Cricketeer. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the widow of Steve Mullins.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Mullins of Inverness, Fla., and Jerry Mullins of Palmetto, Fla.; a daughter, Loretta Robins of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Sam Banks Sr.
Sam Banks Sr., 96, of Hot Springs, Ark., formerly of Burgin, died Friday at his home.
Born March 23, 1906, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Levi Penix and Cynthia Banks Faulkner. He was a horse groom for Oaklawn Race track and widower of Juanita Gray Banks. He was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church in Burgin.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Patton of Harrodsburg, Sue Gooch of Stanford, Maxine Flournoy of Louisville and Marie Woodford of Hot Springs, Ark.; a son, Sam Banks Jr. of Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister, Bell Cowan of Louisville; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Little Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Philip Yater. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

James W. Cherry
STANFORD -- James "Jim" W. Cherry, 76, died Saturday at Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington.
Born Nov. 10, 1926, in Murfreesboro, Tenn., he was the son of the late Wheeler M. and Florence Bybee Cherry. He was an engineer and owner and founder of Cherokee Sales Corporation. He was a member of Stanford Christian Church, past president of the Chamber of Commerce, and held memberships in Rotary Club, 32nd degree Shriners and Bluegrass Area Development Board.
He was a graduate of Central High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School with a degree in engineering, Middle Tennessee State University and attended Vanderbilt Law School.
Survivors include his wife, Susan B. Cherry; a son, James G. Cherry of Stanford; a daughter, Susan A. Cherry of Arlington, Va.; a sister, Clara Todd of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and two grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Russell Smith. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Monday and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

LIBERTY -- Barbara C. Harmon, 50, of Cincinnati, died Thursday in Hamilton, Ohio.
Born Dec. 31, 1952, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Ruby L. Johnson Cochran. She was a member of Campbellsville Brethren in Christ Church.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Harmon of Lexington; and two sons, George Harmon of Oxford, Ohio, Timmy Cochran of Oxford, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a son and daughter.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifford DeHart. Burial will be in Whited Cemetery.

He was a teacher and a Baptist minister. He was a member of Bullitt Lodge 155, Scottish Rite Bullitt Country Club, Eastern Star, Star of Hope and Little Flock Baptist Church. He also attended Grace Memorial.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Land; his mother, Della Land; two daughters, Cheryl Takayama of Cordova, Tenn. and Paula Walters of Winter Haven, Fla.; two sons, Donald Land of Fort Louis, Wash. and James Land of Kyle, Texas; a sister, Doris Davis of Stanford and six grandchildren.
Services were held 11 a.m. Friday at Hardy-Close Funeral Home by Charles Meador. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery.
