Ola G. Cody
Ola Gardner Cody, 84, of Seminole Trail, died Friday at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center.
Born July 18, 1918, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Matt and Laura Conn Gardner. She was a second-grade teacher at Mary G. Hogsett Elementary School and also taught high school English, biology and history. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Somerset High School and earned degrees from Cumberland College and the University of Kentucky and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Matthews of Seymour, Tenn.; two sons, Jack Cody of Danville and Mike Cody of Frankfort; a sister, Lou Smith of Rock Island, Ill.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home by Dr. Thomas K. Farmer. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may go to The Presbyterian Church.

Lauton Turpin
Lauton Turpin, 68, of Cream Ridge Road, died Friday at his home.
Born Sept. 21, 1934, in Casey County, he was the son of the late George Washington and Della Baxter Turpin. He was a farmer, woodworker and gardener.
Survivors include five sisters, Hazel Rogers, Lucille West and Mildred Reynolds, all of Junction City, Lula Lester of Shelbyville and Mabel Lechok of Harrodsburg; and two brothers, Hubert and Estell Turpin, both of Harrodsburg.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Shirley B. Burrus
HARRODSBURG -- Shirley B. Burrus, 52, of West Broadway, died Friday at her home.
Born April 10, 1950, in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Alice Chenault Burrus. She was a factory worker for Reliance Corporation in Lawrenceburg and a graduate of Kentucky State University. She was a member of Centennial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, William "Dude" White of Lexington; a brother, Harrison Burrus Jr. of Lexington; four sisters, Margaret A. Burrus of Harrodsburg, Anita Burrus of Louisville and Gertrude and Charlotte Burrus, both of Lexington.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Centennial Baptist Church by J.D. Short III.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Mikel Robinson, Phillip VanDyke, James Bryant, Glen Walker and Harvey and Dave Cheanault.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
The Parks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn M. Mason
LIBERTY -- Evelyn Marie Mason, 81, died Friday.
Born March 31, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Cleo Passmore Poff. She was a homemaker and member of Hill Top Church of Christ.
Survivors include six sons, Larry and George Mason, both of Cincinnati, Dave and John Mason of Edinburg, Ind., J.C. Mason of Columbus, Ind., Glen Mason of Liberty; four daughters, Lorene Hafley of Nicholasville, Liz Jones, Elaine Harris and Linda McQueary, all of Liberty; a brother, Eugene Poff of Liberty; two sisters, Juanita Thompson and Carol Wilson, both of Liberty; 36 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver H. Mason and a son, Lewis Mason.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Marvin Cromer. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mildred Perkins
HARRODSBURG -- Mildred Perkins, 79, of Milton, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Friday at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Ind.
Born Jan. 15, 1924, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late R.W. and Verdie Mae Mooreland King. She worked for 17 years in the customer service department of Sears in Lexington and was a member of Shawnee Run Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Perkins; two daughters, Cecile Martin of Lexington and Phyllis G. Davis of Milton; a sister, Dorothy Murphy of Lexington; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home by the Rev. Ferrill Davis and Lester Tirey.
Pallbearers will be Ray and Robbie Davis, David Perkins, William R. Grimes, Jason and Doug Martin and Lee Sharpe.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Roselea Peavler
HARRODSBURG -- Services for Roselea Peavler, 58, of Harrodsburg Health Care Manor, were Wednesday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home by Joe Smith and Jack Geurin. Burial was in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
She died Feb. 3 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1944, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Garnett and Nettie Rae Satterly Peavler. She attended the Shakertown Baptist Church and loved to be around people.
Survivors include two brothers, Glenn Peavler of Harrodsburg and Garnett Peavler Jr. of Garrard County; two nieces and a nephew.
Pallbearers were Monty Trower, Charley Stinnett, Bobby J. Blacketer, Scotty Hammons, Joe Monroe and Michael Griffieth.

Mary E. Saylor
HARRODSBURG -- Services for Mary Elizabeth Saylor were 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home by James Harley. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
She died Jan. 30 in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Born Oct. 5, 1928, in Burgin, she was the daughter of the late Lindsay and Mable Harris Brown. She was a retired nurse who formerly worked at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was a member of Estero Baptist Church in Fla.
Survivors include her husband, William A. Saylor; two brothers, Worley Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Charles Brown of Perryville; three sisters, Velma Britvec, Mildred Spry and Juanita Meyer, all of Norwood, Ohio.
Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 7 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Basil Walling
HARRODSBURG -- Services for Basil Walling, 68, Bohon Road, will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home in Versailles by Jack Geurin and Claude Waldridge. Burial with military honors will be in Lexington Cemetery.
He died Thursday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Nov. 29, 1934, in Winchester, he was the son of the late John and Lillie Warner Walling. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and former grocery store owner. He is the former owner of Barbara's Restaurant in Harrodsburg, was a realtor and auctioneer and lifetime member of Veteran's of Foreign Wars. He was a former member of Harrodsburg Ruritan Club, the Teamster's Union, a former bus driver, operated a water delivery truck, enjoyed fishing and loved working with animals.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Walling; two daughters, Cathy Craig of Lexington and Beverly W. Sagraves of Harrodsburg; four brothers, Ben and Marcus Walling of Versailles, Bill Walling of Waddy, and Jerry Walling of Frankfort; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John and Ricky Walling, Tim Buck, Benny Walling, Enoch Smith and Gary Gamble Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marsdon Lake, David Vinyard, Junior Darnell, Emily Craig, Jordan Craig, Brandon and Austin Sagraves and Kim Guyunn.
Visitation was 5-9 p.m. Saturday and 4-8 p.m. today at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.

John Lee West
FRANKFORT -- John Lee West, 75, of Frankfort died Wednesday at his home.
Born Dec. 28, 1927, in Danville, he was the son of the late Ruben and Myrtle Jones West.
He was a graduate of Danville High School and attended Centre College. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was retired from the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives, having managed the building and renovation of 103 library projects in 92 counties. Following his retirement, he worked at Keeneland for several years. He was the widower of Jane Downs West.
Survivors include two daughters, Robyn O'Daniel and Amy Hamons, both of Frankfort; a son, Eric West of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Freeman of Danville; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Rogers Funeral Home.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Lester Dotson
Services for Lester Dotson, 85, of Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. John Will Dodson. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
He died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
