HARRODSBURG -- Services for Opal Demaree, 90, of Hillcrest Street will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Robert DeFoor and Jack Geurin.
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 27, 1912, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Elvin and Zilpha Donovan Long. She was a third-grade teacher in the Harrodsburg school system and a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church, Mercer County Senior Citizens, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and Business and Professional Women's Club.
She was the widow of Moss Christman, James Demaree and William P. Demaree.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Ann Demaree of Lexington; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Sims of Danville.
Pallbearers will be Vernice, Don and Ronnie Long, R.C. Devine, Tommy Pinkston and Charles Stratton.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of her Sunday school class.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday.

Howard C. Alcorn
Howard C. Alcorn, 90, of Cleveland died Monday In Cleveland, Ohio.
Born in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late George and Estella Alcorn. He was retired from General Motors and owner of Alcorn and Moody Jewelry Store in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of Jacobs Chapel AME Church in Turnersville, Lincoln County.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, including Melvin Alcorn of Danville.
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Highland Park Memorial Cemetery In Cleveland.

Lester Dotson, 85, of Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation died today at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born July 10, 1917, in Madison County, he was the son of the late Alvin and Lucy Smith Dodson. He was a construction worker with Horky Construction Co. and the widower of Edith White Dotson.
Survivors include two sons, James R. Dotson of Danville and Lester L. Dotson of Stanford; a daughter, Ada Harris of Hickory, N.C.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Friday.

William Dollins
Services for William Kenneth "Billy" Dollins, 74, of Stanford will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Revs. Barry Jeffries and Jimmy Owens. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Boyle Post 46.
He died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born Aug. 2, 1928, in Garrard County, he was the son of Flora Jane Cottrell King of Lancaster the late Virgil W. Dollins. He was a retired owner of Dollins, Herndon Ford Mercury dealership in Stanford. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of Lancaster Baptist Church, and a graduate of Paint Lick High School.
He was a 46-year Mason, member of Franklin Lodge 28 F&AM;, Oleika Temple Marching Patrol of Lexington and all York Rite Bodies.
He also was past president of Stanford Rotary Club and a former director of the Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Colleen Owens Dollins; a son, Mark W. Hogue of Stanford; two daughters, Rita Carlisle of Louisville and Billie J. "Peanut" Dollins of Lexington; a sister, Mona J. Hammons of West Carrollton, Ohio; three stepsisters, Deanna Layton of Cincinnati, Doris Marsee of Lancaster and Nancy McQuerry of Lancaster; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John and Terry Owens, Jimmy Kirkpatrick, Tommy Barlow, Bob Marshbanks, Earl McQuerry, Jerry Harmon and Bill Ed Leedy.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today with a Masonic service.

Born Aug. 8, 1909, in Cookeville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Arus T. and Minnie A. Waits Lewis. She had been a one-room schoolteacher in Clinton County and a secretary in Fayette County schools. She attended Broadway Christian Church in Lexington and was the widow of Roscoe L. Grider.
Survivors include a son, Arnold Grider of Danville; a daughter, Iris Goggin of Danville; a brother, Forrest Lewis of Cincinnati; a sister, Marie Talbott of Albany; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Walter L., John, Steve, Zeke and Lewis Goggin, Heath Mullins, Warren Rogers and Lee Grider.
