Helen H. Lair

STANFORD -- Services for Helen Harrington Lair, 85, of East Main Street will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. James Erwin. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

She died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 22, 1917, in Calumet, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Dennis D. and Margaret Lowe Harrington. She was a homemaker, member of Stanford Presbyterian Church, a Centre College graduate and the widow of Henry C. Lair.

Survivors include four sons, Denny Lair, Tim Lair and Shea Lair, all of Stanford, and Pat Lair of Georgetown; two sisters, Margaret "Peg" Swonk of Skokie, Ill., and Dorothy "Dot" Williams of Lake Linden, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Mangam, Mike Williams, Luke Timmons, Don Niemela, Aaron Fezzey and Rick Fraser.

Honorary pallbearers are Verna Campbell, Helen Ward, Walker Noe, Alvin Gander, Hugh Helm, Letch Oberle, Terry Swonk and Bob Faut.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday.

Mary E. Gay, 90, of Danville, formerly of Indiana, mother of Pat Cooper of Danville, died Tuesday. Arrangements are incomplete at Stith Funeral Home.

Pauline C. Wofford

PERRYVILLE -- Services for Pauline Craig Wofford, 76, of Lebanon Road, Parksville, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. Dan Johnson. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.

She died Tuesday at the home of her daughter in Parksville.

Born April 14, 1927, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Roy T. and Eva Mae McDermott Craig. She retired after 33 years with Palm Beach Co. and was a member of Mitchellsburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Edward H. "Shorty" Wofford; a daughter, Eva C. Cox of Danville; two sons, Ronnie H. Wofford of Ohio and Brian T. Wofford of Danville; a brother, Kenneth L. Craig of Danville; a sister, Joyce Vernon of Junction City; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded by a son, Dennis A. Wofford.

Pallbearers will be Garnice Lamb, Carl Leffew, David Lynn, Charles B. Vernon, Eddie Engle and Troy Edwards. Honorary pallbearers are Richard and Kenneth Baker and Jason S. Shepperson.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice.

PERRYVILLE -- Pauline Wofford, 76, of Mitchellsburg died today at the home of her daughter in Parksville. She was the wife of Hope "Shorty" Wofford. Arrangements are incomplete at Wilder Funeral Home.

David E. Brown

LOUISVILLE -- Dr. David E. Brown, 68, of Louisville died Monday.

Born Nov. 22, 1934, in Louisville, he was a former medical director for the Center of Behavioral Medicine at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

He was an Army veteran and practiced medicine at the Army Medical Center in Landsthul, Germany, then in New York. In 1970, he became a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at University of Louisville Medical School, then served as acting medical director at Our Lady of Peace Hospital, before coming to Danville in 1991.

Survivors include his wife, Tricia Barnstable; four sons, Christopher, David, Nicholas and Patrick Brown; a daughter, Elisabeth Tremayne; six brothers, Bart, Thomas, James, Joseph, Anthony and Daniel Brown; three sisters, Martha J. Abell, Kathleen Kelley and Mary Ann Quisenberry; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Mildred Caudill

LIBERTY -- Mildred Caudill, 88, of Whitesburg died Saturday at her home.

Born Nov. 29, 1914, in Letcher County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Polly Webb Bates. She was a homemaker and a member of Left Beaver Old Regular Baptist Church in Floyd County and attended Liberty First Church of God for 30 years. She was the widow of Chap Caudill.

Survivors include four daughters, Coleene Hart of Ermine, Charlene Rosterfee of Venezuela, South America, Vivian Roy of New Whiteland, Ind., and Margie Lee of Westchester, Ohio; a son, Keith Caudill of Dunnville; two brothers, Lucian Bates of Indiana, and Hubert Bates of Florida; three sisters, Kathryn Johnson of Bevinsville and Sybel Johnson and Glenna Barrett, both of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services were Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Rhuford Hart, Darrell Bates and Clifton Cowan. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Agnes Durham

SAVOY, Ill. -- Agnes B. Durham, 83, of Urbana, Ill., died Sunday in Urbana.

Born Jan. 5, 1920, in Perryville, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Mary E. Lawson Bugg. She was a retired veterinary laboratory technician and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of Roy T. Durham Jr.

Survivors include a son, Danny R. Durham of Seymour, Ill.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Memorial Home by the Rev. James Layman. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday.

Earl L. Reynolds

CRAB ORCHARD -- Earl L. "Red" Reynolds, 74, of Main Street died Monday at Rockcastle County Hospital.

Born April 4, 1929, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Joe B. Reynolds and Jessie M. Reynolds Crabtree. He was a train wheel assembler with Griffin Wheel Co. in Chicago and a member of Mount Vernon Holiness Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Ella Mae Wren of Nebo, N.C., and Tresa Murphy of Crab Orchard; a son, Earl D. Reynolds of Crab Orchard; a brother, Oscar Reynolds of Stanford; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary E. Reynolds.

Services will be noon Wednesday at New Hope Holiness Church by Paul Akers. Burial will be in Dix River Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the church.

McKnight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James Keeton

Services James Kinniard "Doc" Keeton, 82, of Crosshill Drive will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Story. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion.

He died Sunday at his home.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Anderson, Jamie Wilcher, Randall Holten, Ralph Miles, Dale Monroe, Jeremy Edwards, Johnny Wilcher and Hubert Southerland.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Jack Starnes

LANCASTER -- Services for Printus Lee "Jack" Starnes, 74, of Hill-n-Dale Drive will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Barry Jeffries and Kenan McWhorter.

Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

He died Sunday at his home.

Born Nov. 22, 1928, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Leslie and Opal Starnes Starnes. He was owner and operator of Starnes Trucking Co. and a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church and the American Legion. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Janetta Huffman Starnes; a daughter, Karen L. Hatfield of Lancaster; a sister, Arbutus Fathergill of Lancaster; and a granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Mike and Chris Fathergill, Gene Hampton, Troy Grow, Phillip Stump and G.B. Miller.

Honorary pallbearers are G.B., Paul and Ralph Starnes, John Wheeler, Edd Hager, James Baker and Jeff King.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice of Danville.

James Keeton

James Kinniard "Doc" Keeton, 82, of Crosshill Drive died Sunday at his home.

Born Feb. 17, 1921, in Hubble, he was the son of the late Van and Isabel Yeakey Keeton. He was a heavy equipment operator for R.R. Dawson Bridge Co. for 32 years.

He served in the Army during World War II and was the recipient of five bronze stars. He was a member of the American Legion and its honor guard, and International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 181.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Southerland Keeton; four daughters, Beverly Wray of Bassett, Va., Elaine Wilcher and Betty Jo Holton, both of Danville, and Beth Carson of Goshen, Ohio; a son, Donnie Anderson of Louisville; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Keeton, and a son, Van C. Keeton.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary Story. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military rites by Boyle Post 46, American Legion.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Alvin Padgett

SPRINGFIELD -- Alvin "Joe Buck" Padgett, 85, of Armory Hill died Saturday at Norton Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

Born Aug. 14, 1917, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Edgar and Maudie Pierce Padgett. He was a retired farmer, a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the widow of Genettia Smothers Padgett.

Survivors included two sons, Robbie Padgett of Perryville and Darrell Padgett of Gravel Switch; four daughters, Dorothy Daugherty of Perryville, Nancy Tennill of Springfield, Sue Teater of Lebanon and Sherri "Sissie" Padgett of Bardstown; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Carey & Son Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Shockley. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.
