W.R. "Bill" King, 64, of Waterworks Road died Thursday at his home.
Born Feb. 14, 1939, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Harley and Edith Cooper King. He was a former employee of Corning Glass Works where he had worked for 17 years, and a farmer. He was a member of Bluegrass Pike Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emarine Hicks King; two sons, Rodney King and Stewart King, both of Danville; two stepsons, Robert Cash of Lexington and Jim Cash of Danville; a stepdaughter, Connie Brooks of Danville; two brothers, Robert King of Moreland and Jim King of Danville; two sisters, Beverly Divine of Danville and Juanita Hinshaw of Fort Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Tim Russ. Entombment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bill Whittaker, Ronnie Carmickle, Reed and Rocky Cash, Tim Taylor and Alec Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, and Roy Fowler, Karl Luttrell, John Carey and Delmar Dalton.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday.

Vada G. Sluder
CINCINNATI -- Vada Gooch Sluder, 97, died Tuesday.
Born May 18, 1906, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Gooch and Cornelia Floyd and the widow of Zora G. Sluder.
Survivors include two daughters, Mardena Godbey and Serena May; seven grandchildren; a sister, Agnes Spangler; 13 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Hodapp Funeral Home, College Hill.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today.

Lester O. Wilson
LIBERTY -- Lester Owen Wilson, 62, of Liberty died Wednesday at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born Nov. 16, 1940, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Daniel E. and Dolly Satterfield Wilson. He was a retired steelworker.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Bolt Wilson; a son, Allen O. Wilson of Liberty; a daughter, Anita Wilson of Liberty; a sister, Josephine Wilson of Liberty; and two brothers, Estil and Arlis Wilson, both of Liberty.
Services are 2 p.m. today at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Clifford Dehart. Burial will be in Contown Cemetery.

Services for George "Donald" Pruitt, 68, of Lexington Avenue will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. James AME Church by the Rev. Jeremiah Wilson. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
He died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 17, 1933, in Danville, he was the son of the late John L. and Collettie Prewitt.
He was retired from American Greetings Corp. was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of St. James AME Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Vicki, Andra, Lisa and Sherry Prewitt, all of Danville; two sons, Darnell Pruitt of Danville and James Ross of San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Ann O'Neal of Chicago; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tyson, DeMarco and Gary Prewitt, Brian Caldwell, Jerry Gooch and Greg Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Eugene Fish, Johnny Johnson, John T. Davis, Curtis Bright, James Singleton and Coleman Singleton.

William Harrison "Whitey" Helm, 82, of Harrodsburg died Wednesday in Harrodsburg.
Born Nov. 10, 1920, in Daviess County, he was the son of the late James D. and Sarah J. "Sally" Ranbarger Helm. He was employed as a butcher and was a business agent for Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union Local 227. He was a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.
Survivors include two sons, Don Helm of Elko, Nev., and Ray Helm of Chicago; a daughter, Harriette Coyle of Harrodsburg; a sister, Cynthia Clendening of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

SPRINGFIELD -- Edith Vaughn Goode, 87, of Springfield died Tuesday at Springfield Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born July 3, 1916, in Bradfordsville, she was the daughter of the late Porter and Mary Jo Noe Vaughn. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, a retired food service worker for the Washington County Board of Education, and the widow of Tom Goode.
Survivors include a daughter, Joan Carrico of Springfield; two brothers, Clyde Logsdon and Carroll Logsdon, both of Springfield; three sisters, Mildred Coyle, Geneva Carpenter and Dola Blandford, all of Springfield; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Carey & Son Funeral Home by the Rev. J.T. Kirkpatick. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

She was born May 3, 2003, in Danville.

He died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.
