Julia W. Holtzclaw
MORELAND -- Services for Julia Catherine Wilkinson Holtzclaw, 68, of Hustonville will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Westside Community United Methodist Church by the Revs. Don Scilley and Scott Wilson. She died Monday in Pulaski County.
Born April 29, 1935, in Casey County, she was the daughter of Luil E. and Marjorie Weber Wilkinson of Liberty. She was a homemaker and a member of Brush Creek Christian Church.
Other survivors include two sons, Roby Holtzclaw of Hustonville and Samuel K. Holtzclaw of New Salem; two daughters, Margaret Newell of Fort Myers, Fla., and Mary Ann Long of Richmond; a sister, Berniece Woodrum of Danville; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday and after noon Saturday at the church.

Roberta S. Maddox
MORELAND -- Services for Roberta Simpson Maddox, 66, of Casey County, will be 1 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born Nov. 15, 1936, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Ida Elliott Simpson. She was a homemaker and attended Moreland First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William C. Maddox; a daughter, Lisa Goodpaster of Casey County; three sons, Larry Simpson of Junction City, and Ronnie Sergent and Doug Sargent, both of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Audrey Maddox of Casey County; a brother, Robert L. Simpson of Lexington; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Bobby and Mark Maddox, Gary Douglas, Ron and Ronnie Hackerson and Matthew Simpson. Honorary pallbearers are Jonathan Hackerson and Megan Simpson.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today.

Ella Mae Marshall
Ella Mae Marshall, 89, of Parksville, a retired teacher, died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
She had been a teacher for over 50 years, having taught at Wilsonville Elementary, Indian Creek Elementary in Casey County, and Junction City Elementary schools. She was the first special education teacher in the Boyle County school system and had received a Special Education Educator of the Year award for her work with special needs students.
Marshall taught Head Start in 1970 and served as a social worker for the Head Start program from 1971-78. She also was a 4-H club leader and worked with the migrant education program.
After retiring from the Boyle County school system in 1977, she continued teaching as a substitute teacher. She was named Kentucky Teacher of the Year in 1981 and was given a Kentucky Education Association District Award in 1982.
Marshall also had been involved in getting the old Wilsonville community one-room school renovated. The school, located near Wilson Chapel AME Church where she had been a member for many years, will be named in honor of Marshall.
She was the daughter of the late John and Florence Marshall.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, including Florence Maye of New York.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Chapel AME Church by Everhart Walker and Cheryl Blake Hoskins.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Sunday at the church.

Jesse W. Overstreet
Jesse Walden Overstreet III, 68, of Apache Trail died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born June 18, 1934, in Perryville, he was the son of the late Jesse W. and Jewell Roney Overstreet. He was a retired employee of Danville post office. He had served in the Army and was a member and deacon of Parksville Baptist Church, and a member of Harvey Maguire Lodge 209 and American Legion Post 301. He also had served as bailiff for Boyle County District Court.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Lawson Overstreet; a son, Mark Overstreet of Lexington; three brothers, Jimmy Overstreet, Joe Overstreet and Pat Overstreet, all of Danville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hedgeville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home.
Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice or Parksville Baptist Church building fund.

Lena M. Joyner
Lena M. Joyner, 99, died today at Charleston Health Care Center.
Born May 16, 1904, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth Powell Harmon. She was a former Providence School teacher and furrier for the Danville Laundry, and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was the widow of John Joyner.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Geraldine Harmon of Perryville; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Jimmy Owens. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation is after noon Friday.

Mary L. Walton
HARRODSBURG -- Mary Lou Walton, 40, of Hopkinsville died Monday.
Born Aug. 17, 1962, in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Juanita Lantham Cooley of Hopkinsville and the late John Dickerson. She was a registered nurse at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville for 18 years.
Other survivors include her husband, Jeffrey D. Walton; a son, Jeff Walton of Hopkinsville; a daughter, P.J. Walton of Hopkinsville; five sisters, Deborah J. Salters, Devonna S. Hutson, Anna C. Mann and Ronda L. Cooley, all of Hopkinsville, and Amanda Cooley of Toledo, Ohio; four brothers, Carl L. Dickerson of Georgetown, Johnny D. Dickerson of Harrodsburg, Charles A. Dickerson of Paris and Randall G. Cooley Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; and two grandchildren.

HARRODSBURG -- Services for Gladys Lucille Davenport Alexander, 90, of Harrodsburg will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Spring Hill Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 31, 1912, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James F. and Frances E. Hifner Davenport. She was a homemaker, a member of Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church and the Women's Morning Circle. She was a charter a member of Band Boosters and a Cub Scout den mother. She was the widow of James M. Alexander.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew B. Alexander and Dr. James G. Alexander, both of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, John S. and James M. Alexander Jr.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

HONAKER, Va. -- Cynthia Ethel Rasnake, 86, of Cleveland, Va., died Friday in Lebanon, Va.
Born Jan 27, 1917, in Buchanan County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Russell and Maudie Street Massie. She was a certified nursing assistant and a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Rasnake; two daughters, Lois Walls of Russellville and Edna Aldridge of Naples, Fla.; six sons, Ray Price of Stanford, Charles Price of Hustonville, Oscar Price and Henry Price, both of Naples, Tony Price and Michael Price, both of Shelbyville; two stepdaughters, Virginia Lambert of Cleveland, Va., and Irene Culbertson of Bluefield, W.V.; two stepsons, Gary Rasnake and Lonnie Rasnake, both of Cleveland, Va.; two sisters, Mae Bottoms of Danville and Bertha Helton of Crab Orchard; and several grandchildren, great-and great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday at Honaker Funeral Home by the Revs. Roy Walls and Jim Little. Burial was in Rasnake Cemetery.

William L. Cornett
WAYNESBURG -- William Louis Cornett, 40, of Hurricane Road died Tuesday in Eubank.
Born Dec. 21, 1962, in Stanford, he was the son of Alice F. Cornett Foley of Waynesburg and the late Robert Foley. He was an employee of Woodstock Pallet Mill.
Other survivors include a brother, Larry G. Stull of Kings Mountain; and a sister, Jeanie Foley Warfield of Eubank.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by Robert Collins. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.

Joseph D. Murphy
HARRODSBURG -- Joseph Daniel Murphy, 31, of Ashley Drive died Tuesday at his home.
Born Feb. 10, 1972, in the Panama Canal Zone, he was the son of Daniel E. and Nancy M. Austin Murphy of Harrodsburg.
He was an employee of Hitachi and a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church.
Other survivors include his son, Zachary J. Murphy of Harrodsburg; his fiance, Sherry M. Preston of Harrodsburg; a grandmother, Virginia A. Murphy of Harrodsburg; a brother, Steve Murphy of Harrodsburg; and a sister, Deborah A. Villa of San Antonio, Texas.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Frank Osburg.
Pallbearers will be Michael Burke, Mike Young, Scott Brothers, Sean Tarter, Scottie Rawlings and Steve Murphy.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
