SCIENCE HILL -- Karen Mullins, 58, of Rialto, Calif., formerly of Eubank, died Thursday at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Born July 21, 1944, she was the daughter of Leon Griffin, of Eubank, and the late Pauline Bryant Griffin. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Mullins; two sons, Scott Mullins of New Port, Ore. and Jason Mullins of Rialto, Calif.; two brothers, Eddie Griffin of Somerset and David Griffin of Eubank; two sisters, Brenda Leach of Waynesburg and Linda Smith of St. Louis, Mo.; one grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home by David Bullock. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lela Patten
LIBERTY -- Lela Chloe Patten, 88, of Mitchell Street, Junction City, formerly of Liberty, died Friday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born Nov. 6, 1914 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Bell Henson. She was a homemaker and member of Green River Valley Seperate Baptist Church. She was the widow of Arnold Foley and Luther Patten.
Survivors include three daughters, Jewell Wilkerson of Russell Springs, Margie Price of Liberty and Judy Elam of Crab Orchard; a brother, Preston Henson of Dunnville; two sisters, Adele Smith of Russell Springs and Hattie Hudson of Liberty; eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Green River Valley Seperate Baptist Church by the Revs. Paul Patton and Jim Tharp. Burial will be in the Green River Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandson.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at McKinney Brown Funeral Home.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Samuel Alfred Zwahlen, 88, of Waynesburg died Thursday at Stanford House nursing home.
Born Aug. 22, 1914, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Maggie Schlappi Zwahlen.
He was a farmer and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Oliver Zwahlen; a son, James A. Zwahlen of Houston, Texas; two stepsons, Guy R. Greer of Lancaster and Simon Greer of Waynesburg; a brother, William "Bill" Zwahlen of Cincinnati; two sisters, Lillian Zwahlen of Cincinnati and Marie Stevens of Lancaster; four stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fairview Baptist Church by Gary King.
Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Corinna C. Balden
Graveside services for Corinna Minor Cook Balden, 76, of Lexington, formerly of Danville, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bellevue Cemetery by the Rev. Carol Rawls.
She died Tuesday.
Born July 5, 1926, in Danville, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Madge Isaacs Cook.
She had been a librarian in Louisville, and in Danville at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she also was a member, Edna L. Toliver Elementary School and Boyle County Public Library.
She was a member of the Garden Club of Danville, Daughters of the American Revolution, and worked with Boyle County 4-H horticulture programs.
She was instrumental in restoration of McDowell House and its gardens.
She attended Virginia Intermont College and graduated from University of Kentucky with a degree in library science.
She was the widow of William H. Balden Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Madge B. Adams of Lexington; two sisters, Margaret Davis of Morehead and Ellen Braselton of Oklahoma; and a grandson.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Stith Funeral home.
