LANCASTER -- J.P. "Pete" Ratcliffe, 92, of Ashland died Saturday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
Born Jan. 1, 1911, in Winchester, Ind., he was the son of the late Ed and Minnie Abrams Ratcliffe. He was a retired Armco Steel supervisor. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, having served as exalted ruler, past state president, past district deputy and chairman of the Elks Scout Troop 101 for 37 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member and elder emeritus of Community Presbyterian Church in Bellefonte.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Ratcliffe; two daughters, Barbara Rusko of Ocean Pines, Md., and Dixie D. Hester of Fort Mitchell; two sisters, Justine Deters and Jean Robinson, both of Ashland; and six grandchildren.
Services were today at Steen Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Dwight McCormick. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lancaster Cemetery.

Freda Pruitt
WAYNESBURG -- Services for Freda Kaye Eldridge Pruitt, 39, of Scottsville, formerly of Somerset, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church by Emory Caudill and Roger Gibson. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
She died Saturday at her home.
Born Feb. 6, 1964, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of Emil Eldridge and Margaret Day Eldridge, both of Bronston.

Survivors include her husband, William T. Watts; and a son, Richard L. Watts of Harrodsburg.

Born March 8, 1919, in Liberty, she was the daughter of the late Edward B. and Ola Wheeler Carr. She was a homemaker and the widow of Murrill Dykes.

Born March 31, 1918, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Carlisle and Flossie Meeks Walters. She was retired school cook and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was the widow of Arlan Lawson.
Survivors include two daughters, Jackie McFarland of Cincinnati and Carole Baker of Sandy Hook, Va.; a brother, Ray Walters of Nancy; a sister, Mary Jo Green of Florida; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church by James Lynn. Burial will be in Birdie-Russell Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Byrd.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Crawley.

She was the widow of Maurice J. Devine.
Survivors include a son, Glenn Devine of Mercer County; four sisters, Birdie Gooch of Danville, Valeria Kidd of Harrodsburg, and Lois Kidd and Mary Traynor, both of Lexington; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rex and Mark Kidd, David and Michael Traynor, and Kevin and Michael Horn. Honorary pallbearers are Miller, Don, Willie B., Billy and Morris Horn, and members of her Sunday school class at Bruner's Chapel Baptist Church.
