Alton E. Neagle,
Alton E. Neagle, 75, of Columbia, Ky., formerly of Greensburg, Ky. died Friday July 4, 2003, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
Son of the late Arthur A. Neagle and Emma Martin Neagle, he was born on May 21, 1928 in Greensburg and was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
Neagle was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a
member of the Local VFW Post 5813, a life member of the DAV and a farmer.
He was married
to Frances Wilson on Dec. 7, 1954, who preceded him in death on July 28, 1996.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Alton II and Monica Neagle of Campbellsville; and four grandchildren, Brian Neagle, Mindy Neagle and Brynn Neagle, all of Summersville, and Shane Thomas of Campbellsville.
Three brothers and two sisters, Duard Neagle, Thurman Neagle, Talmage Neagle, Mable Neagle and Gwendola Neagle also preceded him in death.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8 at Cowherd & Parrot Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in Greensburg Cemetery. The Rev. Carl Lusk officiated.
Pallbearers were Brian Neagle, Ricky Bohanon, Larry Handy, Shane Thomas, Greg Willis, John Paul Edwards and Nathan Keith Wilson.
Nadean Baker
Nadean Baker, 74, of Columbia, Ky. died Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at her home after a short illness.
She was the daughter of the late Tom Paul and Mary Sue Hill Lewis of Adair County, Ky.
Baker was co-owner of Baker's Taxi in Columbia for 30 years and was retired from Fruit of
the Loom in Campbellsville. She attended Antioch United Methodist Church.
She was married
to Verner Baker, who preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1982.
Survivors include one daughter, Rita Campbell and her husband Steve of Columbia; one grandson, Brent Campbell and his wife Shannon of Columbia; three brothers, Ralph Lewis of Chance, Ky., Mack Lewis of Columbia, and Harris Lewis of Columbia; and three sisters, Paul Baker of Greensburg, Ky., and Willow Shelton and Euna Sullivan, both of Columbia.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in
Columbia, with burial in Antioch Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Dooley officiated.
Pallbearers were Autry Baker, Carson Lewis, Randolph Lewis, Rick Shelton, Robby Shelton and Barry Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were Donald Campbell, Hugh Lewis, Billy Morrison and Rocky Morrison.
Sheilda Bailey
Sheilda K. Bailey, 52, of Edinburgh, Ind., died Friday, July 25, 2003 at her home.
Daughter of the late Clifton Lile and Opal Pierce Lile, she was born on Dec. 30, 1950 in Green County, Ky.
She was married
to Harold W. Bailey on Nov. 4, 1967, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons and one daughter, Jeff D. Bailey, Greg A. Bailey and Deborah A. Shera, all of Edinburgh, Ind.; three sisters, Virginia Campbell of Greensburg, Joan Dowell of Edmonton and Devona Campbell of Oklahoma; and six grandchildren.
One brother, Robert Lile, also preceded her in death.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Ind. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Shelby Roberts
Shelby Roberts, 88, of South Central Avenue, Campbellsville, Ky., died Sunday, July 27, 2003 in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Elbert Roberts and Allie Hunter Roberts, he was born on Aug. 17, 1914 in Taylor County, Ky. and attended First Church of God.
Roberts was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.
He was married
to Annie Eastridge on Aug. 17, 1935, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Garner and Jewell Corbin of Campbellsville; three grandchildren, Tommy Corbin of Campbellsville, Gina Wilber of Wagner, S.C., and Stephanie Garner of Boston, Mass.; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer Garner of Campbellsville, and Jamie Wilber of Lexington, S.C.
He was also preceded in death by one son and three daughters, John Wesley Roberts, Norma Faye Roberts, Betty Lou Roberts and Bonnie Sue Roberts; and two brothers and two sisters, Herman Roberts, Grover Roberts, Nellie Mae Roberts and Purnie Lou Roberts.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Colin McDaniel and Bro. Brad Epperson officiated.
Pallbearers were David Corbin, Tommy Corbin, Gerry Dugger, Jimmy Garner, Harold Lee Humphress, Houston Jenkins, Jack Alan Perkins Jr. and Roy Tedder.
Evelyn Foster
Evelyn Foster, 71, of Druin Street, Campbellsville, Ky., died Monday, July 21, 2003 at Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville after an illness.
She was the daughter of the late James and Carrie Redman Rooks, and was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and was a member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church
She was married
to Bobby Gene Foster, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly McMahan and Brenda and
Thomas Songer, all of Campbellsville; four grandchildren, Jessie Morgan, Melissa Durham, and Joshua Wise and McKenzy Dixon; two great-grandchildren, Courtney Morgan and Jannah Davis, two brothers and two sisters, James Rooks Jr. of Campbellsville, Travis Rooks of Tennessee, Maxine Cobb of Mount Washington and Katherine Bradshaw of Campbellsville.
One daughter, Linda Sue Morgan, also preceded her in death.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Jim Durham officiated.
Pallbearers were Steve Bradshaw, Roger Cobb, Donnie Cobb, Mike Rooks, Anthony Gillespie and Robbie Spencer.
Lillie England
Lillie England, 87, of Bear Track Road, Campbellsville, Ky., died Friday, July 25, 2003 in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late Claudis Wilson and Annie Tandy Wilson, she was born on June 14, 1916 in Taylor County, Ky. and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She was married
to James England on Dec. 29, 1937, who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1991.
Survivors include on daughter and son-in-law, Fayola and Alvin Richerson of Campbellsville; two grandchildren, Michael Richerson and Kellie Jones of Campbellsville; seven great-grandchildren, Kacie Richerson, Kelsi Richerson, Kasandra Richerson, Kori Richerson, Mackenzie Jones, Madison Jones and Keaton Jones, all of Campbellsville; and one sister, Bonnie Monroe of Louisville.
Two grandchildren, Gary Richerson and Karen Richerson; one brother and one sister, Harold Wilson and Vivian Vance also preceded her in death.
Funeral was at 1 p.m. Monday July 28 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral
Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Dr. Ray England and Bro. Chuck Pollard officiated.
Pallbearers were Willard Bright, David England, Gary England, Larry England, Mark Lollar, Nick Milby and Ronnie Monroe.
