Margaret Rogers
Margaret Bryant Rogers, 78, of Greensburg, Ky., died on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at her home.
Daughter of the late Forest Bryant and Donnie Arsner Bryant, she was born on July 14, 1924 in Adair County, Ky.
Rogers was a member of Greensburg Christian Church and was a homemaker.
She was married
to Rollin H. "Greasy" Rogers on Feb. 24, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1973.
Survivors include three sons, Tommy Rogers of Greensburg and Freddy Rogers and Ed Rogers, both of Charlotte, N.C.; five daughters, Helen Ray and Darlene Curry, both of Greensburg, Carolyn Mitchen of Louisville and Louise Bentle and Sue Rogers, both of Denver, N.C.; one sister, Mable Simpson of Greensburg; 25 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Rogers.
Funeral was at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Les Bullock officiated.
Pallbearers were Brandon Boggs, David Rogers, Andy Ray, David Mitchen, Edward Rogers, Wesley Ray, Shane McKinney, Michael Boggs, Arvin Ray and Junior Boggs.
Honorary pallbearers were men from Greensburg Christian Church.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the Greensburg Christian Church Building Fund and can be made at the funeral home.
Beauford Lemmon
Beauford Lemmon, 67, of Spurlington Road in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville, after a long illness.
Son of the late Hiram Lemmon and Edna Ethel Montgomery Lemmon, he was born on Oct. 24, 1935 in Green County, Ky., and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Lemmon was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
He was married
to Nancy Smothers on Dec. 18, 1954. She survives.
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sherrye Lemmon of Nancy, Ky.; one granddaughter, Madison Lemmon of Nancy; two sisters and three brothers, Agnes Sharp of Pewee Valley, Dorothy Lemmon and Ralph Lemmon, both of Campbellsville, Graham Lemmon of Freeport, Ohio, and Wesley Lemmon of Las Vegas, Nev.
Funeral was at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 28 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville, with burial in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Carlis Compton officiated.
Pallbearers were Jerry Ferguson, Lonnie Lemmon, Mark Smothers, Terry Walker, Jamie Warren and DeWayne Wilson.
Wayne T. Burton
Wayne T. Burton, 69, of Tallula, Ill., formerly of Adair County, Ky., died on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at his home.
Son of the late William and Earslie Rooks Burton of Adair County, Ky., he attended Calvary Baptist Church in Tallula. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Army. He was the retired owner of Wayne's Service Center and was currently employed at Sunny Acres Nursing Home.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude A. Cowan Burton of Tallula, Ill.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathie and Dennis Stevens of Pleasant Plains, Ill., Clara and Cliff Klauzer of Tallula and Reda and Bill Sandlin of Gray, Ky.; four sons, Larry Burton, Kenneth Burton and Thomas Burton, all of Tallula, and Mike Burton of Kentucky; one sister, Lillian Burton of Richmond, Ky.; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Ronnie Burton of Louisville, Alvin and Shirley Burton of LaGrange, Ky., and Walker Burton of Cincinnati, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24 at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield, Ill. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in Pleasant Plains, Ill.
Memorials may be made Hospice Care of Illinois.
Gracie Kelly
Gracie Lee Buchanan Kelly, 85, of Greensburg, Ky., died on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg.
Daughter of the late Hansel Buchanan and Dora Blankenship Buchanan, she was born on May 22, 1917 in Green County, Ky., and was a member of South Greensburg Baptist Church.
Kelly was a former employee of American Needlecraft for 36 years.
She was married
to Shirley Monroe Kelly. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1999.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara A. Scott of Greensburg; two brothers, Robert Buchanan and Frank Buchanan of Greensburg; two grandchildren and their spouses, Allen Ray and Sharon Pickett of Greensburg and Kelly and Jeff Crouch of Columbia; three great-grandchildren, Mandy Pickett and Melony Pickett, both of Greensburg, and Terra Crouch of Columbia; two step-grandchildren, Lori Paxton and Samantha Paxton, both of Greensburg; and two step-great-grandchildren, Dalton Curry and Cody Curry, both of Greensburg.
She was also preceded in death by seven brothers, John P. Buchanan, Leslie Buchanan, Oscar Buchanan, Twyman Buchanan, Alva Buchanan, Authur D. Buchanan and William Berry Buchanan.
Funeral was at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 27 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in Fry Cemetery. The Rev. Alan Durrett officiated.
Pallbearers were Danny Buchanan, Kenneth Buchanan, Dale Buchanan, Lilburn Kelly, Terry Hall and Jerry Buchanan.
Honorary pallbearers were Gayle Downey, Eloise Gumm, Sharon Beauchamp, Janice Herman, Judy Hall and Claudette Wygal.
Donald R. White Sr.
Donald R. White Sr., 31, of Wooleyville Road in Campbellsville died on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002 at U of L Hospital in Louisville after an illness.
Son of the late Edward White and Madie Bell Phelps White of Indiana, he was an employee of Fleetwood Corporation of Campbellsville.
Survivors include his wife, Christie White of Campbellsville; three children, Donald White Jr., Kayna White and Kazman White, all of Campbellsville; three brothers and four sisters, Gary White, Marcus White, Edward White, Edwina Berry, Patricia White, Shelia Washington and Suzanna White, all of Indiana.
Graveside service was at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 20 at Robinson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, by Bro. James Blackerby.
Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements.
Helen Elizabeth Winn
Helen Elizabeth Winn, 90, of Beechwood Drive in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late Dale L. Smith and Fannie Board Smith, she was born on May 5, 1912 in Irvington, Ky., and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She was married
to T.S. Winn Sr. on July 9, 1928. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1994.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ted Jr. and Mary Alice Winn of Campbellsville, Jim and Pitts Winn of Lexington and Charles L. Winn of Louisville; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kyle and Angie Winn of Centreville, Va., Julie and the Rev. Jeff Eaton of Lawrenceburg, Dr. Holly and Kevin Brown, David and Elizabeth Winn and Steven Winn, all of Louisville; five great-grandchildren, Andrew Eaton and Laura Eaton, both of Lawrenceburg, and Clayton Brown, Elizabeth Brown and Zachary Morris, all of Louisville; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, George and Euzada Winn of Greensburg and Mary Smith Chitwood and Betty Winn, both of Louisville.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jack L. Smith.
Funeral was at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 21 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jeff Eaton, the Rev. Skip Alexander and Roger Davis officiated.
Pallbearers were Clayton Brown, Kevin Brown, Andrew Eaton, Zachary Morris, David Winn, Kyle Winn and Steven Winn.
