Richard A. Smith
Richard A. "Red" Smith, 69, of Greensburg, Ky., died on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Charlie Smith and Hettie Lee Richards Smith, he was born on Sept. 19, 1933 and was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include one son, Richard Allen Smith of Greensburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Alan Montgomery of Greensburg; one brother, Vernon Russell Smith of Clarksville, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Bagby of Greensburg and Lily Mae Kyle and Lou Alice Pennycuff, both of Albany; one aunt, Ada Parson of Adair County; and two grandchildren, Jacqueline Nichole Montgomery and Kimberly Alice Montgomery, both of Peru, Ind.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, William Smith, James Smith, Samuel Smith and Ed Pittman; and four sisters, Sarah Wright, Emma Hamlett, Nancy Coomer and Allene Moss.
Funeral was at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Ladies Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Dee Dowdy officiated.
Pallbearers were Harold Beams, Finis Wayne Durrett, Brad Cox, Ronnie Judd, Lonnie Thompson and Larry Judd.
Honorary pallbearers were T.J. Bishop, Ronnie Davis, Tony Meadows, Charles Thompson, Mickey Ray, Chris Burris, Kenny Burris and Joey Burris.
Robert Earl McQueary
Robert Earl "Yackey" McQueary, 69, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Columbia, Ky., died on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, in Florida.
He was the son of the late Daniel McQueary and Lula Burton McQueary.
He was married
to Lucille McQueary of Florida. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Michael Dwayne McQueary; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tracy Lee and Michael Smith, Pamela Schifler and Sharon and Steve Kennedy; four sisters, Vada Perkins of Edinburgh, Ind., Jerri McQueary of Louisville, Emogene Kelsey and Margaret McQueary; one brother, Joseph McQueary of Louisville; two nephews and three nieces, David Allen McKinney and Carolyn McKinney Hickerson, both of Green County, Donna Jewell of Summersville, Jamie Gilbert and Kenny Wayne Perkins, both of Indiana; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Cecil McQueary; and two brothers, David McQueary and J.W. McQueary.
Funeral was at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North in Cantonment, Fla. Burial was in Little Flock Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ellis Miller, Johnny Fort, John Miller, Larry Hudson, John Page and Ricky Page.
Barbara Jean Brown
Barbara Jean Brown, 49, of Hamlet, N.C., formerly of Campbellsville, Ky., died on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at Moore Regional Hospital in Southern Pines, N.C.
Daughter of Raymond "Bill" Walters of Campbellsville and the late Augusta Brown Walters, she was born on June 26, 1953 in Taylor County, Ky., and was a member of Early's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Brown was a former employee of Leggs Hosiery.
She was married
to Brent Brown on Jan. 18, 1969. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1998.
Survivors include two sons, one daughter and two daughters-in-law, Kevin and Kimberly Brown of Hamlet, N.C., and Shane and Karen Brown and Christina Brown, all of Rockingham, N.C.; five grandchildren, Sarah Brown of Bloomfield, Ky., Kelsey Brown of Hamlet, N.C., and T.J. Brown, Alyssa Brown and Brent Holder, all of Rockingham, N.C.; and one brother and one sister, Mitchell Walters of Radcliff, Ky., and Patty Brown of Edmonton, Ky.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Ryan on June 18, 1995.
Funeral was at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Paul J. Dicken officiated.
Pallbearers were Wesley Bryant, Wally Cundiff, Mike Humphress, Jeff Richardson, Tony Sallee and Sonny Walters.
Howard Russell
Howard Russell, 79, of Greensburg, Ky., died on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Son of the late Terry Wood Russell and Ella Pearl Marcum Russell, he was born on Friday, July 13, 1923, in Green County, Ky.
Russell was a mechanic for RL Implement and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.
He was married
to Tillie Thompson in June 1940. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Barry Russell, Ben Russell and Gary Dean Russell, all of Greensburg; one daughter, Wanda Beyer of Louisville; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Russell and Beverly Russell, both of Greensburg; two sons-in-law, Robert Beyer of Louisville and Philip Milby of Greensburg; one brother, Ned Russell of Magnolia; one sister, Isabelle Nunn of Louisville; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, James H. Russell on June 22, 1943; and two daughters, Dorothy Louise Milby on May 31, 1998, and Roseline Russell on Feb. 21, 1941.
Funeral was at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Wilson Cemetery with Military Rites. The Rev. Richard Johnson and the Rev. Ivan Jones officiated.

Alma Rosella Richardson
Alma Rosella Richardson, 82, of North Central Avenue in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, after an illness.
Daughter of the late Omer and Flossie Roberts Cox of Campbellsville, she was of the Baptist faith and was a retired, self-employed Real Estate agent.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Geneva "Jackie" and C.R. Friend of Campbellsville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of Campbellsville; and one brother and sister, Lawrence Cox and Ruth Osborne, both of Campbellsville.
Funeral was at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Burial was in Chappel Cemetery. Bro. Jessie Rogers officiated.
