Thomas Read Moss, 81
Thomas Read Moss, 81, of Moss Lane in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Samuel Taylor Moss and Mattie Read Moss, he was born on Sept. 19, 1922 in Taylor County.
He was married
to Juanita Morris on Dec. 24, 1967. She survives.
He was a member of Early's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a farmer.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Trent Walters of Campbellsville; and two grandchildren, Autumn Walters and Tristan Walters, both of Campbellsville.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Paul J. Dicken, the Rev. Michael Goodwin and the Rev. Otis C. Skaggs.
Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Buster French, Hoover French, Gary Dale Hash, Lilburn Hedgespeth, Ralph Hedgespeth and L.M. Read Jr.
Honorary pallbearers are Garry Blakeman, Forster Hedgespeth, Jimmy Kendall and Read Wilson.
H.C. Patterson, 75
H.C. Patterson, 75, of Greensburg, Ky., died on Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at his home.
Son of the late Roy Richard Patterson and Ethel Tucker Patterson, he was born on Thursday, Dec. 6, 1928, in Green County. A member of Greensburg Baptist Church, he served as a trustee, usher, the counting committee and was in the adult men's Sunday School Class No. 2.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the United States Army and was retired as parts manager at Goff Motors.
He married
Doris Ann Acree on June 19, 1954. She preceded him in death on May 16, 1988. He married
Jane Ward on Oct. 5, 1991. She survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sandy Patterson and Tony and Donna Patterson, all of Greensburg; two step-sons, Donnie Haney of Edmonton, Ky., and Jesse Haney III of Dixon, Tenn.; two brothers, Elmer Patterson and Mitchell Patterson, both of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Alex Patterson and Ashley Patterson, both of Greensburg; five step-grandchildren, Jason Haney of New Albany, Ind., Jessica Haney of Sulphur Well, Ky., Alyson Haney of Nashville, Tenn., and Brandon Haney and Bowen Haney, both of Edmonton.
Funeral was Thursday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in Greensburg Cemetery. The Revs. Ty Clenney and Mike Akridge will officiate.
Active pallbearers were James Howard Patterson, Richard Tucker Patterson, Donnie Haney, Jim Morgan, Pete Kessler and Rex Paxton.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the adult men's Sunday School Class No. 2 at Greensburg Baptist Church.

Walter Minton Jones, 76
Walter Minton Jones, 76, of Elizabethtown died on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at North Hardin Health and Rehab in Radcliff.
Son of the late Willie T. Jones and Virginia Taylor Jones, he was born Friday, Dec. 30, 1927, in Green County. He attended Longview United Methodist Church and retired as Hart County agent after 40 years.
Jones was a member of the American Legion, the National Rifle Association, Hart County Historical Society, University of Kentucky Alumni, Western Kentucky Alumni and the American Cave Conservation Association. A veteran of the Korean War, he had served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Goodman Jones.
Funeral was Saturday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Neagle Cemetery. Bro. Tim Chamberlain and Bro. Charlie Houk officiated.
Pallbearers were Mike Goodman, Gerry Muth, Kenney Goodman, Charlie Houk, Mike Wheeler and Brian Bishop.
Honorary pallbearer was Kevin Goodman.

Todd Smock, 42
Todd Smock, 42, of Highland Lick Road in Russellville, Ky., died on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at his home following a long illness.
Son of Jean and Junior E. Smock of Russellville, he was born in Ford County, Ill., on Feb. 10, 1961.
He was a carpenter and a member of Elk Lick Baptist Church.
Other survivors include one son, Christopher Todd Smock of Olmstead, Ky.; two brothers, Barry Smock of Sante Fe, N.M., and Troy Smock of Russellville; two sisters, Donna Ezell of Russellville and Joni Davis of Campbellsville; two grandchildren, Ethan Smock and Jacob Smock; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 19, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Bros. Reed Bunton and Troy Luttrell officiating. Burial will be in the Elk Lick Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the James Brown Cancer Center, 529 South Jackson St. in Louisville, Ky. 40202. Or, they may be given to the funeral home.
Don Houk, 71
Don Houk, 71, of Bell Avenue in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Charles Edwards and Martha Bea Thompson Houk, he was born on March 26, 1932 in Green County, Ky. He was a member of Southside Christian Church and was retired from Western Kentucky Gas Co.
He married
Peggy Gumm Houk on June 26, 1968. She survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Patricia Carol Baldwin of Lexington, Ky., and Bridgette Sue Durham of Bowling Green, Ky.; two grandchildren, Jason Brandon Baldwin of Campbellsville and Austin Thomas Durham of Bowling Green; and one sister and one brother, Barry Martin Houk of Greensburg and Bonnie Ferryman of Louisville, Ky.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister, Junius Houk, Rudolph Houk, Doyce Houk, James Houk, Rual Houk, Bobby Joe Houk, Maxie Houk and Polly Rogers.
Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 15 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with Bros. Mike Manoski and Elmer Wheatley officiating. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Randall Bell, Austin Thomas Durham, Jeff Finn, Buck Gumm, Melvin Houk, Robbie Houk and Don Wheatley.
Honorary pallbearers were Phil Durham, Larry Finn, Steve Hash, Dale Houk, Lemand Houk, Maxie Houk, Verlas Miller, Butch McClure, Reed Neagle, Alvin Richerson, Randall Rogers, Herbert Veatch and Chester Warner.
Floyd T. Hensley Jr., 78
Floyd T. Hensley Jr., 78, of Old Lebanon Road in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Floyd T. Hensley Sr. and Grace Dilley Hensley, he was born May 22, 1925 in Hart County, Ky., and was a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He served as both an elder and a Sunday School teacher at the church.
He was moderator of the General Assembly of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church from June 1991 to June 1992. He was a former vice president and chair of the board at Taylor County Bank.
He was a 50-year member of the Rio Verde Masonic Lodge No. 698 F & A.M. in Canmer, Ky., and a 50-year member of Campbellsville Lions Club. He was a charter member of Taylor Regional Hospital's board of directors and had served on the board of trustees at Bethel College. He was a member of the Denominational Board of Finance and a former agriculture teacher at Taylor County High School. He was a member of the Soil Conservation Board and was active in fund-raising for the Boy Scouts of America.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army.
He was married
to Alta Adams Hensley on Sept. 10, 1947. She survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one brother, two sisters and their spouses, Eldon and Gloria Hensley of Horse Cave, Ky., Rowena and Roy Hines of Nashville, Tenn., and Grace and Bob Counts of Englewood, Fla.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Parrot & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Revs. Ron Ferree, Wayne Brooks and Joe Jones will officiate.
Burial will be in Horse Cave Cemetery.
Pallbearers are William Bault, Ken Bean, Sam Hayes Jr., Morris Horn, Jim Miller Jr., Russell Montgomery, Hugh Moss, Bill Vaughn, Jack Whitley and Murrell Young.
