Christine Bandy
Services for Christine Hammonds Bandy, 70, of Harding Street will be 2 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Tim Mathis. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at her home.
Born Jan. 21, 1930, in Bardstown, she was a daughter of the late Sollie and Stella Hembre Hammonds. She was a former employee of Palm Beach and Corning Glass Works and a former owner of Photo Hut. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a Danville High School graduate.
Survivors include a son, Bill Bandy of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Patty Edester of Danville; two sisters, Helen Preston and Aline Million, both of Danville; and a granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be men of First Baptist Church.
Memorials may go to First Baptist Church building fund.

Ovie Gaines
HARRODSBURG -- Ovie Gaines, 79, formerly of Mercer County died Wednesday at Charleston Health Care Center.
Born July 15, 1921, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Willie J. Peavler and Omie Camden Logue. She was a homemaker, a member of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church and Mercer County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include four sons, Donald Peavler of Harrodsburg, Thomas C. Gaines II and Kenneth W. Gaines, both of Louisville, and Grover Phillips of Danville; three daughters, Gracie Smith of Danville, Alice Dupont of Riverside, Ohio, and Sheree Thompson of Ashland; two brothers, J.T. Peavler of Lexington, Mo., and Marshall Peavler of Garland, Texas; a sister, Jewell Anderson of Danville; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by the Rev. Kenneth Whitehouse. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Peavler, Clint Smith, Marty Smith, Mike Sinkhorn, Timmy Devine and Kenny Gaines II.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Peavler, Monty Anderson, James Peavler and Jimmy Devine.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Friday.

Robert N. Gaines
Services for Robert Nathan "Bobby" Gaines, 61, of Glendale will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church by the Revs. Al Gisler and Tim Mathis. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
He died Sunday at his home.
Born Dec. 25, 1938, in Danville, he was a son of Mabel Irene Kelly Gaines of Danville and the late Herman C. Gaines. He was a draftsman for the state highway department and a member of First Baptist Church, Bass Masters and National Rifle Association.
Other survivors include two daughters including Robin Derby; a sister, Leslie Williams of Danville; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Hutchinson, Bennie Selby, Bob Nutter, Sam Sisoumankhara, Joe Lubbers and Jim Helm. Honorary pallbearers are Drs. Charles Sisk and Quin Bailey.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.

Curtis L. Young
Services for Curtis Lee Young, 42, of Cincinnati, formerly of Danville, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Jones and Simpson Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
He died Saturday at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
Born Jan. 10, 1958, in Danville, he was a son of Mattie Young of Covington and Glenwood Wilkerson of Stanford. He was an employee of Wittrock Woodworking and Manufacturing Co., and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Danville.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Young; four children; Curtis Young Jr., Fallon Geans, Lashana Vest, Joeneal Walker, all of Cincinnati; four sisters, Glenda Warren, Darlene Warner, Patricia and Deborah Wilkerson; and three brothers, Jerry, Stephan and Gary Wilkerson.

Cecil Chumbley

Born Nov. 5, 1926, in Phil, he was a son of the late Luther and Pearl Thomas Chumbley. He was a farmer and a former owner of Chumbleys Grocery.
Survivors include his wife, Fausteen Wesley Chumbley; three daughters, Judy L. Douglas and Betty J. Morgan, both of Liberty, and Joyce A. Troxell of Monticello; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Jerry Lee Evans
LIBERTY-- Jerry Lee Evans, 48, of Ky. 1859, Elkhorn, died Sunday at his home of a gunshot wound in a drive-by shooting.
Born Jan. 2, 1952, in Casey County, he was a son of Clara A. Evans of Liberty and the late Clellie Evans.
He was a forklift operator at Wood Products.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Evans of Liberty and Jerry W. Evans of Elkhorn; two stepdaughters, Becky Tungate of Mansville and Leeshell Vaught of Campbellsville; four sisters, Bonnie Brown and Irene Barrett, both of Blandchester, Ohio, Janet Helm and Jewel Meeks, both of Liberty; four brothers, Leonard Evans of Blandchester, and John, Jule and Clellie Jr., all of Liberty; and five step grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Johnnie Patton. Burial will be in Green River Valley Cemetery.

Born Nov. 2, 1919, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Omer Carey and Johnnie B. Lewis Carey Votaw. He was a retired E.W. Brown coal yard supervisor, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Burgin Baptist Church and a life member of Douglas Laws Post 52, American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Carey; a daughter, Georgie A. Sherrow of Burgin; two sons, Ronald E. Carey of Concord, N.C., and Kenneth A. Carey of Burgin; a half sister, Margaret A. Proctor; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Vernal Coffman, James W. Coffman and Shirley E. Coffman, all of Junction City; and a daughter, Margie Coffman of Junction City. She was preceded in death by a son, Estill Coffman.

James Brooks
James Arthur Brooks, 67, of Main Street died Saturday at his residence.
Born June 11, 1933, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Mary Burton Reed Willie Brooks. He was retired from Palm Beach Co. where he worked in maintenance and was an Army veteran. He was the widower of Loretta Jasper Brooks. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia D. Dawson.
Survivors include one son, James Randy Brooks of Danville; two daughters, Sharon J. Gerlach of Danville and Dana C. Lachner of Brownsburg, Ind.; two brothers, Eugene P. and Jimmy L.
