Buford Thomas Estes, 75
Buford Thomas Estes, 75, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Breeding, Ky., died on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Caritas Medical Center in Louisville.
Son of the late Williams Wheat and Annie Myrtle Thompson Estes, he was a retired stone mason.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Estes of Columbia and Tommy Estes of Louisville; one daughter, Jean Davidson of Metter, Ga.; two brothers, Everett Rudolph Estes of Louisville and Wayne Estes of New Albany, Ind.; two sisters, Arcola Franklin and Lorena Budzisz, both of Columbia; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, by Bro. Darrell Landis. Burial was in the Roach Cemetery at Breeding.
Pallbearers were Dale Budzisz, Troy Budzisz, Thomas J. Estes, Billy Franklin, Jerry Franklin and Lynn Franklin.
William Carlie "Bill" Grant, 80
William Carlie "Bill" Grant, 80, of Spokane, Wash., formerly of the Little Cake Community in Adair County, Ky., died on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at his home.
Son of the late Ulysses and Mary Bryant Grant, he was employed by Camp Chevrolet for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Grant of Spokane; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ron Absalonson of Spokane; one son and daughter-in-law, William Carl and Rebekah L. Grant of Seattle, Wash.; three brothers, Sidney Grant and Herschel Grant, both of Columbia, and Richard Grant, Athens, Ala.; five sisters, Rebecca Melton, Bernice Goodin, Betty Smith and Judy Watson, al of Columbia, and Sandra Cockerham, Georgetown, Ky.; two granddaughters, Tonya and Terra; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Emily Marie Grant; and by two brothers, Danny Grant and Travis Grant.
A private graveside service will be held Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 in Spokane.
Herbert P. Logan, 84
Herbert P. Logan, 84, of LaGrange, Ky., formerly of Berkley Heights in New Jersey, died on Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at his home in LaGrange after several weeks' illness.
A member of LaGrange Presbyterian Church, he was a mason.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Royse Logan of LaGrange, formerly of Columbia; two daughters, Patricia Lawrence of Bowling Green, Ky., and Mary Ash of LaGrange; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. at Columbia Union Presbyterian Church on Burkesville Street in Columbia. The Rev. Al Earley will be officiating. Interment will be in the Royse Cemetery on Liberty Road in Columbia.

Bessie Thompson, 87
Bessie Thompson, 87, of Smith Ridge Road in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late Lewis Whitlock and Mary French Whitlock, she was born on Nov. 18, 1916 in Marion County, Ky.
She was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She was married
to Jimmie Thompson on Dec. 31, 1938. He preceded her in death Aug. 20, 1978.
She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Gilbert and Rosie Thompson, Jean and Jodie Burkhead, Becky and Bill Spratt, Patricia and Donnie Gray, Terry and Betty Thompson, Phillip and Pam Thompson and Hilda Bell and friend Mike Maupin, all of Campbellsville; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Jesse Harris, Ermine Harris, Hallie Harris and Tillie Allen, all of Campbellsville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Gary Lynn Bell; and seven brothers and sisters, Ardie Mae Underwood, Flora Thompson, Arvin Ray Whitlock, Lewis Whitlock Jr., Virgil Lee Whitlock, Ben Whitlock and an infant brother.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by the Rev. Jim Durham and the Rev. Donald Wright.
Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Kevin Burkhead, Darian Gray, Shiney Kearney, J.J. Knopp, Dennis Thompson, Eric Thompson, Greg Thompson and Troy Walters.

Nellie 'Louise' Skaggs, 73
Nellie Louise Skaggs, 73, of Taylors Chapel Road in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at Green Hill Manor Nursing Home after an illness.
Daughter of the late John and Betty Thompson Nelson of Green County, Ky., she was a homemaker and a member of Union Separate Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Garlen Skaggs; three daughters, Linda Thompson and Teresa Smith, both of Green County, and Juanita Nelson of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and four sisters, Norma Jean Wise and Connie Hall, both of Green County, Katie Sprowles of Campbellsville and Effie Lewis of Louisville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters, Herman Nelson, Bill Nelson, Anne Skaggs, Ollea Underwood, Gertie Warren, Lizzie Kessinger and Polly Nelson.
Funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with the Revs. Twyman Davis and Mark Price officiating. Burial was in Taylors Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cory Smith, Sean Nelson, Shane Nelson, Nathan Foster, Gary Calhoun, Michael Osborne, Trevor Calhoun and Brett Huff.
Carl Bradshaw, 72, Glensfork
Carl Bradshaw, 72, of Glensfork, Ky., died Friday, Jan. 30, 2003, at his home after an illness.
Son of the late Condy and Hallie Collins Bradshaw, he was of the Baptist faith and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Fay Grant Bradshaw; three daughters, Brenda Lawless and Dean Shearer, both of Jamestown and Jean Arnold of Columbia; a son, Dale Bradshaw of Glensfork; and five grandchildren, Louie Compton, Waylon Bradshaw, Jason Shearer, Megan Arnold and Clint Bradshaw.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda May Bradshaw, who died in 1952; and four grandchildren, Rebecca Lawless, Shawn and Don Shearer and Christian Bradshaw.
Funeral was Sunday, Feb. 1 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Jessie Jewell officiating. Interment was in Grant Cemetery in Glensfork.
Pallbearers were Mitchell Compton, Mike Grant, Gary Hadley, Roy Lawless, and Ray and Roy Morrison.
Honorary pallbearers were Ray and Terry Grant, Terry Grider, Coy Morrison and Al Sullivan.
Billy G. Campo, 48
Billy G. Campo, 48, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 in Green County, Ky. at his home.
Son of William "Bill" Campo of Raceland, La. and the late Sybil Jean Gibson Campo, he was born on Thursday, March 31, 1955, in Gastonia, N.C. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lockport, La. and was a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a former employee of Fort Knox EMS.
He married
Judy Goff on Sept. 11, 1992. She survives.
Besides his father and his wife, Campo is survived by a brother, Barry Campo of Raceland, La.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Polly Goff of Greensburg; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Karnes of Greensburg; and nieces and nephews, Derek Karnes and Stephanie, Ross and Sara Milby, all of Greensburg.
Funeral is Monday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in Green County Memory Gardens, where military rites will be conducted. The Rev. Chuck Pollard will officiate.
Pallbearers are Jason Earley, Eddie Pruitt, Bruce Odom, Timmy Marr, Tom Akin, Dean Gaudet, J.W. Bennett, Freddie George, Terry Judd and Kevin Bagby.
