Elender Newton Cox, 77
Elender Newton Cox, 77, of West Main Street in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, in Louisville, Ky.
Daughter of the late Walter Newton and Nettie Page Newton, she was born in Taylor County, Ky., on Dec. 13, 1926.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Cox was retired from the Taylor County Clerk's office, where she had worked from 1976 to 1992.
She was married
to Thomas B. Cox on Sept. 25, 1948. He preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2003.
Cox is survived by four children and their spouses, Roger and Sharon Cox of San Diego, Calif., and Dr. Ben and Regina Cox, Carol Jones and Meme and Greg Tucker, all of Campbellsville; two sons-in-law, Robert Pickett and his wife Rita and Chris Tucker, all of Campbellsville; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister and two brothers, Lucille Ford of Long Beach, Miss., Jerome Newton of Stanford, N.C., and Ollie Newton of Campbellsville.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Fran Pickett on Nov. 2, 1996 and Jane Tucker on Aug. 5, 1998.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville. The Rev. Jack Caldwell and the Rev. Jeffrey P. Leger will officiate.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Lebanon National Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Brandon Cox, Cliff Cox, Taylor Cox, Chad Jones, Clay Pickett, Griffin Tucker and Tyler Tucker.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of the C&S; Mission Store.
Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home of Campbellsville is in charge of arrangements.
Willya Rattliff Cox, 68
Willya Rattliff Cox, 68, of Greensburg, Ky., died on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Hospice Care Center in Louisville, Ky.
Daughter of the late James W. and Estelle Dobson Rattliff, she was born on Friday, Jan. 3, 1936, in Taylor County, Ky. She attended Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. "Bobby" Cox, on Aug. 23, 1996. They had married
on Dec. 24, 1955.
She is survived by one son, two daughters and a son-in-law, Steve Cox, Sherree Milby and Debbie and Steve Thompson, all of Greensburg; three brothers, Herman Rattliff of Campbellsville, J.W. Rattliff of Greensburg and Vernon Rattliff of Lexington, Ky.; one sister, Doris Rodgers of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren, Kevin Thompson, Robin Thompson Hansen and her husband, Rich, all of Cambridge, Mass., Shae Simpson and her husband, Josh, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Brandi Cox, Mindy Cox, Shawn Milby and Alex Thompson, all of Greensburg; and one great-grandchild, Sydni Grace Montgomery of Indianapolis, Ind.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley Rattliff and Ronnie Rattliff.
Funeral is Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. in the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home. Burial is in Ebenezer Cemetery. The Rev. Dwight Forderhase will officiate.
Pallbearers are Brian Rattliff, John Rattliff, William Lewis Rattliff, James Ralph Rattliff, Matt Rattliff, Jason Rattliff, Mark Rodgers and Randy Rodgers.

Gracy Curry, 84
Gracy Curry, 84, of Forest Hills Drive in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at her home.
Daughter of the late Henry Elbert and Nancy Adline Price Munday, she was a homemaker and attended United House of Prayer in Columbia.
She was married
to Allen Ernest Curry. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1976.
Survivors include four daughters, Hilda Curry, Ocilla Perkins and Ann Druin, all of Campbellsville, and Geneva Bennett of Columbia; two sons, Dwight Curry of Columbia and Sandy Curry of Glensfork; one brother, Hindman Munday of Columbia; one sister, Lavelle Taylor of Columbia; 19 grandchildren; 26 grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three children, Norma Curry and Steve Curry on May 17, 1973, and Mink Curry on Nov. 27, 2000.
Funeral will be at noon on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia. Bro. Don Taylor will officiate.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Keltner, Ky.
The family requests visitation after 4 p.m. on Friday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
William D. "Bill" Durham, 79
William D. "Bill" Durham, 79, of Wildflower Drive in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, in Naples, Fla.
Son of the late James Owsley Durham Sr. and Mattie Mudd Durham, he was born on Dec. 7, 1924 in Taylor County, Ky.
He was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
While serving in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946, Durham was involved in the invasion of Normandy and received numerous commendations. After his discharge, he attended Bowling Green University.
Durham was married
to Vivian Purdue for 43 years until her death in 1992. He then married
Pat Glasscock in 1993. She survives.
Besides his wife, Durham is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Joe Lanier of Hewitt, Texas; two step-children and their spouses, Marsha and Dick Benningfield and Melisa and Mark Morris, all of Campbellsville; two grandchildren, Lea Lanier of San Antonio, Texas, and Rachel Lanier McCarty and her husband 2nd Lt. Matt McCarty of Bryan, Texas; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty and Billy Munford and Carolyn and William Allen Wethington, all of Campbellsville, Barbara Jean King of Lexington and Joanne Trinkle of San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, James O. Durham Jr. and Lucy Shuffett.
Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Skip Alexander will officiate.
Imelda Wethington, 94
Imelda Wethington, 94, of Clem Haskins Boulevard in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late James Monroe Wethington and Rosanna Catherine Wethington, she was born on Jan. 15, 1910 in Casey County, Ky.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.
She was married
to Edgar Maurice Wethington in November 1935. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1980.
She is survived by six children and their spouses, Frances and Harold Waymon, Vera Ann Campbell, Cathy Tapscott and her partner Billy Gumm, all of Campbellsville, Louise and Jay Bricken of Louisville, Ky., Pat and Nanny Wethington of Lebanon, Ky., and Lawrence and Phyllis Wethington of Liberty, Ky.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim Maurice and Anita Wethington of Liberty; and a first cousin, Nancy Leo Wethington of Liberty.
Also proceeding her in death were two children, Malcolm Ray Wethington and Anna Catherine Wethington; and one sister and four brothers, Annie Murrah, Edgar P. Wethington, Thadeus Wethington, Bernard Wethington and Cyril Wethington.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29 at St. Bernard Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Clark officiated. Burial was in the St. Bernard Catholic Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Bricken, Mark Bricken, Rodney Campbell, Roger Campbell, Rodney Godby, Brandon Gumm, Chris Tapscott, Greg Tapscott, Michael Waymon, Jeremy Wethington, P.J. Wethington and Tommy Wethington.
