Virginia McNeely
Virginia Elizabeth McLeod McNeely, 91, formerly of Dillsboro, Ind., died Monday at Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Nov. 6, 1908, in Cynthiana, she was a daughter of the late Winder and Elizabeth Duncan McLeod. She was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Dillsboro, Ind. She was a graduate of Transylvania University. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Order of Eastern Star. She was a former state president of Presbyterian Women of Indiana and she was the widow of Dr. Matthew J. McNealy.
Survivors include a son, Franklin B. McNeely of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Ann Whittle of Louisville and Rebecca Myers of Danville; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are incomplete at Stith Funeral Home.

Katherine C. Brent
STANFORD -- Katherine Cordier Brent, 75, of Somerset died Sunday at her home.
Born Dec. 29, 1924, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Allene Newland and William Frank Cordier Sr. She was a retired teacher. During her 34-year career, she taught at Buckeye School, Eubank High School, Crab Orchard High School, Hustonville High School, Pulaski High School and Somerset High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Somerset.
Survivors include her husband, Marshall N. Brent; a son, Dr. James Brent of Salem, Ind.; three brothers, Harry Clay Cordier of Nicholasville, John Thomas Cordier of Lexington, and Robert Eugene Cordier of Georgetown, Texas; and a grandson.
Services were held 11 a.m. today at Fox Funeral Home, Stanford, by Mike Watts. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harry, Bob, John, Jonathon and Marty Cordier; Russell Ping, Steve Danielson, Craig Dundon and Tommy Brent.
Memorials are suggested to Lake Cumberland Hospice.

Walter W. Hill
STANFORD -- Walter Wilson Hill, 90, of Kings Mountain died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital Extended Care.
Born in Wilkesboro, Penn., he was a son of the late William and Edith Diamond Hill. He was retired from Morse Chain in upper state New York. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness. He was predeceased by a son, Lawrence Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah VanEtten Hill; two sons, John Hill of Freeville, N.Y., and Gerald Hill of Locke, N.Y.; a daughter, Barbara Ochsher of Kings Mountain; and 14 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses by Mark McIntyre.
There is no visitation.

Mary W. McKitric
HARRODSBURG -- Mary Walker McKitric, 86, of Detroit, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit after a long illness.
Born Aug. 29, 1914, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jenny Wright Walker. She was the widow of Charlie B. McKitric. She was a retired nurse and caterer and had attended cosmetology school. She was a member of St. Peter AME Church in Harrodsburg.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Owens of Detroit and Linda Blackshear of Garland, Texas; two goddaughters, Mary Patton of Harrodsburg and Iola Williams of Cincinnati; a sister, Iona Wright of Louisville; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter AME Church by the Rev. J.D. Short III. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. Saturday until the service.
Parks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Chestyne D. Pelfrey
PEKIN, Ind. -- Chestyne D. Pelfrey, 59, of Pekin, Ind. died Saturday at Washington County Memorial Hospital in Salem, Ind.
Born Nov. 30, 1940, in Somerset, she was a daughter of Richard and Lilly Phelps Waddle. A resident of Washington County for the past 18 years, she was formerly of Danville. She was a former employee of American Greetings and a former manager of the old Pekin Roller Rink in Indiana.
Survivors include two sons, William E. Pelfrey of Danville and Tim K. Pelfrey of Irvington; two daughters, Beverly A. Land of Mesquite, Texas, and Melissa R. Brading of Salem, Ind.; two sisters, Geneva Withers of Somerset and Evelyn Hampton of Ohio; a companion, Jay Nantz of Pekin; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home, 204 E. Market St., Salem, Ind. Cremation will follow.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Homer Ping
SCIENCE HILL -- Homer Ping, 92, of Good Hope-Goochtown Road, Eubank, died Saturday at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
Born Jan. 8, 1908, in Mount Pleasant, he was a son of the late Frank and Lula Ping. He was a farmer and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Clarice Bryan Adams Ping; two daughters, Janice Gentry of Eubank and Patty Morrow of Burnside; four sons, Ronnie, Gary and Daniel Ping, all of Eubank, and Brent Ping of Monticello; two sisters, Maude Looper of Indianapolis and Lee Rutherford of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held today at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home by Darrell Gentry and Robert Collins. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery in Eubank.

HARRODSBURG -- Marie Louise Hurst Shelton, 77, formerly of Sunset Lane, Harrodsburg, died Monday at Harrodsburg Health Care Manor.
Born May 30, 1923, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Betty Carey Hurst. She was a homemaker and a widow of James Shelton. She was a member of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Ruby Craig of Harrodsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

LIBERTY -- Sherry Frances White, 71, of Linnie Road died Saturday at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
Born Nov. 3, 1928, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Welby and Ada Bell Baldock. She was a retired florist and a member of Antioch Christian Church. She was the widow of Bud White.

LEXINGTON -- Sterling Anderson, 75, of Lexington, died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital. He was a native of Danville and the brother of .
Born March 16, 1925, in Boyle County, and was the son of the late Clayton and Jenny Davis Anderson. He was a retired employee of Taylor Tire Company and a member of Clays Mill Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Sterling Anderson.
Additional survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Frances McCane Anderson; a son, Royce Anderson of Lexington; two daughters, Pamela S. Johnson and Marlene K. Walden, both of Lexington; three sisters, Beatrice Bodner and Bertha Phillips, both of Danville, and Geneva Bunch, of Middletown, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 E. Main St., Lexington by the Rev. Jeff Fugate. Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.

LIBERTY -- John Joseph "Jack" Dando, 81, of Connor Street died Friday at Casey County Hospital.
Born Oct. 16, 1918, in Ashland, Pa., he was a son of the late William and Kate Flannigan Dando. He was a tire dealer, a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Dunagan Dando; a son, Johnny Dando of Liberty; a daughter, Linda Dando Lee of Liberty; a sister, Mary Becker of Hallertown, Pa.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
