Jack David Satterfield Sr., 56
Jack David Satterfield Sr., 56, of Logansport, Ind., died on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, in Indiana after an illness.
Son of the late George and Barbra McCallahan Satterfield, he had been a welder until becoming disabled.
He is survived by two sons, Leon David Satterfield and Jack David Satterfield Jr., both of Campbellsville, Ky.; his step-mother, Jan Clifford of Indiana; one brother, Herbert Clifford Jr. of Indiana; and four sisters, Jeanette Clifford, Susie Clark and Joyce Leisure, all of Indiana, and Marilee York of Ohio.
Funeral was on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Bro. George Thompson officiated.
Pallbearers were Leon Satterfield, Jack David Satterfield Jr., Herbert Clifford, Rob Petty, Ronnie Caldwell, Paul Green, Arthur Olgin, Elder Ashcraft and Elder Paulson.
Vera Mouser Meadows, 88
Vera Mouser Meadows, 88, died on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in Glasgow, Ky., at Glenview Health Care.
Daughter of the late James Alfred Mouser and Pearl Jenkins Kidd, she was born on Saturday, Oct. 16, 1915, in Green County, Ky.
Meadows was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was married
to Charlie Robert Meadows on May 22, 1937. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1973.
Survivors include one son, James Robert Meadows of Glasgow; two daughters, Gladys Maedell Milby of Greensburg and Shirley Maxine Wilson of Campbellsville, Ky.; four sisters, Vernice Karnes of Campbellsville, Lura Fancher of Edmonton, Ky., Drucella Blaydes of Louisville, Ky., and Lillian Bishop of Greensburg; three brothers, Chesley Mouser of Indiana and Veachel Mouser and Odell Mouser, both of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Robbie Milby of Greensburg, Dean Wilson and Sherry Wilson, both of Elizabethtown, Ky., Dennis Wilson of Campbellsville, Tammy Rayles of Glasgow and Kimberly Heath of Louisville; and six great-grandchildren.
Meadows was also preceded in death by one sister, Lera Jeffries; and one brother, Carlos Mouser.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery at Thurlow. The Rev. Timmy Glass will officiate.
Pallbearers are Joey Hatcher, Dean Wilson, Dennis Wilson, David Mouser, Jonathan Wilson, Robbie Milby, Steve Oldham and Kelly McKinney.
Marie Elizabeth Spalding, 64
Marie Elizabeth Spalding, 64, of Lebanon, Ky., died on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at her daughter's home in Springfield, Ky.
Daughter of the late Andrew Clinton and Mary Theresa Nalley Coulter, she was born on Nov. 6, 1939, in Washington County, Ky., and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Lebanon.
She was married
to William Alfred "Buck" Spalding, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Theresa Hood of Springfield, Amanda Followell of Lebanon and Ann Davis of Campbellsville; two sons, Andrew Howard and William Alfred Spalding Jr., both of Lebanon; one sister, Mary Ruth Downs of Lebanon; two brothers, James Eugene Coulter of Virginia and William Allen Coulter of Yelm, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was also preceded by three sisters, Helen Frances Fryman, Margaret Louise Bryant and Mary Irene Wayne; and one brother, James Andrew Coulter.
A funeral Mass was held Feb. 6 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Lebanon, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Bell officiated.
Pallbearers were Bobby Wright, Allen Murphy, Chris Downs, Gary Wilkerson, David Bickett and James Ruley.
Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon was in charge of the arrangements.
Terry Reed Carey, 50
Terry Reed Carey, 50, of Burkesville, Ky., died on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Son of the late Glen and Golda Grider Carey, he was born on Monday, Aug. 31, 1953.
He was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Waterview.
Survivors include eight brothers, Fred Carey, Joe Carey and Charles Carey, all of Burkesville, Titus Lee Carey, O.C. Carey, Ray Carey and Dwight Carey, all of Campbellsville, and Carl David Carey of Edmonton, Ky.; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Nettie Jewell Carey of Burkesville, Amy and Thomas Beauchamp of Glasgow, Ky., and Pricilla Alexander of Bowling Green, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Carey; and one sister, Marie Phelps.
Funeral was Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville. The Rev. Gene Norris officiated. Burial was in the Beech Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johnny Sea, Ronald Gene Lawson, Dean Lawson, Larry York, William Thompson, Phillip Beauchamp, Shawn Beauchamp and Myron Kirk.
Flower girls were Bea Beauchamp, Michelle Wilburn and Angela Mathews.
Lela Benningfield Fox, 75
Lela Benningfield Fox, 75, of Shively, Ky., died on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at her home.
Daughter of Arland W. Sr. and Mary N. Marrs Benningfield, she was born on April 4, 1928, in Buss Row (Kindness Road) in Taylor County, Ky.
She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and was a retired supervisor for the old Louisville Ladder Company.
She was married
to Paul W. Fox, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary E. and Jay Ellyson of Virginia; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard T. and Patricia Burns; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy M. and Frances Benningfield of Campbellsville and Arland W. and Faye Benningfield of Louisville, Ky.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Robin Q. Burns.
Funeral was on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Burial followed.

Lewis Elbert Fair, 77
Lewis Elbert Fair, 77, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Campbellsville, Ky., died on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Caritas Medical Center in Louisville after an illness.
Son of the late Joe and Martle Fair, he was a marble setter and the owner of Fair's Marble Shop since 1956.
He is survived by his wife, Jeweldean Lewis Fair; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney Lewis and Evelyn Fair; two grandsons, Jason Fair and Jeffrey fair; one goddaughter, Cathy Howard; two brothers, Thomas Fair of North Carolina and Fount Fair of Louisville, Ky.; and two sisters, Edna Mills and Roxie Nichols, both of Indianapolis, Ind.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Fonzle Fair, Dallas Fair and Eddie Fair; and one sister, Bulie Mills.
Funeral was on Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. Burial was in Robinson Ridge Cemetery. Bro. George Hancock officiated.
