Lanie Bunch, 87
Lanie Bunch, 87, of Jamestown, Ky., died on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at her home.
Daughter of the late Ed and Rosalee Shearer Cape, she was a member of Melson Ridge United Baptist Church and had worked at Lake Cumberland State Park.
She was married
to Ezra Bunch, who preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1994.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Royce and Joyce Bunch of West Chester, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Jimmy Melson of Jamestown; one sister, Delpha Grant of Glensfork, Ky.; a son-in-law, Ronald Coomer of Russell County; five grandchildren, Jeff Bunch, Joe Bunch, David Coomer, Christopher Thomas and Adam Melson; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Coomer on March 12, 1991.
Funeral was on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia. Bro. Jim Molden officiated. Interment was in Haven Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Cape, Tommy Cape, Danny Grant, Carlos Lloyd, Bud Helm and Clinton Bunch.
Thomas Richard Davis, 68
Thomas Richard Davis, 68, died on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind.
Son of the late Thomas G. Davis and Elsie B. Judd Davis, he was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Green County, Ky.
Davis was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the U.S. Army. He was also present commander of the James L. Pruitt Post 5813 Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as a member of American Legion Rod Lowe Post 124 and the Masonic Lodge in Louisville.
He was married
to Shirley Johnson on Feb. 27, 1958. She preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 1982.
He later married
Betty Curry on July 25, 2001. She survives.
Besides his wife, Davis is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and David Hodges and Becky and Tim Risinger, all of Taylorsville, Ky., and Pamela and Floyd Allen of Louisville, Ky.; six stepchildren and their spouses, Stan and Kim Curry of Campbellsville, Beverly and Larry Ennis, Patricia Shaw, Sheila Whitlow and Sherry and Terry Aaron, all of Greensburg, and Rebecca and Brad Todd of Elizabethtown, Ky.; one sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Gene Price of Green County; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers, Hortense Judd, Hobert Davis and Herman Davis; and one grandchild.
Funeral was on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Revs. Daryl Jessie, William Karnes and Daryl Landis officiated. Military rites were held at the gravesite.
Active pallbearers were Marshel Davis, Doug Baker, Buddy Judd, A.D. Judd, Lee Simpson and Curtis Judd.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the James L. Pruitt Post 5813 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Scott Wayne Wilson, 41
Scott Wayne Wilson, 41, died on Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, in an automobile collision near Elizabeth, Ind., along with his 35-year-old brother, Eric D. Harden.
The son of Warren Lee Wilson of Newcomerstown, Ohio, and Darlene Norman Harden of Campbellsville, Ky., he was a native of Milden Hall, England, and was born on Nov. 4, 1962.
He was employed as a truck driver at W.T. Express in Charlestown, Ind., and was a member of Hornickle Post American Legion in Elizabeth and the American Legion in New Albany, Ind. He was a Navy veteran.
Besides his parents, survivors include his wife, Julia M. Kaiser Wilson; one son, Logan Wilson, at home; his step-father, William M. Harden of Campbellsville; his grandmother, Emma Norman of West Lafayette, Ohio; and four sisters, Connie Wilson of Florence, Ky., Sonya Gaskill of Newcomerstown, Ohio, Shelly Thompson of Barberton, Ohio, and Teresa Mosier of Dresden, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gregory Dale Wilson.
Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16 and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, Ind.
Funeral is at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004 at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, Ind.
He will be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Ind., with military rites performed by the Hornickle Post American Legion.
Vera Mouser Meadows, 88
Vera Mouser Meadows, 88, died on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, in Glasgow, Ky., at Glenview Health Care.
Daughter of the late James Alfred Mouser and Pearl Jenkins Kidd, she was born on Saturday, Oct. 16, 1915, in Green County, Ky.
Meadows was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was married
to Charlie Robert Meadows on May 22, 1937. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1973.
Survivors include one son, James Robert Meadows of Glasgow; two daughters, Gladys Maedell Milby of Greensburg and Shirley Maxine Wilson of Campbellsville, Ky.; four sisters, Vernice Karnes of Campbellsville, Lura Fancher of Edmonton, Ky., Drucella Blaydes of Louisville, Ky., and Lillian Bishop of Greensburg; three brothers, Chesley Mouser of Indiana and Veachel Mouser and Odell Mouser, both of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Robbie Milby of Greensburg, Dean Wilson and Sherry Wilson, both of Elizabethtown, Ky., Dennis Wilson of Campbellsville, Tammy Rayles of Glasgow and Kimberly Heath of Louisville; and six great-grandchildren.
Meadows was also preceded in death by one sister, Lera Jeffries; and one brother, Carlos Mouser.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery at Thurlow. The Rev. Timmy Glass will officiate.
Pallbearers are Joey Hatcher, Dean Wilson, Dennis Wilson, David Mouser, Jonathan Wilson, Robbie Milby, Steve Oldham and Kelly McKinney.
Riley Stanley Simpson, 83
Riley Stanley Simpson, 83, of Green County, Ky., died on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at his home.
Son of the late John Henry and Letha B. Kidwell Simpson, he was born on Sept. 25, 1920 in Green County.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II and was a member of the James L. Pruitt Post 5813 Veterans of Foreign War in Greensburg.
He was also a member of Rod Lowe Post 124 American Legion in Greensburg and the Hollins Park 865 Masonic Lodge in Louisville.
Survivors include one sister, Elma Landis of Greensburg; one niece, Jewell Adams and her husband, Buddy, of Louisville, Ky.; two nephews, Donnie Simpson and his wife, Donna, of Louisville and Denny Simpson and his wife, Mary Lu, of Palmyra, Ind.; three double first cousins, Floyce Simpson of Hollywood, Fla., Estelle Hollingsworth of Louisville and Vester Sadie Milby of Greensburg.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Colby Simpson, Curtis Simpson and Pauline Vandegriff.
Funeral was on Thursday, Feb. 19 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg. Bro. Gary Wayne Davis and Bro. Carlos Compton. Military Rites were performed.
Interment was in Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Thomas Curry, A.D. Judd, Lonnie Judd, Bennie Judd, Randy Mays and James Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob McCrary, Bobby Arnett, James Cecil Vanarsdall, Lapsley Bagby, Phillip Jeffries and Jerry Bagby.
