Cleo Patra Jones Smith, 68, died on Sunday, March 21, 2004, at Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, Ky.
Daughter of the late Ann Burbridge Jones and Tom Frank Jones, she was born on May 6, 1935, in Crocus, Ky. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Adair County.
She was married
to George Henry Smith, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Sue Smith of Greensburg; two sons, Jerry Wayne Smith of Greensburg and Michael George Smith of Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Arement "Minnie" Jones of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Mary Elizabeth Williams of Columbia, Ky.; one brother, Tom Frank "T.F." Jones of Columbia; five grandchildren, Patricia Smith, Tim Smith, Tonia Smith, Tishia Smith and Leamber Smith; six great-grandchildren, Shaunte Smith, Tariq Smith, Sa'von Brewer, Tianna Smith, Taiva Mangram and Jaedyn Embry; a special aunt and friend, Christine Burbridge Miller; and several special nephews and nieces, Clifton Amos, Thomas Amos, Bruce White, Judy Watts and Peggy Jones.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jane Smith; and one son, Terry Lane Smith.
Funeral was on Thursday, March 25 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg. The Revs. Ben White and Louis Henry officiated. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary White, Marco Mitchell, Steven Cheatham, Josh Cheatham, Nick Cheatham and Frankie Calhoun.
Honorary pallbearers were Kelly Mitchell, Donnie Williams, Marty Mitchell, John Pierce, Lisle Cheatham and Mark Jones.
Doyle Thompson, 64
Doyle Thompson, 64, of Southern Drive in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Sunday, March 28, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Son of the late Bennie Thompson and Bonnie Eastridge Thompson, he was born on April 1, 1939 in Taylor County, Ky.
He attended Feathersburg Church of God and retired as a mechanic from Fruit of the Loom.
Thompson was married
to Lois Eastridge on June 16, 1965. She survives.
Besides his wife, Thompson is survived by one daughter, one son and their spouses, Bonnie and Robert Campbell and Doug and Lisa Thompson, all of Campbellsville; five grandchildren, Angel Edelen, Tara Campbell, Carly Thompson, Shanda Campbell and Jacob Thompson, all of Campbellsville; one sister and one brother, Wanda Walters of Campbellsville and Randall Thompson of Hemet, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Jessie Rogers and the Rev. Montie Fugate will officiate. Burial will be in Eastridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Floyd Bryant, Kenny Eastridge, Buddy Gabehart, Paul Gabehart, Weldon Gabehart, Thomas Rayburn, Norman Smith and Bill Warren.
Delmar Lee Baldwin, 95
Delmar Lee Baldwin, 95, of Mill Street in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville, after an illness.
Son of the late Clell and Martha Cox Baldwin, he was a retired farmer and a self-employed mechanic.
Baldwin was a member of Feathersburg Church of God.
He was married
to Pearl Baldwin, who preceded him in death.
Baldwin is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Betty Baldwin of Campbellsville; one son-in-law, James Myers; one daughter-in-law, Lula Baldwin; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother and two sisters, Leonard Baldwin of Illinois, Lorene Gaddis of Louisville, Ky., and Audrey White of Elizabethtown, Ky.
He was also preceded in death by one son and one daughter, Bradley Baldwin and Virginia Myers; and four sisters, Bertha Eastridge, Marie Gaddis, Mary Magdalene Lee and Evelyn Smith.
Funeral was on Tuesday, April 13 at Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville with burial in the Callahan Cemetery. Bro. Kenneth Lawson officiated.
Pallbearers were Danny Baldwin, Doug Baldwin, Jeff Abrams, Jimmy Baldwin, Michael Baldwin, Sherrill Baldwin, Ricky Myers and Tony Myers.
Walker McQueary, 88
Walker McQueary, 88, of Columbia, Ky., died on Monday, April 19, 2004, at Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia.
Son of the late W.P. "Pete" and Maudie Ann Burton McQueary, he was a member of Bearwallow United Methodist Church, a Sunday School teacher and served on the board for several years.
McQueary was a retired maintenance director at Lindsey Wilson College after 32 years and was a master plumber.
He was married
to Della Knight McQueary. She preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 1999.
Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Burton of Campbellsville; six sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Juanita McQueary and Louis and Brenda McQueary, all of Columbia, Rollin and Stella McQueary of Campbellsville, Russell and Barbara McQueary of Radcliff, Ky., Roy McQueary of Frankfort, Ky., and Stephen and Sheila McQueary of Louisville, Ky.; three sisters, Delia Burton and Ellen McQuaide, both of Columbia, and Mary Jane Walker of Ramsey, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, Beverly Janes, Jamie Murrell, Julie Irvin, Stephanie Wilson, John David McQueary, Paul Hunter McQueary, Greg McQueary, Brian McQueary, Mike McQueary, Chris McQueary, Jeff McQueary and Stuart McQueary; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was also proceeded in death by one daughter, Helen McQueary on April 7, 1961; one daughter-in-law, Reba McQueary on Sept. 17, 1997; four brothers, Oley, W.E., Elvin and Ivan McQueary; and one sister, Dorothy Cornelous.
Funeral was on Thursday, April 22 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia. Bro. Troy Long and Dr. Greg Burton officiated. Interment was in Bearwallow Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be in the form of donations to Bearwallow Cemetery Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were grandsons John David McQueary, Paul Hunter McQueary, Greg McQueary, Brian McQueary, Mike McQueary, Chris McQueary, Stuart McQueary and Jeffrey McQueary.
Jane Isabell Thompson, 83
Jane Isabell Curry Gentry Thompson, 83, of Greensburg, Ky., died on Monday, April 19, 2004, at her home.
Daughter of the late Ed and Nellie Curry, she was born on Wednesday, March 30, 1921 in Green County, Ky., and was a member of Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church.
She was a former employee of Green Hill Manor Nursing Home and worked 20 years in the kitchen.
She was married
to Gearen Gentry, who preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1973. She later married
Marvin Thompson, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Geneva and Allen Day of Columbia, Ky.; three half-sisters, Imogene Arms of Glasgow, Ky., Mary Frances Pruitt of Horse Cave, Ky., and Drucella Bryant of Green County.
Funeral was on Thursday, April 22 at the Cowherd and Parrott Nursing Home in Greensburg. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Hugh Withers officiated.
Pallbearers were Steve Ennis, Adam Sneed, Kenneth Bryant, Bobby Gentry, Joseph Bryant and Jack Mullins.
George Alfred Colvin, 86
George Alfred Colvin, 86, of Green County, Ky., died on Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky.
Son of the late Elmer Lewis Colvin and Nina Elizabeth Rodgers Colvin, he was born on Sept. 30, 1917 in Green County.
He was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church and the Green County Library Board.
He was married
to Mildred Ruth Faulkner Colvin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodger Wesley and Donna Colvin of Taswell, Ind., and Randall Cole and Dottie Colvin of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Nathan Colvin and Ivy Colvin, both of Greensburg, and John Colvin of Indiana; one step-grandson, Phillip Endris of Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Colvin and Grace Colvin; one sister, Virginia L. Clark of Louisville, Ky.; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by one niece.
Funeral was on Tuesday, April 27 at Greensburg United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dale Curry officiated.
Pallbearers were John Colvin, Nathan Colvin, Wayne Edwards, Billy Parson, Barney Dehoney and Doug Pickett.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim Durham, Russell O'Banion, Lenn Pruitt, Willie Frank Parson, Hank Cantrell, Sonny Pickett and Harvie Burress.
