Mabel F. Stubbs, 69
Mabel F. Stubbs, 69, of Milder Creek Road in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky., after an illness.
Daughter of the late Lewis and Elda Bowen Pennington, she was a member of Eastside Church of God.
Stubbs is survived by her husband, Richard Stubbs; one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Pamela Little of Campbellsville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna and Rick Jude of Summersville, Ky., and Kathy Humphrey of Louisville, Ky.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lewis Pennington Jr. of West Virginia and Wilbur Pennington and Mickey Pennington, both of Ohio; and three sisters, Opal Whitmer, Wanda West and Debbie Burg, all of Ohio.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jo Barker.
Funeral was on Friday, May 7 at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Liberty Cemetery. The Rev. Robbie Spencer officiated.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Sexton, Kenneth Jude, Josh Anderson, Jimmy Anderson, Mike Pennington and Steve Pennington.
Edwin P. Shirley, 88
Edwin P. Shirley, 88, of Greensburg, Ky., died on Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky.
Son of the late John Will Shirley and Lucille Knight Shirley, he was born on Sept. 30, 1915 in Metcalfe County, Ky., and was of the Baptist faith.
He was married
to Dorothy Harris on Oct. 14, 1940. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Faye and Bobby Blakeman and Shelia Phillips, all of Greensburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Bobbie and Madell Shirley of Greensburg; two sisters, Ida Scott of Columbia, Ky., and Irene Bell of Edmonton, Ky.; one brother, Charles Shirley of Edmonton; six grandchildren, Faron Blakeman of Campbellsville, Susan Yarberry and Tracy Phillips, both of Tennessee, Julie DeJarnette of Alabama, Jill Saranga of Oklahoma and Teresa Shirley of Greensburg; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister-in -law, Ann Mary Shirley of Indianapolis, Ind.
She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Leon Phillips.
Funeral was on Wednesday, May 12 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg by the Rev. Charlie Houk. Burial was in Union Chapel Cemetery in Metcalfe County.
Pallbearers were Kenny Harris, Faron Blakeman, John Yarberry, Kenneth Harris, Tony Shirley, Eddie Durham and Mike Harris.
Honorary pallbearers were George Upton, Mont Ford, Royce Clark, MRey Yarberry, Ronnie Pruitt and Maxie Houk.

James H. Williams, 73
James H. Williams, 73, Irvington, Ky., died on Thursday, May 6, 2004, in Hardinsburg, Ky.
He was born on March 30, 1931 in Illinois and was a member of Garfield Baptist Church.
Williams was a retired construction worker and heavy equipment operator for 35 years. He was employed at Olin Corp in Brandenburg. Later in life he farmed.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Williams; two daughters, Brenda Mullins of Hardinsburg and Martha Lee Curry of Irvington; two brothers, Richard Williams and Ernest Williams Jr., both of Campbellsville; five sisters, Dorothy Burris of Ohio, Marie Murrell of Louisville, Ky., Velma Lois Meyers and Mae Dean, both of Tennessee, and Norma Jean Walters of Campbellsville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was on Saturday, May 8 at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington. Burial was in Garfield Cemetery.
Dr. Eugene Baldwin, 78
Dr. Eugene Baldwin, 78, of Florence, Ky., died on Saturday, May 29, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, Ky.
Son of the late Ronald and Stella Mae Walker Baldwin, he retired from dentistry in 1990 after 36 years of practice in Madisonville, Ky. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Force, and a member of Hartland Baptist Church in Paducah, Ky.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Goforth Baldwin of Paducah, Ky.; one daughter, Diana S. Baldwin Taylor of Edgewood, Ky.; three sons, Dr. Michael G. Baldwin and Dr. Dan W. Taylor, both of Madisonville, Ky., and Kevin Baldwin of Boubonnais, Ill.; two brothers, Dr. Stanley Baldwin of Madisonville and Harold Baldwin of Campbellsville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 3 at Lakeside Christian Church in Lakeside, Ky. Burial will be at Callahan-Feathersville Cemetery in Speck, Ky.

Anthony Jordan Huckaby, Infant
Anthony Jordan Huckaby, son of Roger and Bobbie Sue Redmon Huckaby of Columbia, Ky., was stillborn on Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Della Burton Redmon of Columbia; paternal grandfather, Roger Huckaby Sr. of Milltown, Ky.; aunts and uncles, Rodney and Rhonda Redmon of Columbia and Lisa and Michael Laney of Indiana; and a special great aunt and uncle, Brenda and Rick Huckaby of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Linda Hartman Huckaby.
Graveside service was on Saturday, May 29 at Bethlehem Cemetery in Russell Springs, Ky. Bro. Bob Richards officiated.

Jessie Janes, 81
Jessie Janes, 81, of Columbia, Ky., died on Thursday, May 27, 2004, at her home.
Daughter of the late Jess and Lee Cheek Cole, she was a member of Harrods Fork Baptist Church and was a secretary at Sparksville Grade Center for 36 years.
She was married
to Bee Janes, who preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1987.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Travis Paul Scott of Columbia and Angie and Willard Wise of Campbellsville, Ky.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mac and Missy Janes of Memphis, Tenn., Don and Beverly Janes of Pensacola, Fla., and Dale and Brenda Janes of Shepherdsville, Ky.; one sister, Sue Flatt of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Deana Cail, Greg Janes, Meredith Wong, Chris Janes, Mike Scott, Lorie Janes, Daron Vaughn and Jason Janes; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Faye Hauf, on Feb. 23, 1999; two brothers, George Cole and Jim Cole; and one sister, Victoria Handorf.
Funeral was Sunday, May 30 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia. The Rev. Lewis Haynes and Brother Jessie Hagan officiated. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery.

Lou Jones Lobb, 86, of Robinson Avenue in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late Cleveland Herron and Mary Elizabeth Cabble Herron, she was born in Taylor County, Ky., on May 24, 1918. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and had retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She was married
to Ruby Jones on Dec. 23, 1937. He preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1974. She later married
Ulys Lobb May in 1977. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1998.
Survivors include one son and two daughters-in-law, Lonnie A. and Joan Jones of Mannsville, Ky., and Dot Jones of Campbellsville; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Allen Jones of Mannsville, Leslie Jones Vance and Deanna Lynn Darst, both of Lebanon, Ky., and Kenneth Ray Jones Jr. of Campbellsville; nine great-grandchildren, Caren Elizabeth Jones of Babylon, Iraq, Jay Allen Jones of Mannsville, Zachary Aaron Jones, Isabella Darst, Andrew Darst, Danielle Darst and Jessie Reagan Vance, all of Lebanon, and Westin Matthew Vance and Trevor Michael Vance, both of Magnolia, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Kenneth R. Jones on Aug. 16, 2002; one grandson, Robert Dean Jones on July 15, 1984; four brothers and one sister, Roy Herron, Woodrow Herron, Frank Herron, Luther Herron and Thelma Hundley.
Funeral was Sunday, May 30 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. James H. Loy officiated. Burial was at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Wayne Cox, Jamie Eads, Jay Jones, Ken Jones, Wayne Pruyear and Ray Tankersly.
