Martha Jeston Neat, 70
Martha Jeston Neat, 70, of Columbia, Ky., died on Monday, May 31, 2004, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Daughter of the late George Walton and Lula Mae Dixon Bottoms, she was a member of Caldwell Separate Baptist Church and had worked at Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She is survived by her husband, Earl E. Neat of Columbia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen Louise and Ronnie Lee Harmon of Columbia and Sheila Joyce and Robert VanBuskirk Jr. of Elizabethtown, Ky.; one son and daughter-in-law, Lary Wayne and his Gaylon Neat of Campbellsville, Ky.; one brother, George Bottoms of Albany, Ky.; three half-brothers, John Blackburn of Columbus, Ind., Jody Blackburn of Kentucky and Charles Blackburn of Crawfordsville, Ind.; two sisters, Luria Jenkins of Boggstown, Ind., and Joyce Walls of Rockford, Ill.; two half-sisters, Opal Roberts of Indianapolis, Ind., and Elnora Neat of Dunville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Sue Neat.
Funeral was on Thursday, June 3 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia with Bros. David Coffey and Jim Antle officiating.
Burial was in New Hope cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy Burton, Ritchie Burton, Tim Keithley, Stephen Lemmon, Jeff Rooks and Steven Rooks.
Gene Smothers, 68
Gene Smothers, 68, of Crescent Hill Manor in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Son of the late George Smothers and Myrtle Beldon Smothers, he was born on March 23, 1936 in Marion County, Ky.
He is survived by three daughters, Glenda Walston and Norma Shepperson, both of Lebanon, Ky., and Paula Walston of Bradfordsville, Ky.; four grandchildren, Carla Jo Walston and Holly Shepperson, both of Lebanon, and Patrick Walston and Nicholas Walston, both of Bradfordsville; one brother and two sisters, Denny Smothers of Elizabethtown, Ky., Catherine Sandusky, of Louisville, Ky., and Mabel Wise of Campbellsville, Ky.; a special friend, Anna Brockman of Campbellsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Smothers and Donald Smothers.
Funeral was Saturday, May 29 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. Dr. Paul W. Patton officiated. Burial was at Old Liberty Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Milford Lowe, Ronnie Shepperson, Billy Smothers, Doyle Smothers, David Walston and Jim Walston.
John A. Warren, 75
John A. Warren, 75, of Carden Street in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Sunday, May 30, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Son of the late John B. Warren and Gladys Hoadley Warren, he was born in West Jersey, Ill., on Nov. 21, 1928. He was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver.
He was married
to Ethel Smith on July 21, 1953. She preceded him in death on July 23, 1991.
He is survived by three sons and four daughters, Greg Warren, Bonnie Wright and Mary Gray, all of Campbellsville, Tim Warren of Durham, N.C., Lou Ann Waldrop and Doug Warren, both of Louisville, Ky., and Roxie Pottinger of Prospect, Ky.; 15 grandchildren, Eric Warren, Andy Warren, Sara Warren, Amanda Gowin and Justin Wright, all of Campbellsville, Lindsey Gray of Lexington, Ky., Kara Marie Warren of Durham, N.C., Zach Waldrop, Baxter Waldrop, Connor Waldrop and John Warren, all of Louisville, and Eric Pottinger, Whitney Pottinger, Morgan Pottinger and Christian Pottinger, all of Prospect; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Warren, Braxton Gowin and Bailee Gowin, all of Campbellsville, and Molly Warren of Louisville; his companion, Kaye Anderson of Campbellsville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, William "Bud" Warren, James O. Warren, Dean Warren, Charles Hugh Warren and Kathryn Grammer Burton.
Funeral was Wednesday, June 2 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Don Gowin officiated. Burial was at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Henry Chappell, Johnnie Grammer, Ronnie Grammer, Michael Smith, Charles Warren and Wendell Warren.
Honorary pallbearers were John Chappell, Mike Grammer, Dwight Polston, J.P. Salmon, Tommy Sapp Jr., John Shofner, Terry Smith, Todd Smith, Kent Warren and Logan Warren.

Mary Watson, 84
Mary Watson, 84, of South Columbia Avenue in Campbellsville, Ky., died on Saturday May 29, 2004, in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late George Anderson and Frances Tomlinson Anderson, she was born on Aug. 4, 1919 in Pulaski County, Ky. She was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church and a worker in church nurseries for more than 40 years.
She was married
to Harold F. Watson on Nov. 5, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1975.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Cassie and Tom Miller of Danvers, Mass., Katy and Mike Kiger of Campbellsville and Nina and Mike McClure of Buford, Ga.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers, Iva Allison, Forest Anderson, Roberta Meryl Anderson, Christine Duncan, Thomas Anderson, Georgia Anderson, Laverne Dodson and Jesse Wessner.
Funeral will be on Thursday, June 3 at 1 p.m. at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Jim Durham, the Rev. Ted Taylor and the Rev. Haywood Riner officiated. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery in Lincoln County, Ky.
Pallbearers are Ricky Allison, Chris Arnett, Bruce Hartman, Michael Kiger, Mike Kiger and Mike McClure.

Lena Mae Bowles, 83, of Lawrenceburg, Ky., died on Sunday, June 6, 2004, in Lawrenceburg.
Daughter of the late Fulton Netherland and Cordie Newton Netherland, she was born on Jan. 8, 1921 in Taylor County, Ky. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville, Ky.
She was married
to Hayden Bowles Jr. on Sept. 6, 1941. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2003.
She is survived by three daughters and one son and their spouses, Ann Hayden Harden of Lexington, Kathy and Sidney Atwater of Tampa, Fla., Jackie and Mark Immel of Savannah, Ga., and David and Treva Bowles of Lawrenceburg; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amy Atwater; and five brothers and two sisters, Raymond Ambrose Netherland, James Netherland, Robert Netherland, Edwin Netherland, Jack Netherland, Barbara Ellen Netherland and Kathleen Netherland.
Funeral was on Tuesday, June 8 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville by the Rev. Charles McDonald. Burial was in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Julie Bowles, Ryan Bowles, Bobby Harden II, Leslie Immel, Lindsay Immel and Robin H. Williams.
Charles Ronald 'Ron' Darst, 67
Charles Ronald "Ron" Darst, 67, of Holy Cross, Ky., died on Monday, June 7, 2004, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon, Ky.
Son of the late George Edwin Darst and Mary Ellen "Dink" Smallwood Darst, he was born on Nov. 2, 1936 in Grayson County, Ky.
He served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and fought in Vietnam.
He was married
to Dorothy Elizabeth "Dot" Wood Darst, who preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 1988.
Survivors include six daughters, Susan Grainger of North Olmsted, Ohio, Diana Flanagan and Kim Price, both of Lebanon, Patty Poe of Bowling Green, Ky., Mary Hourigan of Gravel Switch, Ky., and Sarah Hampton of Glasgow, Ky.; two sons, Steve Darst of Leavenworth, Kan., and Scott Darst of Campbellsville; one sister, Betty Peerenboom of Holy Cross; one brother, Edwin Darst of Holy Cross; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 10 at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto by the Rev. Joseph R. Dant. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
Military rites will be performed by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
