James E. Anderson
LANCASTER -- Services for James Edward Anderson, 80, of Garrard County will be 1 p.m. Thursday at White Lick Baptist Church by the Revs. Ed Hubbard and Bill Pack. Burial will be in Paint Lick Cemetery.
He died Monday at his home.
Born April 22, 1920, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Edward and Ida Poynter Anderson. He was a farmer and deacon of White Lick Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Starnes Anderson; two sons, Paul Anderson of Manassas, Va., and Kenneth Anderson of Richmond; a daughter, Carol Whalen of Richmond; two brothers, Robert Anderson of Harrodsburg and Virgil Anderson of Crab Orchard; three sisters, Mary Boyd of Lancaster, Berdetta Trent and Parie Yates, both of Danville; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jeff, Mark and Joshua Anderson, William Jennings, Bill and Henry West, Jerome Issacs and Joe Maupin. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Starnes, Regis Whalen, Gary Ritchison, Stan Holton, Todd Ellis and deacons of White Lick Baptist Church.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the church.

J.H. Prewitt
LANCASTER -- Services for J.H. "Buddy" Prewitt, 76, of Cottage Avenue will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Rev. Everett Priddy. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
He died Monday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1924, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Pattie Ross Prewitt. He was retired from GTE after 30 years and attended Hyattsville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Goens Prewitt; two sons, Gary Prewitt and Keith Prewitt, both of Lancaster; a sister, Anna L. Prewitt Winkler of Richmond; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Jack and Cecil Goens, Leonard Carrier, Charlie Masters, Burl Cornelius and Tub Poynter. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren.

Dormas M. Russell
PERRYVILLE -- Services for Dormas M. "Bulldog" Russell Sr., 66, Highland Court, Danville, formerly of Perryville, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. Ron Holman and Gary Story.
He died Monday at his home.
Born July 21, 1934 in Washington County, he was a son of the late George A. and Mattie Barnes Russell. He was a retired electrician, a graduate of Perryville High School and had served in the Navy. He was a member of Perryville Baptist Church.
Survivors include his companion, Janice Huffman of Danville; two daughters, Julie Daniloff of Plymouth, Mass., and Angie Peavler of Perryville; a son, William Russell of Danville; three sisters, Edna Coyle of Perryville, Margaret Corder of Louisville and Ann Cantrell of Danville; two brothers, Truman Russell of Liberty and McClellan L. Russell of Bardstown; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Dormas Russell II and Ronnie Russell.
Pallbearers will be Danny Pelley, Tim Brock, Calvin Gibson, Bill Pruitt, Melvin Young and Bob Carrico.

Cochran, 65, of Ky. 49 died Saturday at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born Nov. 15, 1934, in Casey County, he was a son of the late William E. and Clara King Cochran. He was a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Wethington Cochran; a son, Lester J. Cochran of Sheraton, Ind.; three brothers, Roger Cochran of Liberty, and Monroe and Bill Cochran, both of Indiana; four sisters, Kathryn Clifton of Louisville, Edith Shadoan and Vanna Bowling, both of Danville, and Josephine Monroe of Indiana; and a granddaughter.
Services will be 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Leonard Strevels. A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Summit Lawn Cemetery, Westfield, Ind.

Herbert J. Harris
HARRODSBURG -- Herbert "H.J." Harris, 82, of Lexington died Saturday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lexington.
Born Nov. 3, 1917, in Mercer County, he was a son of the late Edmund and Ida Woods Harris. He was retried from the Internal Revenue Service, and an Army veteran of World War II where he was in the tank battalion. He was a member of Groveton Baptist Church in Alexandria, Va., and a 1937 graduate of Harrodsburg High School
Survivors include a brother, Johnny R. Harris of Lexington; two sisters, Armantha Perkins of Burgin and Mary Long of Harrodsburg.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Defoor. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Nute Hubbard
CRAB ORCHARD -- Nute Hubbard, 81, of Rome, Ga., died Sunday in Rome.
Born June 5, 1919, in Brodhead, he was a son of the late Abe and Katherine Miles Hubbard. He was a retired tractor operator for Luther Barnett Orange Grove Co. in Florida, and the widower of Lillie Mae Powell Hubbard.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Nelson of Rome, Ga.; a son, William R. Hubbard of Arcadia, Fla.; a brother, Aubry Hubbard of Hamilton, Ohio; four sisters, Elsie Helton and Octavia Rouse, both of Crab Orchard, Martha Simpson of Middletown, Ohio, and Vernia Woods of Oregon; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Freeman.
Services will be noon Wednesday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Norman Young. Burial will be in Negro Creek Cemetery, Brodhead.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Florence Manning Harris Owens, 99, of Lancaster, formerly of Lincoln County, died Sunday at Garrard County Hospital.
Born June 26, 1901, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late John B. and Linda Starnes Manning. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ. She was the widow of Richard Harris and Lovell Owens Sr.
Survivors include three stepdaughters, Thelma Brown of Brodhead, Irene Brown of Advance, Ind., and Edith Smith of Cincinnati; and five step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Lovell Owens Jr.; and a step granddaughter.
Services will be noon Friday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by J.M. Raulerson and Danny McKibben. Burial will be in Providence Church of Christ Cemetery.

STANFORD -- Stella Flannery Sizemore, 89, of the Highland community died Sunday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born Nov. 11, 1910, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Mary McGuffey Flannery. She was a homemaker, a member of Highland United Methodist Church and the widow of William S. Sizemore.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Sizemore of Terre Haute, Ind., and Paul Sizemore of Jacksonville, Fla.; six daughters, Barbara Casey of Waynesburg, Ruth Sizemore of Georgetown, Joyce Hampton of Stanford, Mary Banther, Imogene Gilbrech and Hettie Reynolds, all of Indianapolis; a sister, Lola Dick of Indianapolis; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Marvin Banther, Patrick and Raymond Gilbrech, Scott and George Sizemore Jr. and Keith Varvel.

Dean of Muncie; 16 grandchildren; and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
