William David Hourigan, 47

William David Hourigan, 47, formerly of Campbellsville, Ky., died recently at Camelot Health Center in Lyndon, Ky.

Son of Laura Hourigan and the late William David Hourigan Sr., he was born in Marion County, Ky., on Dec. 24, 1957. He was a graduate of Campbellsville High School and served four years in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors also include one daughter of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; one son of Bowling Green, Ky.; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Wesley Spalding; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Merle and Cheryl Hourigan and Curtis Hourigan.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Garland Hourigan.

Burial was in Lebanon National Cemetery.

Elizabeth Colyer Jones, 84

Elizabeth Colyer Jones, 84, of Green County, Ky., died on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Somerset, Ky.

Daughter of the late Forest and Pearl Colyer, she was born in Cabin Hollow, Ky., on June 22, 1919.

She was a member of Pitman Creek Baptist Church, a graduate of Ferguson High School and Eastern State Teachers College, and a teacher at Pulaski County Schools and Somerset City School, where she retired.

She was married to James P. Jones on Dec. 25, 1940. He survives.

Survivors also include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lida and Buford Smith of Burkesville, Ky., Evelyn and David Givens of Greensburg, Ky., and Anne Cox of Somerset; two sisters, Glenna Sears and Jo Chastain; seven grandchildren and their spouses, David Payton and Lynn Givens, Dr. Maurine Daniel and Sherri Givens, Julie Ann and Bill Howell, Jim Clark and Amy Smith, Kristy and Junior Janes, John Parker and Sara Cox and Michael Wayne Cox; and 12 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Givens, William Parker Givens, Lee Colyer Givens, John Gifford Givens, Hannah Catherine Givens, Matthew Walter Givens, Michael Payton Givens, Taylor Elizabeth Cox, Alexandria Anne Howell, Shelby Evelyn Howell, Emma Nicole Howell and Brennon Parker Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, Zelma Colyer, Bertha Colyer, Emma Colyer, Clyde Colyer, Bethel Colyer and Owen Colyer.

Funeral was Saturday, Nov. 27 at Pitman Creek Baptist Church in Pulaski County, Ky. Bros. Doug Eggers and S.L. Sears officiated. Burial was in Pitman Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Pitman Creek Baptist Church and can be made at Pulaski Funeral Home.

Jerry Keith Mayes, 63

Jerry Keith Mayes, 63, of North Columbia Avenue in Campbellsville died on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, at his home after an illness.

Son of Dorothy Roberts Mayes and the late Tommy Mayes, he was a member of First Methodist Church in Campbellsville.

Survivors also include three uncles, George Mayes and Claude Mayes, both of Louisville, Ky., and T.C. Roberts of Atlanta, Ga.; and one aunt, Nellie Graham of Glasgow, Ky.

Funeral was Friday, Dec. 3 at Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Revs. William Davenport and Ted Beams officiated. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Steve Horner, Larry Walters, Stanford Dicken, Marshall Wingler and Morris Pickett.

Mary Lynn McAfee, 41

Mary Lynn McAfee, 41, of Louisville, Ky., died at 11:07 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in Louisville.

Daughter of Douglas McAfee Sr. and Ruth Ann Akin, she was born in Taylor County, Ky., on Nov. 9, 1963. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Victoria and Aaron Judd of Mt. Sherman, Ky., and Angela Newton of Campbellsville; one grandson, Jacob Ray Judd of Mt. Sherman; her stepmother, Kim McAfee of Campbellsville; eight brothers, Jamie Piedad of Georgetown, Ky., D.J. Robertson and Scott Robinson, both of Louisville, Doug McAfee Jr. of Campbellsville, Mike Bills and Danny Bills, both of Greensburg, Ky., Tony Bills of Franklin, Ky., and Josh Landis of Campbellsville; and two sisters, Pearl Lambert of Lexington, Ky., and Simone McGoldrick of Mississippi; and one uncle, Bobby Akin of Campbellsville.

Funeral was Thursday, Dec. 2 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Revs. Larry Rhodes and George Hourigan officiated. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Justin Anderson, Aaron Judd, Doug McAfee Jr., Jamie Piedad, D.J. Robertson and Scott Robertson.

Claudine Florence Milby, 75

Claudine Florence Milby, 75, of Green County, Ky., died on Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Ky.

Daughter of the late Robert Noah Milby and Jennie Ward Milby, she was born in Green County on April 25, 1929. She was a member of Oak Forrest Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a homemaker.

She married Robert Woodson Milby on Dec. 24, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1998.

Survivors include six sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Anne Mary Milby, Susie McKinney, Marcella Milby, Lela and Arthur Bradshaw and Mary Milby, all of Green County, Mary Adkins of Aberdeen, Md., and Welby DeSpain of Louisville, Ky.; five nephews and their spouses, William Robert and Jennifer Ann DeSpain of New Albany, Ind., Larry and Wanda McKinney, Robert and Debbie Bradshaw and Kenneth and Amy Bradshaw, all of Green County, and Jack Jr. and Barbara Adkins of Pennsylvania; five nieces, Elizabeth Jean Dotson and her husband, Jewell, Cathy Jo Milby, Shirley Milby and Jean Milby, all of Green County, and Paula Adkins of Aberdeen, Md.; six great-nephews, Blake Austin Dotson, Tristen Lee Dotson, Chad McKinney and Travis Bradshaw, all of Green County, Robert Trenton DeSpain of New Albany, Ind., and Justin Adkins of Pennsylvania; and four great-nieces, Cymantha Adkins of Aberdeen, Md., Kayla Bradshaw and Chelsea Bradshaw, both of Green County, and Emily Adkins of Pennsylvania.

Funeral was Thursday, Dec. 2 at Cowherd and Parrot Funeral Home in Greensburg, Ky. Bro. Robert Knight officiated. Burial was in Ward Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bobby Bradshaw, Jewell Dotson, Kenny Bradshaw, Donnie Vaughn, James Elmore and William Vaughn.

Christine Jones Paxton, 84

Christine Jones Paxton, 84, of Green County, Ky., died on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

Daughter of the late George Harrison Jones and Cora Bertha Warren, she was born in Green County on Nov. 12, 1920. She was a member of Allendale Missionary Baptist Church and a retired Green County School System teacher.

She married Cecil A. Paxton on Nov. 14, 1966. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1998.

Survivors include one brother-in-law, Calvin Paxton of Greensburg, Ky.; two sisters-in-law, Margie Whitlock and Georgia Paxton, both of Greensburg; and two special friends, Mitchell and Janet Milby of Green County.

Funeral was Saturday, Nov. 27 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Bros. Kenny Kerr and Ancil Durrett officiated. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Elmore, Timmy Berry, James Jones, Finis Berry, DeWayne Dobson, William Berry and Boyce Dobson.

Frances B. Pepper 75

Frances B. Pepper, 75, of Patterson Court in Campbellsville, died on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky., after an illness.

Daughter of the late Paul Sr. and Dorothy Blair Bennett of Adair County, Ky., she was a retired receptionist from the office of Dr. James Ewing.

She was married to Glenn Pepper, who survives.

Survivors also include one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Steven and Sandy Pepper of Sarasota, Fla.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Pam Parker and Lynn and Todd Horn, all of Campbellsville; six grandchildren, Tracy Gerstler, Jennifer Pepper, Andrew Pepper, Holly Parker, Jacob Horn and Weston Horn; two great-grandchildren, Austin Adams and Nathan Adams; and one aunt, Irene Adams of Louisville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Bennett Jr. and Glenn Bennett.

Funeral was Monday, Nov. 29 at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. The Rev. Joe Hatchett officiated. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were John Blair Bennett, James Earl Bennett, Tommy Pepper, Phillip Earl Nunn, W.D. Chaney and Jimmy Adams.
