Mrs. Joyce Wright Robertson, the daughter of the late Fred Wright and Mary Lucy Rogers, was born Sunday, October 11, 1936 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, October 14, 2002 in Elizabethtown at the Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was 66 years and 4 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a former machine operator for Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, having retired in 1998.
She united in marriage in January 1952 to Jack Elwood Robertson who survives.
To this union was born one daughter and four sons: Brenda Kay Ferguson, Kenneth Elwood Robertson and Freddie Robertson all of Donansburg, Gary Robertson of Campbellsville and Timmy Robertson who preceded her in death on November 21, 1995.
Also surviving are two sisters: Zelma Mars of Donansburg and Frances Mars of Grab; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
Mrs. Robertson was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Megan Dawn Robertson on January 7, 1987.
The funeral service for Mrs. Joyce Wright Robertson will be conducted Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. Rev. Larry Wisdom will be officiating.

Mr. Vernon Wilson “Dad” White, son of the late Mr. Samuel White and Mrs. Eldora Judd White, was born September 30, 1927 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, September 27, 2002 at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was 74 years, 11 months, and 28 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
He united in marriage to Miss Anna Catherine Cook on January 15, 1953, who survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, two sons, and their spouses: Judy & Robert “Joe” Simpson, Vernon “Tinker” & Anita White, Sammy & Kaye White, all of Green County; six grandchildren: Robbie Simpson, Keith White, Amy Coffey, Justin White, Crystal Simpson, and Joshua White, all of Green County; three great-grandchildren: Dylan Lile, Garrett Wilson, and Brookelyn Coffey, all of Green County; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. White was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters: Roger Edward “Bob” White, Ester White Milby, Betty White, Romie Lewis “Pete” White, Johnny William “Joe” White, Alouisea “Easer” Patterson, Thelma Irene White, and Charlei “Drew” White.
The funeral services for Mr. Vernon Wilson “Dad” White, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 29, 2002 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, with burial in the Macedonia Cemetery. Rev. Twyman Davis will be officiating.

Mr. Elam Lindie Compton, age 94 years, of Greensburg, passed away Friday morning at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
He is survived by 1 son and 1 daughter: Goldnell Redmon of Indiana and Nolan Jack Compton of Greensburg.
A close friend: Rebecca Anderson of Greensburg.
13 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends survive.

Mrs. Geneva Meadows Darnell, the daughter of the late Nathan Meadows and Della Posey Meadows, was born Tuesday, June 2, 1931 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, January 25, 2002 in Greensburg at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home. She was 71 years, 7 months and 23 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. She was a former machine operator for American Needlecraft.
She united in marriage on November 11, 1950 to Cecil Loyd “Buck” Darnell who preceded her in death on September 16, 1993.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: James Loyd “Peediddle” Darnell and his wife Kim of Greensburg; a daughter: Christie Darnell of Greensburg.
Also surviving is a brother: Chester Meadows and his wife: Cymbelline of Greensburg; a sister: Lorene Pierce and her husband Alvin of Greensburg and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mrs. Geneva Meadows Darnell will be conducted Monday, January 27, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Darnell Cemetery. Rev. Dwight Forderhase and Rev. Frank Roberson will be officiating.

Mr. Finis Durrett, the son of the late James Durrett and Mary Alice Akin Durrett, was born Sunday, March 2, 1919 in Green County and departed this life on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 in Louisville at the Jewish Hospital. He was 83 years, 10 months and 19 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church. He was the owner of Durrett Realty, a former Green County Judge from 1958-1966, a former owner of Bale Tobacco Sales Warehouse in Horse Cave, and co-owner of Burley Tobacco Warehouse #1 & #2 and Farmers Tobacco Warehouse in Greensburg, a member of the Kentucky Auctioneer Association, he had been in the used car business and concrete business in Green and Taylor County and had owned several thousand acres of farmland in Green and Hart County.
He was drafted into the United States Army, but was not accepted because of his large size.
He united in marriage to Hazel Wallace who preceded him in death on October 21, 1967.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Finis Wayne and Frances Durrett of Greensburg; a brother: Alfonso Durrett of Hodgenville; two grandchildren: Barry Wayne Durrett and his wife Stephanie of Louisville, Stephen Todd Durrett and his wife Angie of Greensburg; two step-grandchildren: Darlene Henderson and her husband Jack of Texas and Lana Bush and her husband Danny of Greensburg; two great grandchildren: Heizer of Greensburg and Justin of Louisville; six step-great grandchildren; a longtime friend and assistant: Beverly Ingram of Greensburg and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
Mr. Durrett was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters: Ora, Ores, Hamilton, C.D., Woodrow, Mary Liza, and Earl Durrett.
The funeral service for Mr. Finis Durrett will be conducted Friday, January 24, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev. Stan Durrett and Rev. Kevin Brantley will be officiating.
