Mr. Richard L. Settles, the son of the late Elmer and Katie Bryant Settles, was born Wednesday, November 12, 1930 in Marion County, Kentucky and departed this life on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in Louisville at his residence. He was 75 years, 5 months of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Southeast Christian Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict.

He united in marriage to Mary Davenport, who preceded him in death on November 3, 1994. He later united in marriage on June 22, 1996 to Hazel M. Robertson Root, who survives.

Also surviving are six children: Douglas Settles of Green County, Dale Warf of Louisville, Thomas D. Root, Frank Root, Teresa Bitner, Pam Johnson, and Enola Patterson all of Illinois; one brother: James Settles of Allen, Kentucky; three Grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and great-children also survive.

Mr. Settles was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

The funeral services for Mr. Richard Settles will be conducted Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Macedonia Cemetery with Military Honors. Rev. Clayton Klingenfus will be officiating the funeral service.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Louisville and can be made at the funeral home.

Ms. Margaret Ermon Mitchell, daughter of the late Robert Woolridge and Cathrine Barnett Woolridge, was born on Monday, November 26, 1934 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Odyssey Health Care Center in Tucson, Arizona. She was 71 years, 6 months and 21 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a former healthcare provider at the Greenhill Manor Nursing Facility.

Survivors include a son: David Mitchell of Greensburg; three daughters: Carolyn Wright of Lebanon, Virginia Mitchell of Arizona and Margaret Gunn of Louisville; a brother: Paul Woolridge of Lexington; a sister: Martha Reed of Lexington; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Ms. Margaret Ermon Mitchell will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 23, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Mitchell Family Cemetery. Bro. Clyde Beverly and Bro. Louis Henry will be officiating.

Mrs. ANN CANTRELL PICKETT

Mrs. Ann C. Pickett, daughter of the late Frank T. Cantrell and Mary Marcum Cantrell, was born on Tuesday, June 5, 1923 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Friday morning, June 23, 2006 at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was 83 years and 18 days of age.

She united in marriage to Walter J. Pickett of the Pickett's Chapel Community in Adair County on June 11, 1949 who survives. They spent 57 blissful years together.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church in Louisville and the Greensburg Presbyterian Church. She was a graduate of Green County High School and the University of Kentucky. She was a librarian for the Green County High School prior to her marriage in 1949, a member of the Alpha Z Delta Sorority, Board member of the Rosanna Hughes Home for the elderly, Valley Woman's Club, and the Women's Society of Presbyterian Church.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Lewis and Patti Pickett of Westchester, Pennsylvania; a daughter: Catherine Pickett Nicks of Sellersburg, Indiana; five grandchildren: Dover Pickett and Jay Pickett of Westchester, Pennsylvania, twin granddaughters, Sydni & Shelbi Nicks and grandson, Austin Nicks all of Sellersburg, Indiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Pickett was also preceded in death by a brother: Lewis Franklin Cantrell.

The funeral services for Mrs. Ann C. Pickett will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Central Time, Monday, June 26, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, Kentucky with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev. Charlie Taylor will be officiating.

Visitation is requested from 1-4 P.M., Est. Time, Sunday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, Indiana and after 9 A.M., CST., Monday until time of the service at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Memorials are suggested to the Greensburg Presbyterian Church, which can be made at the Funeral Home.

Mr. C. G. Simpson, age 88, of the Grab Community of Green County, died Monday, May 29th at his home.

He is survived by his wife: Eugenia Judd Simpson of the Grab Community.

3 daughters & 2 sons-in-law: Sandy & Clell Gentry of Greensburg, Glenda & Steve Stengal of Grab, and Ree Lomax of North Carolina.

3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

The funeral services for Mr. C. G. Simpson will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, with burial in the Green County Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5:00 P.M., Tuesday at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home.

Mr. James A. Webb of Greensburg, son of the late Edgar Webb and Lockie Bell Webb, was born on Friday, September 3, 1915 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville. He was 90 years and 10 months of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army, a millwright for 36 years with the Sangamo Electric Company in Springfield, Illinois, a member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge #4 in Illinois, a member of the International Association of Machinist #628 and a dedicated blood donor for the American Red Cross.

He united in marriage to Irene Bibb on February 25, 1938 who survives.

Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Janice Webb of Glasgow, Darryl and Judy Webb of Metamora, Illinois; a daughter: Barbara Antonini of Springfield, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Susan Cross of Nashville, Tennessee, Steve Webb of Glasgow, Lisa Fike of Metamora, Illinois, Tom Antonini of Glasgow, Shelly Taylor of Metamora, Illinois, Sheri Pendry of Richmond, Michigan and Mike Antonini of Scottsdale, Arizona; seven great-grandchildren; two nephews and a niece; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Webb was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Lallah Tucker and Claude Webb.

The funeral services for Mr. James A. Webb will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Ladies Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Jim Hagan and Bro. William Davenport will be officiating. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Dee Mildred Druin Weible of Greensburg, daughter of the late George Al Pierce and Ada Stearman Pierce, was born on Sunday, April 13, 1913 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, July 3, 2006 at Greenhill Manor Nursing Facility. She was 93 years, 2 months and 20 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith and a former employee for Fruit of the Loom.

She united in marriage to Homer Druin who preceded her in death on April 30, 1973. She later united in marriage to John Albert Weible who also preceded her in death on February 16, 1999.

She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter: Robert Ray 'Buster' Druin on May 12, 2000 and Nancy Carol Underwood on December 29, 2004.

Survivors include a grandson and granddaughter-in-law: Jimmy and Michelle Underwood of Greensburg; two great-grandchildren: Stephanie Cox and Cody Underwood both of Greensburg; a brother and sister-in-law: Alvin and Lorene Pierce of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Ms. Dee Mildred Druin Weible will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 7, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Hodges Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Barry Ward will be officiating.
