Mr. Amos Simmons Wright of Greensburg, son of the late Amos Ezra Wright and Willia Wood Judd Wright, was born on Friday, October 12, 1923 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, June 26, 2006 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 82 years, 8 months and 14 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and attended Buffalo Baptist Church. He was a World War II and Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Army, a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124, and a life member of the VFW #5813 and a self employed Carpenter. He was a very dedicated gentleman by traveling from county to county making sure a flag was placed at all veteran's grave sites.
He united in marriage to Mildred Mather who preceded him in death on February 16, 2006.
Survivors include a special son and daughter-in-law: Maurice Wayne and Delane Wright of Summersville; two step-daughters and two step-sons; three grandchildren: Marcus Wright and his wife Shelly of Greensburg, Chris Wright and Brandon Judd both of Greensburg; three great-grandchildren: McKena Wright and Madison Judd of Greensburg and Olivia Judd of Taylor County; two brothers: Owen Wright, Walter Wright and his wife Eula all of Greensburg; a sister: Louetta Atwell and her husband Robert of Hart County; a sister-in-law: Janet Wright of Greensburg; a special friend: Carol L. Scroggin of Louisville; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mr. Wright was also preceded in death by two brothers: Hobert Wright and Frank Wright; a sister: Marion Wright; a sister-in-law: Mary Sue Wright; and a step-son.
The funeral services for Mr. Amos Simmons Wright will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens with full military rites. Bro. Rodney Troutman and Bro. William Karnes will be officiating.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to VFW Post 5813 or Hospice of Central Kentucky, which can be made at the funeral home.

Mrs. Delcia Mae Burris Wright of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Allen Burris and Annie Mae Slinker Burris, was born on Thursday, October 29, 1931 in Green County and departed this life on Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, Kentucky. She was 74 years, 8 months and 5 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She united in marriage to Homer Shively Wright on April 2, 1955 who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter: Carol Mitchell of Greensburg; a son: Eddie Wright of Louisville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services for Mrs. Delcia Mae Burris Wright will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Tarter's Chapel Cemetery in Adair County. Bro. Shawn Cadell and Bro. Jim Durham will be officiating.

Michael Blayton McKibben, infant son of Michael Brandon McKibben and Ashley Nichole Jeffries of Greensburg was stillborn on Tuesday, June 27th at the Springview Hospital in Lebanon.
Besides his parents he is survived by a sister: Audrey Nichole McKibben of Greensburg.
Grandparents: Junior & Patricia Shuffett, Jeff Jeffries and Tommy & Rebecca Beams all of Greensburg.
Great Grandparents: Elsie Beams and Lavera Brandenburg both of Greensburg

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 A.M., Saturday at the Bishop Cemetery.

Ms. Beatrice Irene Wright Loyall of Greensburg, daughter of the late Charles Bradley Wright and Mamie Ether Wright, was born on Saturday, August 7, 1937 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was 68 years, 10 months and 26 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Separate Baptist faith and a homemaker.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Cindy Loyall of Greensburg; a grandson: Justin Edwards of Campbellsville; three brothers: Rev. Herbert Lester Wright, Robert Sylvester Wright and Randall Wright all of Greensburg; two special friends: Lottie Phillpot and Pauline Pike both of Campbellsville and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Michael Scott Hoppis of Greensburg, son of the late Troy Carl Hoppis and Estella Elizabeth Strong Hoppis, was born on Tuesday, December 1, 1959 in Maricopa County, Arizona, and departed this life on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville. He was 46 years, 7 months and 8 days of age.
He served in the United States Navy from 1978 until December 13, 1985.
Survivors include three daughters: Elizabeth Ellen Hoppis of Kansas City, Missouri, Adrianna Estella Hoppis of Campbellsville and Amber Rochelle Hoppis of Greensburg; two sisters: Patricia Wiggins of Tennessee and Rita Hoppis of Arkansas; a brother: James Hoppis of Tennessee; a half sister: Linda Jo Goldstein of Canada; aunt & uncle: Keith and Elizabeth Jerrell of Arkansas; 3 special friends: Shaunna Melson, Ashley Bybee and Lynn Davis all of Greensburg.
There will be a graveside funeral service at 1:00 P.M., Friday, July 15, 2006 at the Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville.

Mr. Doyle Merlin Akin, son of the late Charlie Akin and Effie Durrett Akin was born on Sunday, September 14, 1924 in Jefferson County, Kentucky and departed this life on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg. He was 81 years and 9 months of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Allendale Baptist Church, a former Mechanic for the United States Government at Fort Knox, a member of the Louisville Masonic Plumb Lodge, he served in the United States Army Reserve and was a part-time farmer.
Mr. Akin united in marriage to Zora Price on October 4, 1945, who survives.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Dodie and Bob Rahill of Buffalo; two sons: Dennis Akin and his wife Debbie of Louisville and Bobby Lee Akin of Louisville; four grandsons: Robert Kevin Rahill of Bowling Green, Dennis Scott Akin of Nebraska, Derric Akin of Louisville and Josh Akin of Louisville; three great-grandchildren: Robert Joseph Rahill of Bowling Green, Madelyn Akin and Alexis Akin both of Nebraska; one sister: Laola Milby of Greensburg.
The funeral services for Mr. Doyle M. Akin will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bell Cemetery. Bro. Leslie Jewell will be officiating.
