Myzetta Kessler Wilcoxson, daughter of the late James A. Kessler and Leorah B. Henderson Kessler, was born on Wednesday, January 2, 1918 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She was 88 years, 8 months and 1 day of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liletown United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Rual E. Wilcoxson on November 30, 1939 who preceded her in death on May 4, 1976. She was also preceded in death by one daughter: Judith Ann McKinney.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Douglas and Gina Wilcoxson of Somerset; a son-in-law: Robert McKinney of Greensburg; four grandchildren and spouses: Amanda and Donnie Watson of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Angela and Gary Whittle of Danville, Emily Wilcoxson of Elizabethtown, and Chris and Tiffany Wilcoxson of Brunswick, Maine; five great-grandchildren: Joni Wilcoxson, Jordan Wilcoxson and Dustin Wilcoxson all of Maine, Casey Whittle and Garrick Whittle both of Danville; a sister: Gladys Pierce of Greensburg and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Myzetta Kessler Wilcoxson will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Wilcoxson Cemetery in the Liletown Community. Rev. Chris Wilcoxson and Rev. Doug Wilcoxson will be officiating.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Methodist Children's Home in Versailles, which can be made at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ora Pearl Bell Akin, daughter of the late Creed Craddock Bell and Minnie Lee Perkins Bell, was born on Saturday, May 12, 1906 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Metcalfe Healthcare Center in Edmonton. She was 100 years, 4 months and 10 days of age.

She united in marriage to Arthur Akin on September 10, 1930 and he preceded her in death in October 1973.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was a former bookkeeper for Akin's Garage in Greensburg in which, she and her husband operated from about 1939 until his death.

Survivors include three nephews and a niece: Bill VanCleave of Boulder, Colorado, Dorothy Russell of Cleveland, Tennessee, Buford 'Bim' Bell of Greensburg and Randall Bell of Campbellsville; four great-nieces, three great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: Benjamin 'Jack' Bell, Hattie VanCleave and Robert Lewis Bell.

The funeral services for Mrs. Ora Pearl Bell Akin will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 24, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev. Mike Akridge will be officiating.

Mr. LAWRENCE "PUNK" T. BALE

Mr. Lawrence T. “Punk” Bale of Summersville, son of the late John I. Bale and Effie Whitlow Bale, was born on Sunday, June 3, 1917 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, September 8, 2006 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. He was 89 years, 3 months and 5 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Aetna Grove Baptist Church, a retired truck driver for the State Highway Department where he worked for 21 years and was a farmer.

He united in marriage to Dessie Shield Bale on August 13, 1938 who survives.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Mayola Bale of Summersville; a daughter and son-in-law: Wanda and Glenn Craddock of Linwood; three grandchildren and their spouses: Duane and Monica Bale of Green County, Ricky and Lisa Craddock of Mt. Washington, and Monisa and Terry Lee Gardner of Campbellsville; six great-grandchildren: Korey Craddock and Jordan Craddock both of Mt. Washington, Cody Gardner and Skye Gardner both of Campbellsville, and Morgan Bale and Zach Bale both of Greensburg; a sister-in-law: Ruby Bale of Magnolia; a brother-in-law: Morris Price of Summersville; a special nephew: Terry Price of Summersville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Bale was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister: Pat Bale, Floyd Bale, Wilburn “Bill” Bale and Ruth Price.

The funeral services for Mr. Lawrence T. “Punk” Bale will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Aetna Grove Cemetery. Rev. Irvin Milby, Rev. Kelvin Edwards and Wilbert Bennett will be officiating.

Mrs. Nellie Clovis Coffey, daughter of the late Robert Moran and Minnie Judd Moran, was born on Tuesday, July 16, 1918 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 88 years, 1 month and 18 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, a homemaker and a former employee for Skaggs Transfer in Greensburg.

She united in marriage to Ellis Lincoln Coffey who preceded her in death on March 11, 1997.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Willard “Oz” and Edyth Coffey of Greensburg; three grandchildren: Tim Coffey of Washington State, Mike Coffey of Mississippi and Anne Yetter and her husband Terry of Arizona; one great-grandchild: Macy Yetter of Arizona; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one sister: Ollie Mae Moran.

The funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Clovis Coffey will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 8, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Rev. Dwight Forderhase will be officiating.

Mr. Rollin Rudolph Davenport, son of the late James Chapman and Osley Moran Davenport, was born on Thursday, December 18, 1919 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He was 86 years, 9 months and 20 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church. He was a former laborer for Clark Casual, a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army and a member of the Rod Lowe Post 124.

He united in marriage to Martha Peggy Elizabeth Judd Davenport on October 13, 1945 and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2002.

Survivors include two sons: Bobby Joe Davenport and his wife Marti of Mt. Washington and Ricky Davenport of Bardstown; a daughter: Patricia Davenport of Greensburg; two grandsons: James Davenport of Mt. Washington and Barry Davenport and his wife Susan of Bardstown; three great-grandchildren: Kayla Sparks of Summersville, Jordan Pinkston of Bardstown and Katerin Davenport of Shepherdsville; a sister: Geraldine Hamilton of Campbellsville, a brother: Mitchell Davenport of Illinois and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Davenport Cemetery, which can be made at the funeral home.

Rev. James Grant Davis of Louisville, son of the late Flem Jefferson Davis and Alberta Chaudoin Davis was born on Friday, March 21, 1919 and went home to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Louisville. He was 87 years, 5 months and 30 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and former pastor of the Community General Baptist Church in Louisville and a retired building contractor.

He leaves behind a loving wife of 67 years, Lura Agnes Whitlow Davis. They united in marriage on February 10, 1940.

Other survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: James and Maureen Davis of Elizabethtown, Randal Davis of Greensburg, Roy & Pam Davis of Florida and Donald & Carlene Davis of Louisville; three daughters and sons-in-law: Betty Druen of Hodgenville, Doris and Joe Roy of Jamestown, and Faye and Mike Moore of Shepherdsville; a brother: Ernest Davis of Greensburg; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rev. Davis was also preceded in death by a son: Jerry Davis; two great-grandchildren: Savannah Lee Deacon and Blake Deacon; three sisters: Leorah Compton, Mattie Wood Gurnsey and Mae Conley; two half brothers: Clarence Davis and Lanis “Bub” Davis.

The funeral services for Rev. James Grant Davis will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Cst. at the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church in Green County with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Garnett Wayne Davis will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 Est. Thursday at the Owen Funeral Home on Dixie Highway in Louisville, after 3:00 P.M., Cst., Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and after 11:00 A.M., Saturday at the Church until time of service.
