Mrs. Hortense “Miss Teenie” Durrett, age 82 of Summersville, passed away on early Wednesday in Campbellsville at the Metzmeier Nursing Home.

Survivors include a daughter: Rhonda Durrett Parker of Campbellsville.

2 grandchildren: Kailen Parker of Campbellsville and Megan Parker of California.

2 brothers: Justice Milby of Greensburg and Clay Milby of Louisville.

3 sisters: Carness Scott of Greensburg, Delma Willian of Buffalo and Jean Sandidge of Indiana.

2 brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: Rev. Ancil Durrett , Calvin “Toad” Durrett and Louise Durrett Hodges all of Summersville and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hortense “Miss Teenie” Durrett will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. CST at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens.

Family requests visitation after 1:00 P.M. CST on Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Memorials are suggested to the Activities Fund at the Metzmeier Nursing Home c/o Funeral Home,

Mr. LONZO CURRY
Born: 02/20/1920
Died: 10/30/2006
Visitation: From 11 to 8 Cst. Thursday, 11/2/06 at the Greensburg Christian Church & after 7 a.m. Friday at the Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M., Friday, 11/3/2006 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home
Interment: Maple Hill Cemetery

Mr. Lonzo Curry, son of the late Roy Curry and Evelyn Bishop Curry, was born on Tuesday, February 20, 1940 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, October 30, 2006 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. He was 66 years, 8 months and 10 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Christian Church. He was a self-employed plumber for 40 years and a former grave digger.

He united in marriage to Kay Stephens on December 22, 1956 who survives.

Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Lonnie and Gloretta Curry, and Steve and Darlene Curry all of Greensburg; a daughter and son-in-law: Regina and Michael Richards of Magnolia; four brothers: Herman Curry and Danny Curry both of Campbellsville, Jerry Curry of Greensburg and Willie Curry of Arizona; a sister: Vanda Wilson of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Curry was also preceded in death by two daughters: Jenny Lynn Curry and Clara Jean Curry.

The funeral services for Mr. Lonzo Curry will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Green County. Bro. Les Bullock, Bro. Leo Curry and Dustin Curry will be officiating.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Greensburg Christian Church, which can be made at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sybil Hortense Burris, daughter of the late Orlando Carter and Nannie Jeffries Carter, was born on Wednesday, July 14, 1920 in the Exie Community of Green County, and departed this life on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. She was 86 years, 3 months and 15 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summershade United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Rue Simpson Burris on June 7, 1939 who preceded her in death on February 10, 2004.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Bobby Joe and Rita Burris of Buffalo, and Jackie and Sue Burris of Campbellsville; a daughter: Betty Davis of Shepherdsville; three brothers: Pete Carter of Tennessee, Shirley Carter of Campbellsville and Bobby Carter of Louisville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Burris was also preceded in death by an infant son: Frankie Burris; four sisters and two brothers: Linnie Vetters, Mattie Vetters, Margie Bagby, Pansy Mays, Floyd Carter and James Carter; half brothers and sisters: Florence Gowens, Artie Berry, Morris Carter and Ociey Carter.

The funeral services for Mrs. Sybil Hortense Burris will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Summershade Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Carter and Bro. Dennis Parrigan will be officiating.

Mr. Orville Johnny Beard, age 81, of Green County, departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2006, at the Nortons Hospital in Louisville.

He is survived by his wife: Jewell Neagle Beard of Green County

1 son and 2 daughters: Larry Beard of Edmonton, Barbara Thompson of Glasgow, and Oleta Carol Carter of Louisville.

4 grandchildren: Chris Thompson of Center, Todd Beard of Bowling Green, Stephanie Thompson of Glasgow, and Jeremy Thompson of Glasgow.

2 great-grandchildren: Ashton Thompson of Center and Natalie Shirley of Glasgow.

1 step-grandchild and 3 step-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Mr. Orville Johnny Beard, will conducted Wednesday at 2 PM CST at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Liletown Cemetery.

Family requests visitation from 3-8 PM on Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Memorials are suggested to the Liletown Cemetery Fund and can be made at the funeral home

Ruby Agnes Walker Beams, daughter of the late William Homer Walker and Vivian Elozia Heizer Walker, was born on Monday, March 27, 1933 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at the Medco Center in Campbellsville, Kentucky. She was 73 years, 6 months and 18 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church and was a homemaker and mother.

She united in marriage to Winford Lewis Beams on December 29, 1951 who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Brenda and Shelton Davis of Greensburg; three sons: Harold Beams, William Beams and Randall Beams all of Greensburg; six grandchildren: Bryan Scott Montgomery, Timothy Daniel Montgomery and Tiffany Beams all of Greensburg; Samuel Dalton Beams of Campbellsville, Nathaniel Austin Beams and Tristin Lee Beams both of Greensburg; a sister: Carolyn Jane Kidd of Magnolia; five great-grandchildren; a niece, several nephews, relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Agnes Walker Beams will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Dennis Penick will be officiating.

Ilah Dean Adkins, daughter of the late Ezra W. Adkins and Edna G. Tucker Adkins, was born on Friday, August 9, 1929 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at her home in Magnolia. She was 77 years, 2 months and 19 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church. She was a School Teacher for 30 plus years for the Larue County Board of Education. She was also a tutor after retiring and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include a sister: Martha Patterson of Lewisville, Ohio; a brother: John W. Adkins of Pendleton, Kentucky; an aunt: Jenny Davenport of Greensburg; three nieces; three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial funeral service for Ilah Dean Adkins will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. The family chose cremation and there will be burial in the Greensburg Cemetery. Bro. Gary Talley will be officiating.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Magnolia Fire Department.
