Ronald “Rattler” Thompson 54, of 420 Meadowview Drive; Island, Kentucky died Monday July 3, 2006 at the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. Ronald Owen Thompson was born March 5, 1952 in Island to the late Victor “Bud” and Adelene Brown Thompson, was married
to the former Sharon Carol Whitaker on October 10, 1970 and was better known as “Rattler” by his family and friends. He had worked as a transmission mechanic for 30 years, retired from Construction Machinery Corporation in Owensboro and was a member of the Island United Methodist Church. Ronald was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball and Cincinnati Reds fan. He also enjoyed playing pool, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and being with both family and friends. Those who knew Ron, knew he was a very loving and caring person and always had others best interest at heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sharon; a daughter and her husband, LaDonna and Tony Calvert of Island; four grandchildren whom he admired, Erika Lauren Calvert, Michael Lee Thompson Calvert, Isaac Kyle Calvert and Mariah Nicole Calvert all of Island; a sister, Donna F. Moore of Island and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Muster Funeral homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Patricia Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Island Community Cemetery. Friends may visit with the Thompson Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 8:00 A.M. until time of services Thursday at Musters in Livermore.

Alma Hudson Gore 83, of 1013 East 19th Street; Owensboro, Kentucky died Tuesday July 4, 2006 at her home in Owensboro. Alma Belle Ruby was born October 13, 1922 in Daviess County to the late Other and Magolia Watts Ruby, was married
to Charles Hudson until his death in 1971 and was later married
to Robert Gore. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Faith. Alma enjoyed playing cards, gardening and being with her family and friends. In addition to her husbands, Alma was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Hudson died September 24, 2003.
Survivors include a son, Billy Hudson of Apopka, Florida; three daughters, Regina Vanover of Utica, Terry Shocklee and Cheryl Stinogle both of Livermore; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Rachel Joyner of Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Muster Funeral homes, Livermore Chapel with Hilton Shocklee and Tonya Goodall officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Livermore. William R. “Bill” Curry 77, of 14411 Kentucky 136 East; Livermore, Kentucky died Wednesday July 5, 2006 at his home. William Raymond Curry was born August 1, 1928 in St. Mary’s, Ontario, Canada to the late Raymond Wood and Janetta Kirkpatrick Curry, was married
to the former Betty Dean Brown on August 13, 1959 and was better known as “Bill” by his family and friends. He was the owner and operator of Curry Farms and was an active member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Bill was also a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, was a trustee of the Woodmen of the World Lodge # 319 in Hartford and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He also enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren, farming with his son, Stewart, reading and playing couples bunco.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Betty; a son and his wife, Stewart and Donna Curry of Livermore; a daughter, Robin Curry Simmons of Livermore; a granddaughter, Stephanie Curry; a grandson, Raymond Curry; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Juanita Hoover and Doris and Jack Turner both of Livermore; an aunt, Deva Manders of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel with the Rev. Clifford Sparks and the Rev. David Combs officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in McLean County. Active pallbearers will be John Hoover, Mark Turner, Wayne Curry, Robbie Magan, Mark King, Brandon Hoover, Tom White, and Paul Wiswary. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Curry, Lars King, Brian Hoover, Timothy Evans, and Matthew Turner. Friends may visit with the Curry Family from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Shelton Free 71, of 6486 Kentucky 85 East; Island, Kentucky died Monday July 10, 2006 at the Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro. Eben Shelton Free was born August 24, 1934 in McLean County to the late Ernest and Eunice Taylor Free and had retired from the Local #1392 of Owensboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James R. “Hammer” Free died January 15, 1997 and by an infant sister, Addie Lou Free.
Survivors include the love of his life and mother of his children, Linda Free; a son, Steve Free of Livermore; two daughters and their husbands, Shellie and Bill Baker of Calhoun and Vicky and Kerry Howard of Island; two grandchildren, Jessica Graham and Kelly Baker both of Calhoun; a great granddaughter, Jillian Graham of Calhoun; four brothers, Gene Free of Madisonville, Bennie Free of Buck Creek, Alton Free of Livermore and Eddie Free of Colorado; and a sister, Ora Caudill of Owensboro.

Earl Decker was born April 22, 1922 in Drakesboro, Kentucky to the late Jack and Lillian Hardin Decker. Earl was a retired coal miner and attended the Calhoun Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy L. Bittner of Evansville; two half brothers, Gene Scott of Calhoun and Junior Scott of Owensboro; a half sister, Catherine Moore of Evansville; a step brother, Homer Barnett of Owensboro and a step sister, Nelda Pitt of Henderson.

Anna Louise Daugherty 73, of 5816 Kentucky 138 East; Island, Kentucky died Thursday July 13, 2006 at her home. Anna Louise Hayes was born March 17, 1933 in Owensboro to the late William Otho and Thelma Hazelwood Hayes and was married
to Harold Eugene Daugherty on June 15, 1950. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Beech Grove. Anna Louise also enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time with her family, working puzzles, attending yard sales, and talking and sharing with people. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Gene Daugherty died March 6, 1987; and a daughter, Betty Ann Nelson died December 27, 1996.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Harold Lee Daugherty, Robert Council and Madeline Daugherty both of Anton and Arthur Eugene and Barbara Daugherty of Calhoun; three daughters and their husbands, Linda and George Deardurff of Morocco, Indiana, Zetta Mae and John Bottom of Beech Grove and Martha Daugherty of Island; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Hayes of Evansville; and four sisters, Gladys Sapp, Mary Tudor both of Owensboro, Vola Faye Daugherty of Mebane, North Carolina and Nancy Henderson of Evansville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. James Burden officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery in McLean County.
