Cecil James Helton, 82, passed away Friday, April 9, 2004 at his residence.
He was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Elizabeth Helton; and his wife, Elizabeth Helton.
He is survived by one son, Cecil Clyde Helton and wife Elizabeth Ann of Corbin; two brothers, Bill Helton and wife Dorothy of Michigan, Howard Helton and wife Evelyn of Calvert; one half-brother, Bobby Mills and wife Betty of Michigan; two sisters, Edna Lawson and husband Hassel of Lily, Geneva Patterson and husband Bob of Michigan; one grandson, Cecil Clyde Helton, Jr. of Bridgeport, Conn.; one granddaughter, Kimberly Coulter and husband Ernie of Indiana; two great-granddaughters, Lavada Rae and Errin Coulter of Indiana; a special friend, Mary Wilson McKnight and family; and a host of other family members and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral services were conducted at 2PM Monday, April 12 at the Hart Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Greg Farmer and Rev. Randall Lee officiating. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 11 at the Hart Funeral Home.

Colvin Helton, 75, of Corbin, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2005 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
He was the son of the late James Foster and Ida Mae Brafford Helton and was born Oct. 20, 1929 in Knox County. He was of the Baptist faith and owned and operated Yellow Cab of Corbin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Helton and Cornelius Helton; and one sister, Alberta (Pat) Richardson.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Litton Helton of Corbin; a son, Eric Helton of Corbin; a daughter, Toni Helton Reeder and husband Ric of Richmond; four brothers, Dee Helton of Corbin, Bill Helton of Woodbine, Colon Helton of Corbin and Rondle Helton of Corbin; two sisters, Irene Hubbs of Gray and Yvonne Neet of Norwood, Ohio; two grandchildren, Aaron Lee Reeder and Matthew Tyler Reeder; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
The funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday, Feb. 24, in the Corbin Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Prewitt Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday, Feb. 23 at Corbin Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be David Helton, Brian Helton, Scott Clouse, Tippy Clouse, Danny Smith, Steve Smith and John Thomas Smith.

William Scott Girdler, 36, of Madison, IN., formerly of Carrollton, KY., died Friday in Madison, IN.
He was born in Carrollton, KY., the son of the late William Lee Girdler and Myrtle Marie (Ray) Girdler. He was a Iron Worker for Local Union #372. He was a member of the American Legion Post #9 in Madison, IN., and American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton, KY., and a former member of the Westside Fire Department. He was a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include his daughters; Jennifer Marie Girdler and Amy Lynn Girdler of Carrollton, KY., one son; William Andrew Girdler of Carrollton, KY., a sister; Robin Lynn Moore of Pekin, IN., a brother; Paul S. Girdler of Hanover, IN., a half-brother; Michael L. Lickenfelter of Worthville, KY., and one grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Rev. Rusty Bennett will conduct the funeral on Thursday at the funeral home chapel.

George A. Beech, Jr., 76, of Carrollton, KY., died on Saturday morning at his residence in Carrollton.
He was born in Madison, IN., the son of the late George A. Beech, Sr. and Ruby (Mikesell) Beech. He was a Maintenance Man for St. John Catholic Church in Carrolton and a baptist.
Survivors include seven daughters; Judith Lynn Helsel of Madison, IN., Belinda June Jones of Dry Ridge, KY., Carolyn Ann O'Neal of Carrollton, KY., Sandra Lee Osborne of Hazard, KY., Bonnie Lou Potts of Madison, IN., Connie Sue Beech of Carrollton, KY., and Geraldine Meadows of Carrollton, KY., sisters; Daisy Croxton of Madison, IN., and Anna Hannah of Madison, IN., a brother; Jerry Beech of Madison, IN., twenty six grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother; Thelma Beech, a sister; Louise Stockdale, two brothers; Robert "Bobby" Beech and Charles Beech.
The Rev. Jerry Ison will officiate the service at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday.

Billy R. Lyles, 73, of Carrollton, KY., died on Tuesday afternoon at the Green Valley Health & Rehab Center in Carrollton, KY.
He was born in Marshall County, KY., the son of the late Palmore and Pauline Vance Lyles. Billy was retired from the former Belknap Hardware Company in Louisville, KY. He was a former Deputy Clerk in the Carroll County Clerks Office. Billy served his country in the U.S. Army and his memberships include the United Methodist Church of Carrollton and a former member of the Perryville, Kentucky Lions Club.
Billy will be missed by his wife; Geneva R. Lyles, a daughter; Leann Yager of Newton, IL., sons; Patrick Todd Lyles of Louisville, KY., and Christopher Lyles of Lawrenceville, IL., a brother; Max Vance Lyles of Oak Park, IL., and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Rev. Jim Wheeler will officiate the service on Friday at the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Evelyn Sanders, 95, of Ghent, KY., died Saturday evening at her residence in Ghent.
She was born in Sanders, Carroll County, KY., the daughter of the late Curtis and Frances Fisher Montgomery. Evelyn was a former sales clerk in the Wedding Department of Pogue's Department Store in Cincinnati, OH.
Her memberships include the Carroll County Historical Society, the Caby M. Froman Club, Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a former member of the Ghent Board of Commissions and she served as Vice Mayor of the City of Ghent. Evelyn was instrumental in the Purchase of the "Old Christian Church" in Ghent, which now houses the Ghent City Offices. For her dedication to the City of Ghent the Flag Pole at the City Building was named after her in her honor.
There are no immediate survivors.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; Clyde M. Sanders in 1995.
The Rev. Graham Reynolds will officiate the service on Tuesday at the funeral home chapel.
In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Gifts are suggested to the Hospice of Northern Kentucky, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
