Franklin Greer

Services for Franklin William Andrew Greer, 2-month-old son of Melissa Ann Greer of Hill-n-Dale, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.

He died Monday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

He was born June 13, 2000, in Lexington.

Other survivors include grandparents, Tommy and Billie Greer of Junction City; a great-grandmother, Lucy Childers of Lexington; and a sister, Jessica Mae Hardy of Danville.

Pallbearers will be Allen Finley and Dustin Finley.

Visitation is after 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.

David Farthing

HARRODSBURG -- Services for David Farthing, 77, of Keenon Road will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Jerry Perry and Claude Waldridge. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

He died Sunday at his home.

Born June 28, 1923, in Madison County, he was a son of the late George and Cora Shelton Farthing. He was a farmer, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Mayo Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Tindale Farthing; a son, Gary J. Farthing of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Linda F. Whitmer of Rochester, Minn.; six grandchildren; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark D. Farthing.

Pallbearers will be Steve Peege, Glen Reynolds, Jimmy Sexton, Bill Robinson, Daniel Coblentz and Eddie Sanford. Honorary pallbearers are Allin Watts, George Bechtel, Lela Graham, and Dorothy Johnston.

Marvin Godbey

LIBERTY -- Marvin Godbey, 68, of Comanche, Texas, died Friday at his home after a long illness due to cancer.

Godbey was appointed mayor by the Liberty City Council and served a short time in 1994. Godbey had a 13-year tenure as executive director of the Liberty Housing Authority.

In 1980, Godbey was appointed by the City Council to serve as executive director of the Liberty Housing Authority, where twice he was recognized by HUD as one of the best directors in the Southeast Region.

As director, he oversaw the extension of the Housing Authority from 40 to 112 units and worked closely with area agencies to improve services for the elderly and disabled.

Godbey was a highly decorated veteran of the Korea and Vietnam wars, serving in the Army from 1948 to 1976. Godbey was a member of St. Bernard Church in Clementsville and later at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Liberty.

Born March 19, 1932, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Pleasant and Mary Sneed Godbey.

He was preceded in death by a son, Trace.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Henderson Godbey; two daughters, Jane G. Jolly of Gardendale, Ala., and Lenore G. Lay of Warrior, Ala.; two sons, Mark Godbey of San Ramon, Calif., and Steve Godbey of Falls Church, Va.; two brothers, Rusell and Erman Godbey; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by the Rev. Joe Hall. Burial will be in Bethelridge Cemetery.

Visitation is 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, with a prayer service scheduled for 7 p.m.

Clarence E. Henry

MORELAND -- Clarence E. Henry, 77, of Stanford, died Friday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lexington.

Born Aug. 13, 1922, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late John and Rebecca Henry. He was a machinist and worked for Cincinnati Milacron for 32 years. He attended the First Church of God in Stanford. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Larry Roberts.

Survivors include his wife, Jewell Henry; two sons, Edgar Henry of Henderson, Nev., and Stanley Henry of Ohio; a sister, Maneva Teague of Sardinia, Ohio; two grandchildren; a step grandson and three step great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. today at Buffalo Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Paul Bastin. Military rites will be administered by Causwell Saufley Post No. 18, American Legion.

Kevin Hogge

MORELAND -- Kevin Hogge, 27, of Hustonville, died Saturday as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.

He was the son of Berle and Linda Hogge of Morehead. He worked at Danville MRI as an MRI technologist. He was a member of Hustonville Baptist Church.

Additional survivors include his wife, Amy Jeffries Hogge; and two brothers, Kyle Hogge and Jason Hogge, both of Morehead.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Hustonville Baptist Church by the Revs. Greg Nimmo and David Fralix. Additional services will be Monday at Northcutt and Sons Funeral Home in Morehead, followed by burial there.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Hustonville Baptist Church.

W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Charles Bailey

DAYTON, Ohio -- Charles Bailey, 68, of Kettering, Ohio, and Nancy, died Wednesday at Hospice of Dayton.

Born Aug. 14, 1931, he was a son of the late Belle and Clarence Coffelt and George and Ruth Bailey. He was retired from Roofers Local No. 75 and was the former owner of Oakwood Cleaners and C.B. Roofing. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 73.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; a son, Louis Bailey; two daughters, Vicki Brownfield and Sylvia Becker; a sister, Eva Miller; and seven grandchildren.

Services were 1 p.m. Saturday at Meyer-Boehmer & Feucht Funeral Home. Burial was in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.

Memorials may go to Hospice of Dayton.

Joe B. Hargrove

LAKELAND, Fla. -- Joe Billy Hargrove, 69, of Lakeland, Fla., died Friday at Highlands Lake Center in Lakeland.

Born Oct. 29, 1930, in Paducah, he was a son of Willie G. Hargrove and the late Beatrice Markey Hargrove. He was a Baptist minister who served several congregations in Florida. He lived in Danville for a few years around 1960 and his children were born here.

Additional survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Hastey Hargrove; a son, Richard L. Hargrove; two daughters, Janice H. Hayes and Cecilia A. Wolfe; two brothers, Phillip L. Hargrove of Greenville, South Carolina and Larry S. Hargrove of Burna; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Lanier Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jay Dennis. Burial will be in Auburndale Memorial Park.

Visitation is 3-5 p.m. today.

Helen C. Strevels

Services for Helen C. Strevels, 75, of Nichols Terrace, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Tom Lane. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

She died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Sept. 26, 1924, in Whitley County, she was a daughter of the late Sherman and Anna Richardson Cornelius. She was a former private duty sitter and a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her husband, James "Jim" Strevels and a godson whom she helped raise, Charles "Robbie" Lister of Los Angeles, Calif.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Young, Donnie and Bobby Goins, Steve Benson, Randy Preston and Henry Measel.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today.

Hazel Cinnamon

HARRODSBURG -- Graveside services for Hazel Cinnamon, 88, of Louisville, formerly of Salvisa, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Kirkwood Cemetery by the Rev. Douglas Meister

She died Friday at Norton Suburban Hospital, Louisville.

Born Jan. 7, 1912, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Lora Goodlett Riley. She was the widow of James H. Cinnamon. She was a retired employee of Sportleigh Hall and was a member of Jeffersontown Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, James Cinnamon of Louisville; a daughter, Gilda Watts of Louisville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation is 2-5 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may go to Jeffersontown Christian Church.
