Mr. Harold Berry, 96, of Madisonville, KY died at 5:15 A.M. Sunday, June 4, 2006 at his residence.
Born May 2, 1910 in Mortons Gap, KY he was the son of the late Walter Wilson Berry and Cecil Lyons Berry.
He was a retired superintendent for the Madisonville Water and Sewage Treatment Plant. He was a member of the Madisonville First Methodist Church where he was a member of the ABC Choir and the Wesley Brotherhood Sunday School Class. He was a former member of the Madisonville Rotary Club and Madisonville Bass Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years on Oct. 14, Mrs. Frances Oglesby Berry of Madisonville; one daughter, Sandra Wasilina of Detroit, MI; one son, Larry Michael Berry of Madisonville; one sister, Faye Myers of Evansville, IN; five grandchildren and eighteen great - grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Don Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wesley Brotherhood Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Lorene Gores, 85, of Mt. Washington, KY and formerly of Madisonville, KY, died at 6:01 P.M. Friday, June 2, 2006, at her residence.
Born March 16, 1921 in Hopkins Co., KY, she was the daughter of Monroe Carroll and Lola Satterfield Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard John Gores on September 17, 2002, two sisters, Aileen Hardison and Carrie Lee Lewis and two brothers, Clyde Carroll and Allie Fryer.
She was a member of Gospel Assembly of Dawson Springs, KY.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice Boerner of Mt. Washington; two grandchildren, Matthew Bass of Shepherdsville, KY and Rebecca Kelley of Mt. Washington and two great grandchildren, Nicholas Bass of Shepherdsville and Katherine Kelley of Mt. Washington.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 5, 2006, at Barnett - Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Harley Langley officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday and after Noon Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Garland Ruby Rickard, 85 of Madisonville, KY died at 12:15 A.M. June 1, 2006 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home.
Born June 6, 1920 In Hopkins County Ky. He was the son of the late Amos Rickard and Sally Ruby.
He was a member of Praise Temple Church. He was a Coal Miner for 44 years having retired from Peabody Coal Company. He was also a member of the UMWA.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Velma Rickard of Madisonville; two sons, Ruby Dorris Rickard of Georgia and Darrel Ray Rickard of Louisville, KY; One step - daughter, Lisa Love of Earlington, KY; two step - sons, Richard and Terry Wooten both of Madisonville; two sisters, Eula Armstrong of Madisonville and Sue Whitaker of White Plains, KY; one brother, Robert Rickard of Madisonville; five grandchildren, five great - grandchildren, five step - grandchildren, and one step - great - grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Sisk officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Kenneth Ray Moore, 69, of Lexington, KY and formerly of Mortons Gap and Henderson died at 7:30 P.M. E.S.T., May 29, 2006 at his home.
Born May 2, 1937 in Hopkins County, KY he was the son of the late Leslie Moore and Zelma Hopper Moore.
He retired in 1993 as an Executive Vice - president of Peabody Coal Company. He was a member of the Mortons Gap Christian Church and a member of the N.H. Shaw Masonic Lodge # 608 of Nortonville, KY.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years on Oct. 29, Sylvia Gatlin Moore of Lexington; two sons, Kenneth R. Moore Jr. of St. Louis, MO and Kevin Wade Moore of Lexington; three sisters, Edith Scott of Nortonville, Jo McGuire of Madisonville and Gloria Lietzke of Mortons Gap; two brothers, Jewell Moore of Calhoun, KY and Michael Moore of Freeburg, IL and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Lairy Nofsinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap. Pallbearers will be Rick Ward, Bill Kirchner, Silvano Perla, Ken Caldwell, Morris “Cotton” Meacham and Robert Earl Dugger.

Mr. George E. Carneal, 83, of Madisonville, KY died at 5:10 A.M. Sunday, May 28, 2006 at the NHC Healthcare.
Born March 14, 1923 in Madisonville he was the son of the late George Alex Carneal and Oma Lee Arnold Carneal. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marietta Overton Carneal on January 7, 1977 .
He was a retired banker having worked for the Kentucky Bank and Trust Co. He was a member of the Madisonville First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Baracca Sunday School Class and was also a deacon. He was a WW II Army veteran.
He is survived by two daughters and sons - in - law; Ted and Cheryl Cash of Hartford, KY and Kenneth and Alice Brantley of Marion, IL; one sister, Irene Hoff of Belleville, IL; three grandchildren, Wesley Noles, Jason Brantley and Tommy Cash; five great - grandchildren, Ethan Noles, Chase Noles, Jake Brantley, Mariah Cash and Tyler Cash; and his long time dear friend, Ella Mae Tabor.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Desmond Hargis officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mr. Walter Francis Higdon, 95, of Madisonville, KY died at 5:45 AM., Sunday, May 28, 2006 at his home.
Born August 28, 1910 in Grayson County, KY and residing formerly in Hardin County, KY he was the son of the late James Hillman Higdon and Mary Frances Thompson Higdon. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Elizabeth Sexton Higdon on April 20, 2006; two sisters, Mary “Dot” Hawkins and Mary T. Higdon; four brothers, James Higdon, Paul Higdon, Russell Higdon and Chester Higdon.
He was a Construction Superintendent for Charbon Bridge Co. and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Earlington, KY.
Although they were childless he is survived by one sister, Anna Katherine Stark of Elizabethtown, KY; several nieces and nephews; three caregivers, Rita Duncan, Shelia Johnston and Pam Crain.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father Bruce Fogle officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ed DeMoss, Bob Kik, Rob Shinall, Jerry Harned, William Duncan and Charles Hawkins.
