Mr. Edward Glenmn Coffman, 72, of Coryudon, Indiana, died at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Indian Creek Nursing Home in Corydon.

Born November 29, 1933 in Madisonville, Ky, he was the son Glenn and Thelma Coffman. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Coffman retired from South Central Jr./Sr. Highn School after more than 20 years of teaching. He served in the US Army from 1954 until 1956.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Marjorie Ingram Morgan. They married April 8, 1961; his Mother, Thelma Coffman; a brother, Malcolm Coffman; Sister - in - law, Sharon Coffman; Son, Tom Coffman; Daughters, Rebecca Reid, Glenda Mills and Debbie Smith; Sons - in - law, Greg Mills, Scott Smith, and Richard Reid; Daughter - in - law, Sheila Coffman; and Grandchildren, Mitch Coffman, Nikki Smith, Susan Coffman, Cassandra Mills, Thess Mills, Kelly Smith, Ian Mills and Autumn Smith.

Mr. Claudis A. Lutz

Mr. Claudis A. Lutz, 87, of Madisonville, KY died 4:00 A.M., Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY.

Born June 19, 1919 in Hopkins County, Kentucky he was the son of the late Ila Lutz and Ethel Hibbs Lutz. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Dement Lutz on September 25, 2002.

He was a retired coal miner having worked for the Colonial Mines and a member of the Madisonville First Baptist Church. He was a WW II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the V.F.W. Post #5489 and the American Legion Post #6. He was a member of the Madisonville Masonic Lodge #143 F&AM; , Scottish Rite, York Rite and the Rizpah Shrine.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside rites will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Chaplain Sam Beeny officiating.

Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home.

Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the Western Kentucky Veterans Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Mrs. Juanita Sharp, 78, of Madisonville, KY, died at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2006, at the home of her granddaughter in Mortons Gap, KY.

Born May 2, 1928 in Nebo, KY she was the daughter of the late Elvis Stokes and Alma Missouri Rickard. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Sharp on January 1, 1980 and two daughters, Linda Melton on January 25, 1979 and Jackie Scott on June 14, 1993 and one sister, Martha Bynum.

She was the former co - owner and operator of Sharps’ Bakery, Sharps Camper & Marina and The Emporium Gift Gallery. She was a member of the Madisonville First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Morris Frederick of Madisonville; four grandchildren, Cathlee Kington, Danyelle Townsend, Darren Scott, and Chad Scott; three sisters, Becky Glover, Elizabeth Lewis and Retha Todd; two brothers, Charles Stokes and Freddie Stokes and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rachel Ida Winstead

Mrs. Rachel Ida Winstead, 73, of Madisonville, KY died at 4:00 A.M. Friday, May 26, 2006 at the NHC Healthcare.

Born May 4, 1933 in Youngstown, OH she was the daughter of the late Helen Russo Adduch.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church. She was an advocate for the MIA/POW and a loving, doting and selfless mother.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Ray Winstead of Madisonville; two daughters, Cheryl Oakley of Sacramento and Helen Winstead of Madisonville; two sons, Mark Winstead of Oakland City, IN and Arthur Lee Winstead of Los Angeles, CA; nine grandchildren and one great - grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Nebo, KY.

Friends may call from 12 Noon until the services at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hazel Lee Denton

Mrs. Hazel Lee Denton, 90, of Madisonville, KY, died at 5:00 A.M.. Sunday, May 21, 2006, at her residence.

Born May 22, 1915 to William Stone Slaton and Allo Pree Ratcliff Slaton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, J. B. Denton on December 10, 1988.

Mrs. Denton was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She volunteered at the Hopkins County Hospital and was a salesclerk for Young’s Center Sales.

Surviving are two sons, Bill Denton of Terre Haute, IN and Jim Denton of Madisonville; one half sister, Margaret Webb of Louisville, KY; one grandchild, Cayce Denton of Lexington, KY and her caregivers, Teresa Marks, Dawn Dunlap, Stella McKiney and Linda Franklin.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Barnett - Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. Thursday until service time.

Memorials may take the form of donations to Green River Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Jenna Trinette Moody, 6 weeks old, died Thursday, May 18, 2006, at 8:45 A.M., at Western Memorial Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO.

She was born April 4, 2006, in Warrensburg.

Jenna is survived by her parents, Larrie Sue Walker Moody and James Thomas Moody III of Whiteman Airforce Base, MO; two sisters, Larrin Elizabeth Moody and Averi Annalise Moody and a brother, Blake Edrick Moody of all at home; grandparents, Lawrence & Gail A. Walker of Nortonville, KY, and Fred & Cheryl Moody of Madisonville, KY, and a maternal great grandmother, Myrtle Pryor of Nortonville.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday at Barnett - Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at 2:00 P.M., at New Salem Baptist Church in Nortonville, KY. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service time.

Mr. Glynn H. Scott, 58, of Madisonville, KY died at 11:45 P.M, Sunday, May 14, 2006 at the Regional Medical Center.

Born October 7, 1947 in Hopkins County, KY he was the son of the late Benjamin Harlan Scott and Inell Rickard Scott. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Harlan Scott.

He was a self - employed carpenter, Artist and an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Madisonville First Presbyterian Church where he sang with The Joyful Noise.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Scott of Madisonville; one son; Patrick “Spence” Scott of Manitou, KY, his stepmother, Sarah Scott of Madisonville; two brothers, Randall Scott of Utica, KY and Larry Scott of Cecelia, KY; two sisters, Joyce James of Hanson, KY, Benda Flener of Hanson and one stepsister, Debbie Plain of Madisonville; one stepson, Chris Stokes of Madisonville; one stepdaughter, Stacy Brady; his first wife, Becky Scott of Madisonville; three grandchildren and six step - grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Lon Lorton and Rev. Chester Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Onton Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the service.
