Jerry O. Kurtz, age 73, Harrodsburg, died Saturday, October 8, 2005 at his home in Harrodsburg, KY.
Born June 18, 1932 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Henry Thomas and Cora Lee (Carr) Kurtz. He served during Korean war in the Navy. He was a tool & die maker for Square D.
Survivors include: a daughter: Belinda Sue Kurtz of Harrodsburg, KY; Granddaughter, Melessa Phillips Kell of Burgin, KY; Grandson, Michael Phillips of Harrodsburg, KY; 3 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother; Charles Kurtz and a sister; Anne Kirkland.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Monday, October 10 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Charles Kurtz, Jerry Kurtz, Paul Kell, Michael Phillips, Fred Morris, Sean Combs.

Dorothy “Dot” Roach, age 98, died Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY.
Born September 26, 1907 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Ainsworth and Anna (Upton) McIntyre. She was the widow of Charles Pierce Roach. Graduate of Hood College (Frederick, Maryland) in 1929, received her master´s degree from Penn State. As a college student she was National Collegiate Archery Champion.
She was director of publicity for Hood College for several years and later became director of physical education at Moorestown Friends School in NJ. During WW II she served as director for the U.S.O. in Dublin VA, Newton Falls, OH and Columbus, IN. Dot was also a Kindergarten teacher for more than 25 years at Lad and Lassie Kindergarten. She was a member of the Harrodsburg Presbyterian Church. She was an avid golfer and was honored to have an annual “Dot Roach Tournament”.
Survivors include: one daughter: Anne (Tom) 'Teena' Baker of Lexington, KY; and one son: Charles Pierce (Debbie) Roach, Jr. of Harrodsburg, KY; Six Grandchildren: Kevin T. Baker; Jeffrey S. Baker; Anne McIntyre Brigance; LeCarole McIntyre Roach; C. Phillip Roach; Rebecca P. Roach; and Seven (7)Great Grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, 10/14/2005, at Spring Hill Cemetery by Doctor Joe Tarry.
Friends may call at the Charles Roach Home, 255 Mercer Ave, in Brightleaf Estates, following the service.

Joseph W. “Buddy” Keebortz, age 82, Harrodsburg, husband of Marilyn Ernestine Reed Keebortz, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Ctr.
Born March 21, 1923 in Mercer County, KY, he was the son of the late Arthur Brown and Matilda Etta (Dennis) Keebortz.
He served this country in the Air Force. He was a retired factory employee and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and a former member of the Harrodsburg Lions Club.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: one sister: Shirley Keebortz of Harrodsburg, KY; and one brother: Eulice W. (Geraldine) Keebortz of Lexington, KY; A Number Of Nieces & Nephews.

Jason Leon Smith, age 28, Irish Ridge Road, died Wednesday, September 15, 2005 at the University of Kentucky Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, September 4th. Born March 18, 1977 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Leon and Shirley Carol Stephens Smith. He was a truck driver for the Triple S Transportation Company in Springfield, cherished John Deere equipment, and was a member of the Benton Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters: Sherri Lee Lancaster, and Kimberly Darlene Smith, both of Harrodsburg; two nephews, William Lee Lancaster and Joshua Loren Lancaster, both of Harrodsburg; one niece, Cheryl Marie Lancaster West, Harrodsburg; one great niece, Breanna Paige West, Harrodsburg; a special companion Tessa Price, Springfield, a brother - in - law, Loren Lancaster, Versailles and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Harvey Jeffries “Jeff” Kurtz, age 89, died Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the V. A. Medical Ctr., Lexington, KY.
Born February 17, 1916 in Burgin, KY, he was the son of the late Clarence Roland and Nora Ethel (Voorhies) Kurtz Sr. He served during World War II in the Army. He was a farmer and a member of the Burgin Baptist Church.
Survivors include: a brother: Clarence Kurtz of Mercer Co, KY; and Numerous Nieces & Nephews, He was predeceased by one brother; Alvin Voorhies Kurtz, and six sisters; Hazel Kurtz Sims, Jesse Katherine Sims, Margaret Frances Tumey, Evelyn Davis, Naomi Ray Kurtz and Mary Louise Carter.

William Webb Baker, age 31, of Herrington Woods, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg, KY.
Born February 9, 1974 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Fred Rodger Baker Jr. and Mary Linda King.
He served in the Army and the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Southside Christian Church.
Survivors include: his mother; Mary Linda King, of Harrodsburg, one sister: Kathryn Manning Baker of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his Paternal Grandmother, Mrs. Rodger Baker Sr. of Lexington, KY; two Aunts, Barbara King English of Bowling Green, KYand Sally King Luby of Charlotte, NC; as wellas a number of cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 17 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Sam Stow and Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery, Lexington.
