Robert Rudolph Carstensen, Sr., age 88, Salvisa, husband of Frances Sienicki Carstensen, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at his home in Salvisa, KY.
Born April 8, 1918 in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Rudolph Antone and Catherine Zimmer Carstensen. Robert served his country during World War II in the Marine Corps and he was a bus driver for the New York City Transit Authority.
Survivors include: his wife: Frances (Sienicki) Carstensen, and two sons: Robert R. Carstensen Jr. of Pleasant Valley, NY and Bruce F. Carstensen of Clinton, NJ.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 30 at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Ransdell Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Lyndsey Danielle Browning, age 22, Central City, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, IN.
Born November 1, 1983 in Hopkinsville, KY, she was the daughter of Kenny Ammons and Lisa Poole Crick. She was a clerk at Fastway Food Market in Central City.
Survivors in addition to her parents include: one daughter: Ambria Danielle Browning and one son: Dakota Rydell Browning both of Central City, KY; three sisters: Kayla Ross and Keera Roy of Harrodsburg, KY and Maghan Wagner of Central City, KY; and five brothers: Kenneth Ammons II of Stanford, KY, Ryan Eldridge and Walter Ammons of Harrodsburg, KY, Christopher Hawkins and Colden Wagner of Central City, KY; Paternal Grandmother, Waldine Gray, Maternal Grandmother, Helen Poole; Maternal Grandfather, Bill Poole; Step Grandparents, Walt & Patsy Young. Predeceased by a brother; Brian Ross.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 18 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Sam Stow and Brackie Willoughby. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa.
Pallbearers are: Kenneth Ammons II, Ryan Eldridge, Walter Ammons, Christopher Hawkins, Colden Wagner and Adam Browning. Honorary Bearers are Kayla Ross, Keera Roy, Maghan Wagner and Heather Ammons.

David Castleman Quinn, Jr., age 77, 445 Beaumont Ave, Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at his home.
Born October 14, 1928 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late David C. and Maude (Butler) Quinn. He was a former employee of J. W. McClellan Construction Co. and Harrodsburg Herald. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, an RA leader, Nursery Daddy and was also a member of the Mercer County Civil Defense, the Harrodstown Chorus and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include: his wife: Mary Rose (Mattingly) Quinn, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Vicki (Leonard) Mackey, Frankfort, KY; one son, David (Linda) Quinn III, Harrodsburg, KY; one sister, Catherine Terhune, Indianapolis, IN; two brothers, Joe and Jerry Quinn, Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Ashley Beth and Megan Brook McElwain; 4 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Quinn, two sisters, Geneva Brack and Sandra Jane Proctor, and a grandchild, Melvena Rose Quinn.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Sat., June 3, 2006, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert DeFoor and Rick Snyder. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are Paul Terhune, Danny Terhune, Mark Quinn, Tim Quinn, Joe Quinn, Steve Quinn, Billy Rawlings, and Wayne Byrd.

Margie Taylor, age 72, 838 Watershore Drive, Harrodsburg, died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY.
Born November 28, 1933 in Jones Co., MS, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Anna Mae (Herrington) Maxey and was the widow of Buford Taylor. She served in the U.S. Air Force, was co - owner of Buford Taylor Construction, and was a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sandy (David) Murphy and Terri (Leslie) Williams, both of Harrodsburg, KY; one son, David C. (Ann) Taylor of Harrodsburg, KY; one sister, Virgie Lofton of Houston, TX; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Wed., June 7, 2006, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Lewis Walter and Jerel Coffey. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are grandsons: John David Taylor, Wes Murphy, John Elliott, Chuck Taylor, Josh & Clay Murphy.

Kenneth James Preston, age 74, 149 Dunn Ln., Harrodsburg, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at UK Medical Ctr., Lexington, KY.
Born November 19, 1931 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late John and Ella Marie (Purvis) Preston. He was the Minister of the Bohon Church of Christ and had served several area churches over the past fifty one years. He was also a retired employee of I B M.
Survivors include: his wife: Sarah Janice (Wood) Preston, three daughters: Janis (David) R. Spicer of Liberty, KY, Karen (David) Meadows of Louisville, KY, Annette Marie Preston of Harrodsburg, KY; and one son: Michael (Teresa) A. Preston of Fort Knox, KY; one brother: John A. Preston of Harrodsburg, KY; Grandchildren, Four (4); Great Grandchildren, Three (3). He was predeceased by three brothers: Paul, Everett and Harold Preston.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 02:30 PM, (5/8/2006), at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Julius Hovan and David Tapp. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa.

Robert A. “Rags” Gritton, age 82, 592 Harvest Ln., Harrodsburg, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Saint Joseph Hospice Center, Lexington, KY.
Born February 28, 1924 in Harrodsburg, KY, he was the son of the late Davis Hickman and Sarah (Nelson) Gritton and was the husband of Mary Dott Sidwell Gritton. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, Harrodsburg, and was in educational sales for 43 years. Mr. Gritton graduated from Salvisa High School, Georgetown College, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, and EKU.
Survivors other than his wife include: one daughter, Louis Edward (Cindy Ann) Reinhart II, Louisville, KY; one brother, Davis Marshall Gritton of Salvisa, KY.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church by Rev. Jon Hall. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
