Ilah Dean Adkins, daughter of the late Ezra W. Adkins and Edna G. Tucker Adkins, was born on Friday, August 9, 1929 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at her home in Magnolia. She was 77 years, 2 months and 19 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church. She was a School Teacher for 30 plus years for the Larue County Board of Education. She was also a tutor after retiring and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include a sister: Martha Patterson of Lewisville, Ohio; a brother: John W. Adkins of Pendleton, Kentucky; an aunt: Jenny Davenport of Greensburg; three nieces; three nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial funeral service for Ilah Dean Adkins will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. The family chose cremation and there will be burial in the Greensburg Cemetery. Bro. Gary Talley will be officiating.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Magnolia Fire Department.

Mr. Orville Johnny Beard, age 81, of Green County, departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2006, at the Nortons Hospital in Louisville.
He is survived by his wife: Jewell Neagle Beard of Green County
1 son and 2 daughters: Larry Beard of Edmonton, Barbara Thompson of Glasgow, and Oleta Carol Carter of Louisville.
4 grandchildren: Chris Thompson of Center, Todd Beard of Bowling Green, Stephanie Thompson of Glasgow, and Jeremy Thompson of Glasgow.
2 great-grandchildren: Ashton Thompson of Center and Natalie Shirley of Glasgow.
1 step-grandchild and 3 step-great-grandchildren.

Family requests visitation from 3-8 PM on Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Mrs. Alice Vaughn Goff, age 95 of Greensburg, passed away on Sunday in Greensburg.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Kenneth and Opal Goff of Campbellsville and Terry W. Goff of Bowling Green.
5 grandchildren: Eddie Goff of Greensburg, Valerie Goff Thomason of Cincinnati, Clint Goff of Bowling Green, Kevin Goff of Louisville and Olivia Goff of Nashville.
2 great-grandchildren: Olivia Thomason and Chandler Thomason both of Cincinnati and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Catherine Florence Beard, the daughter of the late Clifford and Mossie McKinney Curry was born, Wednesday, February 1, 1922 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, November 24, 2006 in Glasgow at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. She was 84 years, 9 months and 23 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liletown United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and was a homemaker.
She united in marriage on September 5, 1937 to Opal Beard, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1986.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Carol Lee and Gerald Lawler of Green County; a daughter-in-law: Rebecca Beard of Green County; a brother: Buford Curry of Danville, Illinois.
Also surviving are five grandchildren: Debbie and Bendal Bagby, Billy and Tina and Bobby and Lynn Beard all of Green County, Ken and Gloria Jolly of Maryland and Melissa Jolly of Tennessee; eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by a son: Bobby Joe Beard on March 31, 2004 and sister: Charlene Stephens and two brothers: Truman and Harvey Curry.
The funeral service for Mrs. Catherine Florence Beard, will be conducted Monday, November 27, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Liletown Cemetery. Bro. Meryl Young and Joseph Wilcoxson will be officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the donation of Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hortense “Miss Teenie” Durrett, age 82 of Summersville, passed away on early Wednesday in Campbellsville at the Metzmeier Nursing Home.

Mr. Dennis Odell McKinney, son of the late Mr. Aubrey Gather McKinney and Mrs. Audrey Kidd McKinney, was born on Thursday, May 22, 1924 in Green County and departed this life on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at the St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. He was 82 years, 5 months, and 27 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Vine Street Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of World War II, where he served in the United States Army. He was a mechanic for many years and worked several years for Sam Swope Honda.
He united in marriage to Miss Dorothy Jeffries on November 3, 1945, who preceded him in death on June 22, 1998. To this union were born two sons: Donnie McKinney of Louisville and Dennis Odell McKinney, Jr., who preceded his parents in death on December 26, 1961.
Mr. McKinney was also survived by his daughter-in-law: Bonnie McKinney of Louisville; a brother: Bobbie McKinney of Green County; two sisters: Dena Methroth of Louisville and Donna Ray Roberts of Jaybez; two grandchildren: Sondra Davis of Louisville and Kevin Odell McKinney of Louisville; three great-grandchildren: Alexandra Cooper, Christina Cooper, and Christian Cooper; a special friend: Edith Pickett of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services for Mr. Dennis Odell McKinney will be conducted at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery with full Military Honors. Bro. Gleason Bloyd will be officiating.

Mrs. Lucy Young Houk, daughter of the late William David Young and Nancy Bird Martin Young, was born on Saturday, January 9, 1915 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, November 17, 2006 at the Metcalfe Healthcare Center. She was 91 years, 10 months and 8 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Little Barren Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She united in marriage to William Estel Houk on December 21, 1934 who preceded her in death on May 10, 1984.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Lona Houk on December 13, 1935; three brothers: Willie Young, Harry Young and Armor Young and a sister: Hattie Jones.
Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Young Houk will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pierce Community Cemetery. Bro. Keith Sullivan and Bro. Meryl Young will be officiating.
