Donald H. Devine of Owensboro, formerly of Ft. Knox
Donald H. Devine, age 84, of Owensboro, formerly of Ft. Knox, passed away, Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
He was a 30 year Army veteran, having served in Korea and Vietnam, and a member of the Association of United States Army.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Maxine Bennett Devine; a son Kenneth Devine and a sister, Jean Hyde.
He is survived by a son, Tom (Sue Ann) Devine of Owensboro; a daughter in- law, Mary Devine of Glasgow; three granddaughters, Sam, Kim and Carol Devine.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, February 16, 2015, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. James Royalty and Ruff Warren officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 PM Sunday and after 11 AM Monday at the funeral home.

Lena Mae Coursey Underwood of New Albany, Indiana, formerly of Hodgenville
Lena Mae Coursey Underwood, age 88 years, of New Albany, Indiana, formerly of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
She was a member of LaRue Baptist Church, former member of Ovesen Heights Baptist Church, and a former supervisor at Jerry's Restaurant in Elizabethtown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie T. Underwood, a son-in-law, Paul Pearman, her parents, Bluford and Bertie Mae Eddings Coursey, a sister, Lucille Anderson, and a brother, James Coursey.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Pearman of Hodgenville, Faye (Beth Wardlaw) Copley of Sellersburg, IN, a son, Mickey (Cathy) Stinnett of Elizabethtown, two sisters, Nell Brown of Russellville and Dottie (Nick) Bego of Auburn, two brothers, Maurice (Betty) Coursey of Auburn and Harold Coursey of Russellville, two step-daughters, Joyce Grant of Hodgenville and Donna Gayle Powell of Buffalo, three step-sons, Roger Underwood, Tony Underwood, and Tim Underwood all of Hodgenville, 8 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 21 step-great-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with the Rev. Mike Akridge and Rev. Kurt Barros officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM Tuesday, and after 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home until time for services.

Roaslind Arnette of Hodgenville
Rosalind Renel Arnette was born June 24, 1965 and went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2015. Rosalind was born and raised in Hodgenville, where she resided until her death.
She was the daughter of Carrie Arnette and the late Maceo Arnette, Sr. of Hodgenville.
Rosalind is survived by her precious daughter, Taryn Alexandria Shipp, age 19, of Hodgenville; her mother Carrie Arnette of Hodgenville; her twin sister, Russelyn Lee of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Bruce (Sheila) Arnette of Hodgenville and Maceo (Tammy) Arnette of Elizabethtown; five nieces, five nephews; her best friend "COSMO" and several other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, March 5, 2014, at the First Baptist Church Hodgenville with Elder Jerry Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation begins after 11 AM, Friday, at the church.

James Bennett of Buffalo
James E. Bennett, age 76, of Buffalo, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at his residence.
He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and owner and operator of James Bennett's Apple Orchard in Buffalo.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wayne Bennett and his parents, Thomas Minor and Nellie Warren Bennett.
He is survived by his wife Lula Walker Bennett; a son Michael (Glenda) Bennett of Mt. Sherman; two grandchildren, Curtis (Angie) Bennett and Sarah Bennett and three great-granddaughters, Olivia and Lily Bennett and Kaylee O'Daniel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Gordon McDowell and Rev. Josh Hutchens officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM, Friday and after 9 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.
Betty Lucille Dever of Hodgenville
Betty Lucille Dever, age 71, of Hodgenville, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a member of the Salem Christian Church and a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Pinkie Ellen Saltkill Brown; five sisters, Mary Frances Skaggs, Artie Puckett, Christine Burba, Dorothy Van Metre and Lydia Miller and three brothers, Jim Henry Brown, Paul Brown and Melvin Brown.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, David Dever; a daughter, Teresa (Daniel) Perkins of Hodgenville; a son, Freddie (Denise) Dever of Hodgenville; three grandchildren, Laura Johnson, Brittany Dever and Kaylin Perkins; two great-grandchildren, Aubree Harrison and Brooklyn Burns; two sisters, Sadie Caple of Fairdale and Cora Mae Cantrell of Elizabethtown and a brother, J. T. Brown of California.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Christian Church Cemetery.

Stephanie "Nae Nae" Whitlock of Hodgenville
Stephanie "Nae Nae" Whitlock, age 40, of Hodgenville, passed away, Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was a 1993 Graduate of LaRue County High School.
Stephanie is survived by her mother, Christine Perkins Whitlock; a sister, Melinda Whitlock; a brother Michael Whitlock all of Hodgenville and her father, Kenneth Whitlock Jr. of Buffalo.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Rev. Danny Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will 4 to 8 PM Monday and after 9 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert Bennett "R.B." Smith of Hodgenville
Robert Bennett "R.B." Smith was born August 10, 1932 in Canmer, Kentucky to the parents of the late Walker and Lovie Dixon Smith. He departed this life on Saturday afternoon, March 7, 2015 at 4:10 PM at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville with family and friends by his side. Upon his illness, he never complained and accepted what life had to offer. As his health began to fail him, his desire was to be next to his wife, so they could be together. He was proud of his marriage, stating how blessed they have been through the good and bad times, that's what made our marriage a success. He was proud of his family and loved his family, church family and his church. He attended school at Halltown and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age.
R.B., which everyone knew him as, was a hard worker. He did farming for many years, worked on many vehicles in the community, retired from Gates Rubber Company after 24 years of service, was the church janitor at First Baptist Church, Hodgenville United Methodist Church, South Fork Baptist Church and did yard work for our church and South Fork and several people in the area. He and Mary Smith always worked as a team and was together all the time. He was a very active member at First Baptist Church, as he attended Sunday School, Senior Choir, former member of The Hodgenville Brotherhood, and The Young Adult Choir. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church for many years, making him the "senior" deacon. He and Mary Smith celebrated their 65th anniversary on December 28, 2014 at Sunrise Manor. For those who knew him, he would do all he could to help anyone who was in need without any charge. He had the love stock car races and enjoyed bowling on the Senior League in Elizabethtown, and was known for his fantastic green beans and potato soup.
He was preceded in death besides his parents and son, brothers: Wallace Smith and Joseph Bernest Smith. He married
Mary Williams on December 27, 1949 in Munfordville, Kentucky. To this union were five sons. He leaves to mourn his devoted loving wife, Mary E. Williams Smith, sons: John Smith of Hodgenville, Jerry Smith (deceased), Craig Smith of Hodgenville, Tony (Tess) Smith and Brian (Sharon) Smith all of Louisville, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mary Arneva Smith of Hodgenville, Emogene Thomas of Louisville, and Mildred (Rex) Thompson of Vine Grove, three brothers, William Mansfield "Smitty" (Carol) Smith of Hodgenville, Joe Louis Smith of Louisville, and Kerry Smith of Hodgenville, several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The theme of his life would be simple: "If I could help someone along the way, then my living shall not be in vain".
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Hodgenville with the Elder Jerry Wilkinson, Chaplain Tim Shockley, and Rev. Jonathan Carl officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, and after 10 AM Wednesday at the church until time for services.
