William L. "Bill" Greenleaf of Hodgenville
William L. "Bill" Greenleaf, age 89, of Hodgenville, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.
Mr. Greenleaf was a retired First Sergeant for the US Army, serving during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era and retired bus driver for the LaRue County School System. He was a member of LaRue Baptist Church in Hodgenville, the DAV, the VFW, was a Kentucky Colonel and held various offices for the American Legion Post #87 in Hodgenville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma L. Greenleaf; a son, Steven Greenleaf; a granddaughter, Lori Beth Allen; a grandson, William Jeremiah "B.J." Greenleaf; his parents, Perry and Abby Stump Greenleaf and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Allen of Hodgenville and Susan (Ron) Smith of Elizabethtown; four sons, Bill (Kathie) Greenleaf, Mark (Joyce) Greenleaf and Chris (Kristy) Greenleaf all of Hodgenville and David (Janet) Greenleaf of New Washington, IN; a sister, Mary "Sissy" (Ed) Guggisberg of Hodgenville; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, July 14, 2014, at the LaRue Baptist Church with Pastor Donald Kennedy officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM, Sunday with a DAV service at 6 PM and after 9 AM, Monday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.

Deloris Jean Mauldin of Hodgenville
Deloris Jean Mauldin, age 72 years, of Hodgenville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at her residence.
She was born in Hardin County, member of Friendship #2 Baptist Church, and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Jessie Murphy Gray, and three brothers, Gilbert Gray, Donnie Gray, and James "Buck" Gray.
She is survived by her husband, of 52 1/2 years, James R. Mauldin, a daughter, Debbie Morehead Mauldin of Louisville, a son, Damon (Rhonda) Mauldin of Hodgenville, four grandchildren, Tasha Morehead, Dustin (Ashley) Mauldin, Megan (Victor) Kahill, and Emily Morehead, five great-grandchildren, Keaton Morehead, Aiden Mauldin, Dylan Mauldin, Ethan Mauldin, and Riley Kahill, eight sisters, Irene (Joe) Mauldin, Mary Leona (Donald) Morgan, Lorene Mink, Wanda (Ronnie) Ramsey, Susie (Henry) Gardner, Joyce (Dale) Bales, Kathleen (David) Edlin, and Dorothy L. Frye, and a brother, Dewey (Betty) Cundiff.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Ronnie Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday, and after 8:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Kathryn Jones of Hodgenville
Kathryn Jones, age 94, of Hodgenville, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was a member of the Lincoln Memorial Baptist Church near Hodgenville where she formerly taught Sunday School; was a housewife and a former member of the Tonieville Homemakers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Jones in 1998; a son, Jackie R. Jones, Sr. in 2007; her parents, James Virgil and Mary Belle Forbis Asbury; two brothers, Raymond and Virgil Asbury and three sisters, Vera Thompson, Violet Bastin and Norma Jewell.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Durred) Gardner and Mary Lynn (Bennie D.) Warren, all of Hodgenville; a son, Jimmy (June) Jones of Hodgenville; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Jones of Hodgenville; ten grandchildren, Cathy (Alex) Smith, Sue Hines, Kenny (Theresa) Gardner, Johnny (Becky) Sidebottom, Janet (Dale) Peppers, Jack (Jenny) Jones, Jr., Joe (Jennie) Jones, Jeremy (Tiffany) Jones, Bow (Jamie) Warren and Cody (Adryanne) Warren; 27 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Lincoln Memorial Baptist Church with Bro. Dwayne Dobson officiating. Burial will follow in the Whickerville Cemetery near Monroe.
Visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM, Friday and after 9 AM, Saturday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
Mark A. Hardee of Hodgenville
Mark A. Hardee, age 59, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E. D. "Gene" and Dorothy Motley Hardee; a sister, Vickie Hardee and a brother, Michael Edward Hardee.
He is survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In keeping with his wishes Mark was cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Chapel of the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville with Chaplain Tim Shockley officiating.
Burial will be in the family plot at the Red Hill Cemetery.
Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Edward "Eddie" Bush of Hodgenville
Edward "Eddie" Bush, age 52, of Hodgenville, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, at the University of Louisville Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pleas Bush; two brothers, Paul and Charlie Bush and his father-in-law, Otis Key.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Key Bush; two daughters, Kaylee and Hannah Bush; his mother, Mary "Liz" Bush of Hodgenville; a brother, Mike (Cindy) Bush of Bowling Green; his mother-in-law, Lona Key of Hodgenville; a niece and five nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Sid Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Sunday, 11 AM to 8 PM, Monday and after 9 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Loretta Mae Achen Taylor of
Loretta Mae Achen Taylor, 91, passed away Sunday August 3, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital in Lexington, KY. Loretta was born November 12, 1922 in Chester, Nebraska to Ernest and Bessie Achen. As a child she moved to Ord, NE where she lived until attending the Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hastings, NE.
After receiving her diploma as a registered nurse, she served in the Army Nurse Corps during WW II while stationed in India near the Burmese border. Following the war she worked in VA hospitals, pursued post-graduate work at University Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia and taught nursing until recalled to the Army. During the Korean War she worked on a neuro-surgical team at an Evacuation Hospital in Pusan. When a Captain, Loretta met and married
her husband, then Major Royce R Taylor while both were stationed at Ft. Hood, TX. They lived in Germany, Texas and Japan before making their permanent residence in Radcliff, KY.
With marriage she gave up her career as an OR nurse and devoted herself to raising their four children. She loved being a wife and mother, serving as a homeroom mother, scout leader, Sunday school teacher, school chaperone and whatever servant role her family asked of her and was famous for her oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
In retirement she and Royce (retired Lieutenant Colonel) enjoyed traveling the world, making numerous trips to visit their children in Europe, Hawaii and Australia in addition to taking regular cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the United Methodist Church and a member of the Potted Few Garden Club, making beautiful arrangements from blooms Royce presented her with regularly from his garden.
Loretta was proceeded in death by her husband, Royce, after 50 years of marriage and is survived by her children John Taylor (Peggy) Winchester, KY, Lawrence Taylor (Lorrie) Folsom, CA, Linda Edmister (Brent) Hendersonville, TN and Joyce Greenleaf (Mark) Hodgenville, KY; her grandchildren Megan McGhee (Michael) Franklin, TN, Lawrence Edmister in Manhattan, KS and Steven Greenleaf of Hodgenville; and her siblings Patricia Larsen (Bill) Bozeman, MT, Joyce Goff (Wayne) Sun City, AZ and Dean Achen (Sonya) Unadilla, NE.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Michael McGhee officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Tuesday and after 9 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Gene "Tiny" Lobb of Hodgenville
Gene "Tiny" Lobb, age 64, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.
He was owner and operator of G and C Lawn Care, former truck driver for Cruse Trucking in Upton and a member of the South Fork Baptist Church.
Tiny was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Anthony and Catherine Cruse Lobb; a half- sister, Bernice Underwood; and a half-brother, Earl Lobb.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Hawkins Lobb; three step-daughters, Jacqueline (James) Newton of Buffalo, Lisa Childress of Hodgenville and Jessica (Stu) LeHotta of Mt. Washington; a brother, Sidney (Doris Jean) Lobb of Bonnieville; a special nephew, Roger (Debbie) Underwood of Hodgenville; six step-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; his special pals, Buddy, Molly, Bubba J. and Conan.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, Rev. Gordon McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 PM Wednesday and after 10 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
