Joyce Mae Williams Thurman of Hodgenville
Joyce Mae Williams Thurman, age 76, of Hodgenville, was born to the late Susie Thorton and George Thomas in Louisville and went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She met the love of her life, the late Charles "Pete" Thurman, Jr. at an early age, was a member of Lane Lincoln CME Church in Hodgenville and formerly worked for Community Action in Hodgenville.
She was also preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Callie and Jack Williams and a brother, Ellick Lee Thorton.
She leaves to mourn her passing; three children, Cassandra Ford of Hodgenville, Tim (Debra) Thurman of Elizabethtown and Melaina (Dorian) Lewis, of Dayton, OH; a brother, Robert Thorton of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Lolita Lee; a brother-in-law, Donald Thurman; 10 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, September 29, 2014, at the Lane Lincoln CME Church with Pastor Aaron Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard Cemetery in Hodgenville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Sunday and after 9 AM, Monday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
Mary Elizabeth Payton of Gleanings
Mary Elizabeth Payton, age 85, of Gleanings, passed away, Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Kensington Center Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.
She was a member the Highview United Methodist Church in Marion County and retired from Louisville Bedding.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Mattie Moore Brown; two sisters, Lela Mae Fields and Lucille Seeley; six brothers, Johnny, J. P., Junior, Joe, Bobby and Harold Brown.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Denise) Payton of Round Rock, TX; four grandchildren, Sarah, Laura, Emily and Adam; a great-grandson, Dave; a special niece, Sandra (Larry) Bell of Gleanings.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Highview United Methodist Church, Dr. Dwayne Howell and Rev. Tom Rector officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville and after 9 AM Saturday at the church.
Maudie Lee Mitchell of Raywick
Maudie Lee Mitchell, age 94, of Raywick, passed away Saturday, October 04, 2014, at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.
She was a member of the LaRue Church of Christ and former owner and operator of Lee's Grocery Store in Beverly, KY.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Mitchell; a son, Earl (Donna) Lee of Raywick and five grandchildren, Matthew Lee, Cameron Lee, Peyton Lee, Brice Lee and Phoenix Lee.
Graveside services will held at 3 PM, Monday, October 6, 2014, at the Green Hill Memorial Garden in Middlesboro, KY.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Sunday at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville.
The family requests no flowers.
Kay Nash of Magnolia
Kay Nash, age 53, of Magnolia, passed away Saturday, October 04, 2014, at her residence.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bro. Eugene Centers.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Nash; a daughter, Brandy (Stephen) Smith of Campbellsville; a son, Travis (Kelly) Barnes of Magnolia; her mother, Peggy Ball Centers of Magnolia; a sister, Kathy (Earl) Childers of Waco, KY; a brother, Mike (Marty) Scenters of North Middletown; two grandchildren, Baylen Tate Barnes and Warren Nash Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Dwayne Lobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery near Buffalo.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Tuesday and after 10 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
Joseph "Joe" Daniel Warren of Hodgenville
Joseph "Joe" Daniel Warren, age 68, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014, at his daughters residence.
He was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Edith Bell Warren and Geraldine Avery Warren; a grandson, Harold Wayne Sheroon; a great-grandson, Jaymison Ulis; his parents, Everett and Pearl Cundiff Warren; three sisters, Myrtle Bell, Viola Warren and Virginia Warren; two brothers, Harvey Warren and Paul Warren and a step-brother, Henry Wise.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Harold) Sheroon of Hodgenville and Patricia (Mitch) Ferry of Arkansas; a son, Darrell (Candi) Warren of Hodgenville; a sister, Kathy (James) Crume of Hodgenville; a brother, Herman Warren of Campbellsville; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Syd Ulis and Rev. Sonny Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Levelwoods community.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday and after 9 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
Herbert "Herbie" Wilson Hatcher, Jr. of Greensburg
Herbert "Herbie" Wilson Hatcher, Jr., age 65, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg.
He was a self-employed construction worker and a Vietnam Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Hatcher; a son, Dante Hatcher; his parents, Herbert Sr. and Laura Ellen Raymer Hatcher; three sisters, Carolyn Hatcher, Angela Hatcher and Charlotte Barber and a brother, Bobby Hatcher.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Smith Hatcher; four sisters, Shelia Shelton of Buffalo, Fran Hatcher of Hodgenville, Bonnie (Wayne) White of Alaska and Ollie (Joe) Harris of North Carolina; eight brothers, Jimmy (Kay) Hatcher of Campbellsville, David (Ritha) Hatcher and Gary (Daphene) Hatcher all of Shepherdsville, Steve (Jan) Hatcher of Buffalo, Tommy (Kim) Hatcher of Glendale, Mark (Theresa) Hatcher of Buffalo, Barry Hatcher of Howardstown and Timmy (Tammy) Hatcher of Buffalo and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Greg Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 8 PM, Thursday and after 9 AM, Friday at the funeral home.

Charles Ray Reynolds of Hodgenville
Charles Ray Reynolds, age 75, of Hodgenville, passed away, Sunday, October 12, 2014 in Hodgenville.
He was a member of Barren Run Baptist Church, and a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carole Wallace Reynolds, a daughter, Luanne Claywell, three grandsons, Michael, Andrew, and Charles Claywell, and his parents, Otis and Ada Hawkins Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Taylor Self, a daughter, Sharon (Ricky) Thompson of Hodgenville, two step-daughters, Shelia Cundiff of Louisville and Theresa Cundiff of Elizabethtown, two step-sons, Robert (Rhonda) Cundiff and Jamie (Cari) Self all of Hodgenville, two grandsons, Cody Thompson and Jacob Claywell, son-in-law, Lyle Claywell, six step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Barren Run Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-8 PM Monday, and after 9 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
